Holy moly, this is gooood! The perfect layers of flavour that dance around your mouth in perfect harmony! Thank god Maggie’s mum burnt the fig jam! Please, never stop making this Maggie! Yummmmm! Show details
Yay its back – Im so happy to see this back on the shelves! One of my favourite ice creams. I was abit scared it has changed but it taste the same as always. Not sure what everyones talking about. Please don't discontinue again Maggie :)))
Maggie Beer Ice Cream – What has happened to our favourite Maggie Beer burnt fig ice cream? Please bring the old recipe back, it’s now sickly sweet and all the delicious bitterness (which made it such a standout) has gone. So disappointed will not buy this version again.
Very disappointed – It’s gone off. The sophisticated burnt fig flavour is no longer present. It’s too sweet, more than it used to be. Where’s the honeycomb? It’s crystalline not smooth like it used to be. Will never buy again. Show details
Awful ice cream. Does shame to the Maggie Beer brand – I have tried to like this ice cream. I have bought it twice from two different places to give it a fair go. I expect MB products to be high quality especially for the price. I love ice cream but was very disappointed. I don't normally write bad reviews like this but I really feel this product needs to be reviewed and either taken off the shelf… Read more
or redeveloped. It is a combination between a really burnt taste and sickly sweet. The ice cream isn't churned properly and was quite icey in spots and too soft overall. Not the right texture.
I have personally met Maggie Beer and she is lovely. I think she would be disappointed to know her company is selling sub par products. Who is responsible for quality checks?
Above the rest – Best ice cream ever!!! A flavour combination and texture combination made in heaven. The surprise of biting into the bits of honeycomb crunch mixed with fig thick syrup balances oh so well with the caramel and vanilla ice cream. Show details
The best icecream ever made – This is my all time favourite icecream and a lot of people I've spoken to feel the same. Just a glorious quality icecream. I'm amazed to find negative reviews and my guess is those reviewers are the kind of people who have never dined on anything better than fast food. This is so good it should be a world champion icecream. Show details
my alltime favourite – I adore the flavour of this. Amazingly I do not like eating fresh figs. I find it a mix of tangy, salty and sweet. Problem is finding where I can buy it from a reliable source. Show details
OMG best ice cream flavour in the world – Got thoroughly addicted to it while temporarily living in Oz. Severely miss it now that am back in Canada. Doing my best to replicate it at home. Show details
The best Icecream ever – I've al ways loved Norgen Vaz but last weekend it got rolled when I bought a waffle cone with one scoop of this ice cream in Barwon Heads - $5. I've never tasted a better ice cream. Now to see what it's like from a 500ml container. Show details
Divine – I love that is just about the only icecream on the market that doesn't use palm oil. Thank you for being real! I love this ice cream. If I'm not eating it direct out of the tub, I highly recommend a scoop in a glass with a shot of KI Spirits 'Honey and Walnut' liqueur over the top. It's absolutely delicious. Next time I might even try it with a shot of espresso for a "Maggie Affogato" :-) Get on it.....its amazing. Show details
Absolutely disgusting – Would rather cut my own leg off than eat this ice cream.
Amazing combination of flavours! Ignore the naysayers! – The bad reviews here are completely bonkers. Imagine complaining about the taste of burnt figs? It literally says that on the label! This ice cream is absolutely glorious. Very high quality and a very sophisticated flavour. Crunching on a piece of honeycomb within a swirl of burnt fig is magic. Do yourself a favour and try it when it’s on special… Read more
because yes, it’s exxy. Ignore the babies in here. Maggie Beer’s good name shouldn’t be tarnished by people who should stick to an icy pole instead.

Salted Honey and Roasted Almond – Very very salty and Soft Almonds. Didn't like it at all. The bottom and top was full of salt. Left a bad salty taste in my mouth and gave me heartburn.
Gross – Tastes burnt and disgusting. Decided to give the brand a second chance and purchased the salted honey and almond. Wat too much salt!! Tasted just as horrible as the fig one. This is coming from a person who absolutely loves icecream so it’s really hard to get me to dislike it this much.
Ripped off – I feel very ripped off, what honeycomb and fig for that matter.I liked her first ice cream this is so boring especially for the price.
Heaven in a tub! – Don’t know what the other people are complaining about! They do not know quality food when they have tasted it! This has the indulgence of burnt fig swirled through out with pocket explosions of caramel entwined through honey comb ice cream. This is heaven in a tub! A bit pricey but it is better quality than any other ice cream out there. Even… Read more
better though when it’s on sale. Cannot stop at one tub. Like Maggie Beer said, “It’s an ice cream for grown ups”.
Yuck – Well you can’t say it’s false advertising. It literally tastes like burnt figs (not to be confused with caramelised figs). VERY bitter. Waste of money. Had a few spoonfuls and tossed it out.
Very sweet and overpriced – For the sake of a fair disclosure, I don't consume sugar at all. The combination of flavours is nice, however a little bit too sweet for me. The burnt fig was definitely a novelty for my tongue. Now, the price I believe is completely blown out of proportion. With a 500ml tube priced at $8 or higher if you are buying it in gourmet stores,… Read more
this is completely not worth the indulgence. There is a fierce ice cream competition in Australia and it is always possible to get a good ice cream for much cheaper. When I purchased it it was 50% off. But this happens once in a blue moon with this brand.
I did not find this ice cream to bee too exquisite to shop for it again. My Aussie all time favourite remains Weis with mango and macadamia.
Cheers
Bad batch? – fine line between burnt and over. This was over burnt and tasted terrible. QC needed. please tried it today at her shop in Barossa valley. I had to place in Bin. I'm a foodie and disappointed
Disgusting – Weirdest taste combo ice cream I have ever tasted so bitter I could not eat it I threw it in the bin.
False advertising – I bought a pack which stated the pack contained x6 Ice Creams 300ml I've attached the pic which implies the pack contained x6 300ml ice creams at $9.00 per pack, I considered it a bargain. However when I got home and opened the pack I got x6 Ice Creams 50ml each which is what should have been written on the outside of the box not just on the icream wrapper. It was misleading advertising and an utter waste of my money.

This is one of the most "Disgusting" ice creams i have ever had – The worst... Paid extra for something of a difference.. Burnt to point of bitterness, could not get rid of taste.. Very very disappionting.. Not game now to try other flavours.. Cheers..
Cult status – I absolutely love Maggie Beer's Burnt Fig, Honeycomb and Caramel ice-cream to the extent that I avoid going down the ice-cream aisle at the supermarket in case I hear it calling my name. If I do hear the call, the end result is me, in a chair with a 500ml tub in one hand and a spoon in the other, and no turning back. It's that good. What I like… Read more
most about it is the contrast between the bitterness of the caramel and the sweetness of the honeycomb. I search for those swirls of bitter caramel with all the focus of a truffle-hunting pig.
Dreadful flavour – It is extremely expensive, first and foremost. I must point that out. Now, I'm not one of them types who buys a four litre tub of home-brand cosmopolitan - I like high-end ice cream as much as the next guy. But this stuff is awful, it really is. It tastes of burnt figs. What more do I need to say? Figs do not taste particularly good to begin… Read more
with, and these figs are burnt. Burnt! What good is that? It really does taste like they accidentally burnt some figs and then decided to use them anyway. It's awful! I couldn't eat more than a spoonful. It was a waste of $12 or whatever ridiculous price it was.
Do you really want to eat burnt figs? You really do have to consider that before you buy it. Don't just assume like I did that if it's been made into expensive ice cream then it must automatically be delicious because this stuff... man, this stuff taught me a lot about trust and ice cream.
It tasted like death and emptied my pockets
Best tasting ice cream ever – Was served this on a Qantas flight in business class and have to say wow! I'm now disappointed if they have other flavours instead. This is a perfect combination of burnt fig swirl and caramel. Very creamy and rich. I couldn't eat more than a small tub though. Very happy to have found this in my supermarket. Great tasting treat
Sickeningly Sweet – The flavours in this ice cream clash, there is way too much going on..! The ice cream has a sickly sweetness which is all I could taste, unfortunate as the title sounds delicious. I think the main problem is the combination of caramel and honey, both very sweet ingredients. I love figs, they're certainly my favourite fruit, however in this… Read more
flavour ice cream the taste of the fig is completely lost.
Very overpriced.
Over priced and too sweet.
The best tasting ice cream ever – I am not a great icecream lover....but after this was offered to me while at a friend's place, I am absolutely crazy about it. If I have it in the house it only lasts two nights at best. It is the most delicious ice cream ever. But I think you would need to be a fig lover which I am. The tiny pockets of smooth caramel isanother delicious surprise. Well done Maggie Very different in taste. the burnt fig is amazing. rather expensive.
Very disappointed – I bought this as a special treat. I love Maggie Beer and have tatsed her other products. However, my husband and I couldn't eat it. It tasted so appalling that we ended up throwing it in the bin. I'm surprised people can eat it. I won't be surprised if they discontinue this flavour. at least I won't get fat ...as I won't be eating this
Couldn't agree more! MB products are grossly overpriced and at $9 for 500ml this just about tops… Read more
So Good, I Can't Deal – After getting high as a kite at a friend's place last month, the munchies kicked in big-time and I was on a mission. I rifled through her kitchen, found this tub of deliciousness in her freezer and finished 3/4 of the tub (I would have eaten it all, easy, but someone had already had some) in the blink of an eye. I simply cannot deal with how… Read more
incredible this is. I'm giving it five stars for its overall taste, but I have two complaints: Firstly, it was frozen quite hard in the container (but I'm going to give Maggie Beer the benefit of the doubt here and say that I was probably just very impatient and way desperate for my own good for some Heaven-sent ice cream). Secondly, I kind of have to take out a bank loan now to pay my friend back for what I ate. We would both probably let it slide if it was an average-priced ice cream, but $9 for a mere 500ml of ice cream is a bit of a crock. Well, I guess it did hit the spot at the time. Unique flavour, sufficient amount of sauce swirled through, very creamy and moreish. Freezes a bit too hard, very expensive.
OMG...I can't stop eating it – Went to the super market to get some ice cream to sooth my sore throat ....saw the Maggie Beer brand and thought I’d give it a go......well it’s the most spectacular ice-cream I’ve tasted in all my 52 years. Amazing taste the problem of having to get more..... Show 2 replies
Somebody stop me! – I am not usually an ice cream lover, however, I was in the mood and decided to give Maggie's ice cream a go. Without doubt this is the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I think the tangy slightly bitter taste of the burnt fig and the sweet whip of honeycomb and caramel make this heaven in a tub. I am struggling to stop eating it! Show reply

I agree. My husband and I tatsed this and I can't describe how awful it was. I never thought I'd hate ice cream but I definitely hated this one.
