Magimix Australia direct purchase. I've had a CE doe 5 years, recommended one to Mum. Recent purchase 3 weeks ago. The unit worked for food processing, but as I’ve previously posted the heating feature doesn’t work at all. For anyone interested it appears to be heating on the screen but zero heat is created and no errors. (multiple tests and… Read more

all trouble shooting done.)

It’s not in demo mode we’ve double checked everything zero heat.

Extremely disappointing to have no meaningful response six days later. This is an expensive appliance that is essentially non-functional on arrival.

Getting rid of the phone line and being this slow on email is appalling customer service. I sincerely regret making this recommendation.

First e-mail via website 5.3.25

Customer followed up via online chat 6.3.25

Magimix request for video evidence, apologies for delays. 9.3.26 sent immediately.

9.3.26 confirmation video auto reply.

11.2.26 follow up e-mail sent by customer.

11.2.26 COB back still nothing back.

14.3.26 still nothing. The product was sold and delivered by Magimix. There is absolutely no reason even if some states had a long weekend for the delay or to be so slow for a brand-new item at this price point.

This is not a reasonable timeframe for resolution as you are required to provide under the consumer laws of Australia.

Magimix claim they have streamlined customer service by removing the phone line it’s the absolute total opposite.

The functionality is excellent. The service is appalling and on that basis I will never be recommending you again. I look forward to an explanation and a swift response. I will be sure to post here and elsewhere the outcome.

Other Facebook group members (dedicated to the MM CE) are experiencing issues with service and extortionate diagnosis fees if they even get a reply.

Unfortunately - do not buy. Appalling service.

Love it. I just bought a 2nd Cook Expert. Regularly use it for making custards for ice cream, steaming dumplings (Friday night fav) yoghurt, margaritas, butter, bread, jams, soups, risotto, cheeses, sous vide, curries. It was a bit hard/confusing to use at first but I've adapted my cooking style to suit the Cook Expert and have a lot of success… Read more

Generally anything made by Magimix is good stuff that lasts. I remember my Mum buying the original magimix in the early 1980's with all manner of bits and bobs when I was little (like 4-ish). My Dad was often away for travel, sometimes for weeks at a time, so it got used heavily to batch process food ready for looking after me and my little bro.… Read more

Also for entertaining when people would come over for dinner, parties etc. All sorts of stuff - soups, Smoothies, pastries, cakes, mince, slicing and grating, mixing stuff.....

Over the years tried a couple of alternative brands in the late '90's and again sometime in the 2000's (usually when the bowl had cracked - for some reason the original magimix perspex bowls would crack after 10 ish years) but kept coming back to the magimix, buying a new bowl and continuing to use the magimix. Magimix customer service is excellent and they carry stock of replacement parts and accessories for really old machines.

They upgraded to a 5200xl around 2015. And I inheritied the old one.

I had been considering picking up a cook expert for a quite few years already, shortly after our first baby arrived, it really was time to get some better robotic assistance in the kitchen to speed up food prep. I had been weighing up a thermomix or this. In then end I went with the Cook expert as it really has the food prep nailed and also cooks so that is a plus on the back of first hand experience longevity and good customer support.

When I spotted one on marketplace at a great price with almost all the optioanl accessories included, I pounced.

That was 3 years ago. It now gets used regularly for all sorts of stuff - not necessarily daily but several times a week. My wife took about 6 months to start using it because she felt that it would take away from the cooking 'experience', however now uses regularly and still enjoys cooking as it has made many tasks faster and easier.

It's added capabilities include better breadmaking, souffles easy, big capapcity for slicing, dicing, making potato chips, stir, mixing steaming, gelatos and sorbets, juices,...... so so many things. About the only things it can't do is peel veges, bake or roll dough.

Niggles and suggestions - One negative is the opposite of the positive - because it can make more stuff quicker but the tradeoff is that it takes up more room than the original. This also means that it is quicker/more space efficient to wash the bowls by hand where the originial magimix bowl fitted more easily into the dishwasher.

- The base is quite heavy so it generally lives on the kitchen bench next to the airfryer.

- Personal opinion but I don't think the 3 bowl food prep bowl system adds much value. With the 3 bowl system, you always have to use the outer bowl, with the inner bowl there. Inevitably some spread from the inner bowl makes it's way into the other bowl so you then have to rinse/wash 2 bowls. I would prefer 1 bowl with a quick rinse between ingredients. Really not a massive thing but for future development direction descisions....

- It would be nice to have the ablility to program multiple steps to the cooking program. And or be able to create a program on your phone and bluetooth it across.

Swings and roundabouts because it can seriously mow through food prep fast, set up slow cookers, soups - many things that the niggles are pretty minor.

My Mum told me a story shortly after I picked up the Cook expert about her father. Who in the '50's when her mum needed to travel away, her Dad was tasked with looking after the 3 kids for about a week on his own. When her mum returned, having realised how much work was involved looking after 3 kids is, he said something along the lines of "Anything that saves time in the kitchen with kids around is worth having". He subsequently went on to obtain to obtain various time saving contraptions in the '50s including an original (then state-of-the-art new) Mixmaster.

I have to agree with that sentiment. The Magimix cook expert ticks off a huge range of capabilities in one machine/system.

There are plenty of other reviews that will go into the merits of cooking with the cook expert. There are groups on facebook that share recipes and tips. Plenty of youtubes for ideas too. Long and short of it is it can help doing a lot of cooking. As a rough measure, we get take away less now than before buying it.

On a side note, the 40+ year old original was still working when I picked up the cook expert, (we have subsequently offloaded it to free up space in the cupboards).

breeze. The food processor next level with all the different sizes and sharp blades making anyone look like they’ve spend ages in kitchen but machine does it for you. The Cocotte is an excellent size, and I have spoilt my family with slow cooked wintery meals and also desserts. All round I cannot fault the magimix other than I wish I had multiple machines so I can use them all at once in the kitchen!!! Don’t hesitate to buy if you are on the fence. You wont be disappointed

I love the Magimix Cook Expert, however, the book index that came with the product is difficult to find the recipe to find. Also I find the videos could be clearer for a beginner. The camera shots could be closer when the display panel is being used. Also I find that sometimes some of the ingredients used or the measurements are not given. Show details

Great quality and results in making desserts, soups and porridge, have been using it for couple of weeks so far. So still time to learn more. Not good in blending small quantities, as the stainless steel bowl is too wide. Blending could be done in food processor. Show details

I'm so impressed with this amazing appliance. Mostly I appreciate that I don't have to stand at the stove during most of the cooking process. Being able to set a time/temperature/function and let it carry on has been liberating. I've really appreciated the online cooking demonstrations and they have helped me become familiar with the appliances many programmes available. And the results? really quite wonderful! Product is great overall. Some things are less user friendly than I thought, such as the app, there are a few errors in it and a lot of recipes don’t translate with ingredients properly to Australia, so it takes extra time to figure out a recipe for what you want to do. Some of the functions also haven’t ground, chopped or blended things as well… Read more

as I’d had liked. The bowl is also a bit tricky to empty out especially if you’ve used it for a dessert batter etc, compared to Thermomix where the blade comes out, if you did that in the Magimix there would be a hole at the bottom of the bowl and you’d lose everything. I find switching between the food processor and silver bowl great at times as you can do multiple elements without needing to wash the silver bowl constantly, but at times it would also be nice if you could just use the silver bowl for everything, especially as it’s not plastic. As I figure out the machine though and the way I want to use it, it’s great for saving time and being able to heat things to a certain temperature and not have to hover over the stove to stir and check it. I made a recipe where I had to melt the butter in the bowl for cookies, but then when I added the chocolate chips they all melted as the bowl hadn’t cooled down enough, so a few learnings as the app does needed to be updated with some new recipes and fix errors in a lot of current recipes. I think overall great product, but the user has to be willing to spend some time learning how to use it and what recipes to make as the app and inbuilt functions need time to understand.

I purchased the Magimix Cook Expert with high expectations, believing I was investing in a premium, long-lasting kitchen appliance. Unfortunately, my experience has been anything but that. Despite meticulous care wiping down the base after every use and ensuring it was never exposed to excess moisture the metal base has developed unsightly… Read more

corrosion.

Let’s be clear: this is not a result of misuse or neglect. This is a fundamental manufacturing flaw. It’s painfully obvious that Magimix used substandard metal for the base and attempted to mask it with a layer of powder coating. That coating is now compromised, exposing the poor-quality material underneath. For a machine marketed as “expert” and priced at the higher end of the market, this is completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, Magimix has outright rejected my warranty claim. Their refusal to acknowledge this defect is as disappointing as it is telling. They’ve chosen to dismiss what is clearly a materials issue something that speaks volumes about their customer service and commitment to quality.

I expected more from a brand with Magimix’s reputation. If this is the longevity and aftercare one can expect, I would strongly urge others to reconsider before spending their money. The Cook Expert is, frankly, a disappointment wrapped in stainless steel-colored deception.

Buyer beware: great functionality means nothing when the machine begins to corrode within a few years and the manufacturer washes their hands of any responsibility.

The magimix cook expert is not worth the investment – I do not recommend this product. I scored a lemon that has been sent back to the service department 4 times and they keep replacing bits. The latest is the service department chipped and scratched the black exterior when it was sent back after their "servicing" for another matter, so it has gone back, again, for a new cover. That might sound great… Read more

but the amount of calls, emails etc and it is a very heavy unit to box and post. I paid over $2000 for stress and more stress. When I tried to use it, food easily burns on the small cooking area of the bowl, food is wasted as it is stuck in and around the blade, it is noisy, every time you remove the lid, water/food runs off the lid over the machine, they do not recommend putting it in the dishwasher, you cannot put it in the sink of water so cleaning is awkward, it is really heavy to lift/move/wash, they say sit the bowl overnight with a dishwasher tablet to remove the burnt food so that's costly, the auto clean function is just a rinse so don't be fooled by that. My recommendation - do yourself a favor - forget the woo hoo of the "brand", forget the hype, and buy another more affordable brand.

After loving my Cook Expert from a previous purchase and giving it a 5 star review I decided to purchase another. I bought a black one whereas the previous one was chrome. speed increases; but not with the food processor which is as silent as I expected.

The quality of the bowl has lessened as well, with no graduating measurement marks on the side of the bowl. The handle seems cheap. It moves and squeaks when the empty bowl is picked up.

The panel on the back of the base unit rattles even before using the machine. The inner steamer basket and handle quality has also decreased making them seem cheaply made.

Overall, the quality and follow up service I was expecting from a premium product which I previously loved just isn’t there with this unit.

I bought the Magimix Cook Expert as a Black Friday deal. It had been my dream machine for a long time, but I could never really justify the cost. Thermomix was very helpful and helped me make the decision. Now I can confidently say the Cook Expert is a real game changer.

It truly shines with labour-intensive dishes like béchamel, anglaise, hollandaise and risotto — all those delicious recipes that usually require constant stirring and attention. Being able to let the machine stir while I prepare something else feels like having a sous-chef in my kitchen.

I’m still on the learning curve because this machine offers enormous possibilities. I purchased four recipe books, as I found the free online recipes a bit inaccurate. The main book that comes with the machine is excellent and makes it easy to adapt your own recipes.

The only minor criticism would be the noise when the cooling fan . Otherwise, it’s a very solid, well-built machine. It does take up some bench space, but the design is sleek and attractive. I’m already planning to upgrade to a larger bowl in the future.

Overall, I’m extremely happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Magimix Cook Expert.

Still learning to use it. Love the soup function & I have just bought the xl bowl & dough hook. Looking forward to trying it.Have only used the food processor once. Was a little annoyed to find that the “pusher” needs to inserted to work. Most veggies need to be cut now. The old food processor worked without the pusher needing to be inserted. I understand that the lid needs to close but not the food pusher. Show details

I love mine. The food processor part is brilliant. My only complaints would be that it does not Brown particularly well or chop things evenly in the stainless steel bowl. I would also like it to have the same level of support and recipies available as the thermomix. Over all though, I am really happy. Makes excellent Jam if that is your thing!
