Miele G6300 CSU Built-Under Dishwasher – My Miele G6300 failed after 5 years and 4 months service. The dishwasher has had relatively low usage as only two in the house and using only once per week. The error code is F78, indicating failure of the recirculation pump. I am aware the replacement pump may cost $600 plus service fees, so not worth repairing. Disappointed with the service life as had expected at least 10 years from an expensive ($2199) top of range Miele dishwasher.

LOVE MY MIELE DISHWASHER – Great dishwasher. Cleans well even baking trays love it. Dishes need to be scraped no need to rinse them. Heavy baking trays need to be on the bottom shelf on the pots and pan cycle but they come out clean even the black baked on grime that usually needs steel wool scrub comes off. Show details

Quiet but could be better – This is the first time ever i purchased a Miele brand dishwasher. It looks very nice and it sits flush under our Kitchen Bench tops and it is a very quiet dishwasher. We test the dish washer with very dirty plates and was little disappointed that it did not remove all food stains completely. After one month the dish washer stopped working, but… Read more

Miele has send someone to come and fix it and have told us the computer on the dishwasher was down. It was an easy fix, but was little disappointed as my expectation for this dishwasher was quiet high for the price i paid. The one thing i really liked was that there is a tray for cutlery

Poor Product - not buying Miele again – Poor Performer 1 out of 5, reviewed on Nov 15, 2016 Very disappointed with both (two) Miele dishwashers. The first one (don't remember the model a 3 tray under bench) I bought at Harvey Norman full price about $2,200. It lasted just outside the warranty about 3 to 4 years. The stainless steel look-a-like rusted and scratched from cleaning and… Read more

the circuit boards wore out. After being put through the wringer by their service, I bought a older model G6300 SC at a discounted price on Sep 2014(but thankful for that as some recompense). Now 2.9 years later it has an F14 error. (Circuit boards again i am told). I thought I had purchased both times a premium product that would last. However I am very disappointed that Miele dishwasher only lasts about 3 to 4 years. And disappointed again that after 2 years/10 months the second miele dishwasher stopped working with an F14 error code. As it was is out of warranty (9 months) I have no option other than to pay for an expensive service call of $175.00 plus, plus etc and a week before they could come. As this is half the cost of another band new other brand dishwasher looking on line. I will be buying another brand and hope I get month than 3 years out of it. (meanwhile a non descript brand bought for a rental property has worked longer than both). So It seems that these dishwashers with circuit boards around steam, water and heat do not have a long life span, so I won't be buying paying a premium or buying a miele again. I will say that while they both worked, both miele cleaned very well. But very disappointed with Miele products at the price that don't last very long.

Purchased at: 1st from Harvey Norman and second from Miele as a replacement.

Nice dishwasher but could have been better – Bought last month and so far the washing has been good with occasional food particle found on baking dish tray. Water doesn't dry completely, have even tried rinse aid. ( plastic containers) Landing and unloading is a breeze and is quiet as a mouse when running. Quiet, sturdy, efficient, Miele quality - Brilliant! – This is an excellent dishwasher. I purchased this on the Miele website during the dishwasher promotion, so got it for a good price. The delivery was on time, professional and typically Miele. Unboxing the dishwasher, I was impressed at the excellent packaging. Mini hardwood pallets for the top and bottom, and timber posts down each edge,… Read more

with a cardboard exterior. Easy to recycle/upcycle. The installation was straightforward and easily tackled by a DIY person who is particular with quality installation.

The dishwasher is incredibly spacious inside, due to the lack of a cutlery basket, and the addition of the upper cutlery tray. Now, for those who are unfamiliar with stacking a Miele dishwasher with cutlery tray, it will take a couple of weeks to get used to, but once you do, you'll realise its by far the best way to wash your cutlery perfectly every time. Spoons never touch, the capacity is outstanding, stacking and unstacking is precise, and everything is organised. Those with OCD tendencies will adore this set up. There is also an extra spray arm above the cutlery tray, so that all cutlery is washed from above. The upper basket is adjustable in many ways. It can be left up on one side, and lowered on the other, so you get the best of both worlds when stacking odd shaped or large items. Obviously, the same rules apply as with all dishwashers: if the water can't get to the dishes, they won't get washed.

The programs are straight forward and no fuss. Personally, I get the best results for superbly clean and dry dishes, as well as the best economy, using the Sensor Wash program. On this program, the dishwasher consumes an average of 9L water, and 0.7kWh of electricity. This is displayed when the cycle has completed, and the magical moment occurs when the dishwasher opens its door automatically. This releases any remaining steam and assists with drying dishes perfectly, and economically, even while you sleep. The Sensor Wash cycle typically takes 2hrs. for heavily soiled items, I use the Intensive program, and this takes about 2 hours 45 minutes, using 12L and 1.1kWh respectively. I also notice that this program produces a little more noise, but is still incredibly quiet. You just know that your dishes are getting an intensive clean.

Maintaining a Miele dishwasher is very easy. I clean the filter once every couple of months, but half the time, it doesn't really need it. Also, I do not rinse or clean my dishes in any way before they go into the dishwasher. The filtration system in this dishwasher is incredible. I have tired various detergents and rinse aids, and have gone back to Miele for both. The rinse aid is less toxic than other brands. Its active ingredient is citric acid, vs some other nasty chemicals in other rinse aids. The dishwasher tablets are phosphate free, and are just as good performance wise as finish tab, if not better.

Love it – Our three year old Bosch dishwasher stopped working due to a "e301" error. Quote for repairs was $570. Contacted Bosch but they refused to cover cost. Since it had never worked well (always seemed to leave baked residue on everything, necessitating soaking and re washing) we decided to buy a quality replacement instead. Enter the G6300. mths old that had a complete breakdown. This dishwasher replaced a previous Miele that was 10 years old and had more than $1000 of repairs. At 10 yrs of age, it needed another major repaid. It had broken down after 1 wk, and being younger and more naive, I didn't request a replacement. I will never purchase another Miele dishwasher again. Annoying machine – Yes, the dishwasher is quiet, but besides that, it doesn't fit larger plates, thus holds less dishes than any other brand, the utensil tray is awkwardly laid out, and you have to unwrap the dishwasher pods that crumble in your hands before you get it into the machine. Also the pods are more expensive than normal dishwasher detergent. I've used… Read more

Beautiful addition to our home – All dirty dishes and Tupperware come out clean and sparkly (used in conjunction with Fairy tablets and Finish rinse aid). We purchased through Harvey Norman, and did pay the wee bit extra for Miele to install, especially after reading other people's comments that they may refuse to help/call out/will charge extra if they're not the ones who installed it.

Overall I'm really happy with it. Previous machine would leave white powder/chalk on items and not even wash pre-rinsed items... it was time to go, old 30yo machine. We'll see how long these newer machines last though...

Super quiet & dishes always dry. Normal cycle takes a long time – This is my first Miele dishwasher and it is a huge step up from the Fisher and Paykel one we last had. Cant fault this machine – This is our second Miele. Only sold the first Miele (freestanding) when it was 2 years old as we re-modeled the kitchen and wanted a stainless steel, built under model. There are a number of wash setting but i tend to use the sensor wash that takes all the guesswork out of it....or the intensive if i have pots and pans.

The menu screen takes a little getting used to ....but then i use it only rarely to change the time or make the display always visible.

As with all dishwashers, how you stack them can affect the quality of wash. I try and get as much in as possible and havent been disappointed with the results todate.

I use either Finish or Miele dishwasher tablets and rinse aid.....happy with the quality of wash using both.

I use a dishwasher cleaner ( coles own, finish or Miele) about once a month and after every 50 washes the check filter warning comes on (you can change the frequency) to prompt cleaning the filters and wash arms.

The stainless steel is of good quality and resists most marks...easily cleaned with a good stainless steel cleaner .

I cant fault this miele

Is it the quiet or the efficiency that makes it worth the cost? – Miele products are not cheap, however, when the outcome is more than expected then the price makes it a bargain. There are a number of different cycles and combinations so… Read more

I can select the right program for what has to be washed in the least amount of time using the right water temperature.

The feature I most love about this dishwasher is the silence! I can stand next to it all through the cycle and can barely hear it. When Miele advertised this dishwasher as whisper quiet I was skeptical. Believe it.

I was reluctant at first but... Spectacular! – I must be honest; I was reluctant to buy this unit because of its cost but decided to take a leap of faith, and that is the best money I have spent in years. I took this chance because I bought a Miele TwinDos washing machine last year and was so impressed with its performance and thought the same would be with dishwashers. The inside space… Read more

allocation is very efficient; baskets are strongly built while gliding effortlessly in and out; I love the fact the upper basket can be adjusted in so many positions and slopes to allow taller items plates in the lower basket while accommodating tall glasses at the top. The baskets are also very deep and designed to secure items in place while washing.

The 3D cutlery tray is extremely flexible for both normal cutlery and bulkier items such as whisks and bouillon spoons. I was very pleased to see the ceiling-mount spray arm is wide enough to cover the whole 3D cutlery basket; this compares to other dishwasher brands that have a much smaller washing arm or even a static sprinkle system which will obviously do not reach equal cleaning performance.

Best features include ECO FeedBack, SensorWash program and Perfect Dry.

The SensorWash program is smart as it employs water quality sensors to detect water turbidity, conductivity and quality in general. Based on this information the machine determines the soil level of loaded crockery and adjusts programme duration, washing temperature, number of rinses and duration, water and electricity consumptions accordingly (this is how Miele engineers explained to me, and it makes perfect sense). Bottom line, the SensorWash always deliver perfectly cleaned and dried crockery. In fact, the SensorWash does not have a fixed duration: sometimes it might take as little as 45 minutes for the cycle to finish for lightly or freshly soiled dishes, while up to 4 hours when washing heavily soiled crockery.

The water filtration and food disposal system is self-cleaning and requires very little maintenance; it stops all non-soluble food organics such as seeds; while all the rest (burn-out crusts, grease, oil, sauces, pasta, pastry) is dissolved and discharged.

I had this unit for slightly more than two months, and I pushed it hard washing some very (VERY) dirty paellas pans, dry cake residues, casseroles, roast pans with dry grease, grit, burnt-on edges (I am a messy Italian cook and always load dishes the morning after dinner social gatherings)... It even removes and dissolves paper labels from glass jars, didn't even know that was possible.

I used to wash and polish all glasses by hand, but I am fairly clumsy so over the years there have been many casualties. But Miele has the answer thanks to adjustable stem holders to keep the glassware perfectly steady during washing with the SensorWash Gentle programme; here, water hardness and temperature are adjusted (soft and hard water are dispensed into the cabinet in the right amount) to clean and polish glasses to perfection without leaving lime marks, no blooming or halos. Result: glasses are washed and dried to perfection (smeared lipsticks, spreads, oily fingerprints, dried tomato sauce, not a problem).

The Power Wash allows you to wash all your dishes in less than an hour while consuming much more water and electricity. So the guideline is: if it's quick, it consumes much more; chose the SensorWash or ECO to save the most, though washing time will be significantly prolonged.

I forgot to mention this machine is whisper quiet to the point that could be fitted in a bedroom, can't hear it.

I had two dishwashers before (Blanco and Bosch) and never had dishes perfectly cleaned without pre-treating, soaking and pre-scrub. I can now forget about that, wasting water and time pre-treating, just carefully load them in and Miele takes care of it.

Water and Energy consumptions are surprisingly low, for a 3hrs long SensorWash cycle it once displayed usage of 0.3 kWh of electricity and 19 L of water (which I am pretty sure is very little, thus very good!).

Before purchase, I researched online for reviews and fact-sheets to justify such a high initial capital investment and stumbled upon this promotional video on YouTube by Miele (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AX2MYhOQFfc) and thought it was an over-exaggeration to drive marketing and brand. Now I can say that is no joke or CGI.

This video was also very informative and helped me to make the right decision (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bqw4EnB9PfE).

In summary, this machine won't stop until everything inside is perfectly cleaned and sanitised.

I wish I bought a Miele before instead of wasting money buying the previous two.

With this machine, you'll never wonder again "Will it wash?" while loading items... Yes, it will wash to perfection.

With all the due respect, people complaining about this machine not cleaning dishes have most probably either improperly loaded (or even overloaded) crockery in the machine, used low-quality detergent or picked the wrong washing cycle.

I have seen many people loading dishes improperly in dishwashers and the machine cannot be blamed if not correctly used; also, never ever overload any dishwasher: crockery should be snuggly fit while leaving some gap so that water can impact the items from all directions and angles (that's how the cleaning process works). Putting one cup over another (unless properly separated by a cup rack) will not work. Make sure plates and glasses do not touch each other. If necessary split the load into two or even three.

Hope this helps.

PS: I just proofread my text above, and the answer is no, I have no affiliations to Miele. I am just a euphoric customer (and a good home cook, so they say) who wants everything to be spotlessly clean in the kitchen and does not like wasting water and time pre-treating dirty dishes.

Great! – Our last Westinghouse just stopped working after 5 years so after checking different brands through Choice and independents, we narrowed the search down to Miele, Asko and Bosch. So far we are most impressed. Glasses come out crystal clear as do the plates, cutlery etc. Whisper quiet and the auto door gets rid of the condensation. Great idea, along with the cutlery draw, which is fantastic and seems to clean the items heaps better than a basket.

Early days but if it keeps working like this we'll definitely be more than happy.

Waste of money – September 2014 I purchased a new Miele dishwasher G6300SC with auto door opening as previously had dishlex and Westinghouse both average. Miele washed great with fabulous drying performance, until June 2016 it died 21 months into a 2 year warranty period. Called Miele who arrange a tech a week later to attend. The tech open the control board and… Read more

said there’s the problem, german cockroaches running all over the control panel can short the board but further opening up to the circuit board, it was an IC switch that had blown. Apparently a common problem! Circuit board was clear of any cockroach droppings. This tech was from German Appliances who contracts to Miele and said he’ll file a report, should know the outcome in 2 days. I rang Miele again as not heard anything for 4 days, who didn’t have any details but they found out later it was German Appliances so I rang them who said they will replace the power unit and book the same tech the following week. He said I was lucky, they will replace the power unit as a once off! No mention about german cockroaches on the report. I ask the tech for the replacement part paperwork, he said don’t need it as under warranty. I found out after contacting Miele that I do need it as this will give a 12 month warranty on the power unit from 15/7/16.

I have never had any cockroaches’ infestation in control panels of past dishwashers or other appliances. Further researching reviews, found out a design fault of the Miele attracting these critters to warm boards and paying Miele $2000 for their engineering Excellency experience they fail to add electro gel coating around circuit boards for protection that are found in cheaper models such as LG for an example.

I am not confident using this dishwasher at night as we all well know, that’s cockroach’s favourite time, so to add a warm circuit board to the mix even with regular pest control, will the replacement power board survive another year?

I rang Miele for their views and to give me confidence in their product as I am restricted to use this dishwasher during the daytime to avoid pest favourite night time crawl, I advised also not fit for the use if I can’t use it at night, Miele just said nothing! When I brought this machine in 2014 it was fairly new with no reviews listed, now its rated 2/5, poor performance and I was just about to write a review as coming up to 2 years with no trouble then the above happen.

Why I brought this.

1. Low water usage, auto sensor fast wash in an hour. (lightly soiled otherwise normal 2hours plus cycle)

2. Auto door opening (releases steam and speeds up drying, maybe this also attracts german cockroaches)

3. Very quiet operational

4. German engineering (although they are unable to stop critters sneaking in their tiny slits on the front fascia control unit)

5. Miele synonymous, "built to last"

Would I buy another Mieli, well no. I will be looking at who holds the longest warranty first, then the price, more is not necessarily the best !

Very good and super Quiet – This dishwasher works a charm. Super quiet and all dishes comes out clean and dry. Absolutely worth every penny. Doesn't clean everything – We had an Asko before and never had problems. Our Miele 6300SCU does not clean the dishes properly. Paid top dollar for minimal return – It is very quiet and has a lot of room, but otherwise it doesn't do a great job of washing dishes. Will steer clear of Miele products in the future. Everyone talks about how great it is and the sales people talk you into spending the money on it, but it really doesn't deliver. I will go for LG again any time - better job for half the price!

UPDATE - 7/01/19

Still need to use intensive program (3hr cycle) to clean the dishes. Tried the different programs again, all still did not clean the dishes. I rinse plates & the baked on dishes but not the lightly used dishes. Used Finish tablets with rinse aid & filled the rinse aid compartment. I can only see that these settings would work if you are prepared to throughly rinse your dishes beforehand which defeats the purpose of the rinse cycle at the start of each program. Maybe this is what some people do, hence the positive reviews on the quality of their wash?? Will not buy a Miele again.
