A great machine has not missed a beat in the last 11 years – A great job every time Has hot and cold water inlets and hoses Used multiple times per day for large family. Great for delicate and high temperature washing. The technician that installed it suggested not to use cold water and now and then have a high temperature 95c wash to clean out the machine. Will always buy Miele. This is our second machine. I expect to get 20 years out of this product. See you in 2031. Show details

Disappointing – We have had a Miele front loader W5903 for 6 years and it has worked fine until the other day. we followed trouble shooting instructions and it worked for ashort while and then died again. A serviceman came out saying it would cost around $1000 to fix, not worth it in our opinion. I was told by the salesman that it was made in Germany therefore a… Read more

good machine. We have had other Miele products and have not had any problems but this is really disappointing. We are going to try to contact Miele and hope for some sort of resolution.

Worst washing machine I have ever owned – This machine was installed by Miele technicians but constantly trips due to faulty inlet. Constantly turning off and restarting. Do not ever touch this machine. It is the 3rd Miele washing machine I have owned and the worst. Not worth the money. And so much for things not getting tangled in it. That is a joke. Everything is jumbled. Sheets are the worse. Show details

rubbish appliance living off a reputation it no longer deserves – THE FACTS; A Miele novotronic bought 4 years ago $1,700, failed in first three weeks, took 8 weeks to mend under warranty. Failed 3 years later took another 8 weeks to repair, cost 350 $au. one year later failed, took 6 weeks to get estimate of over $700 for parts alone. Threw it out got a new bosch for price of fixing Miele. You decide.

Extraordinarily poor service culture – I have a three year old Miele washing machine which completely died. I called Miele and for three consecutive days they promised to come and did not arrive. Three blocks of 4-5 hours waiting. Eventually they were outside my home and I left work specially to travel home and let them in. A Miele technician and repairman confidently told me the… Read more

problem was the machine's on and off switch and they would have to order it from Melbourne and then wouldn't be able to return and replace it for another eight days. No priority was offered given the experience I had just had with them. They were busy they told me. At this point the repairman, suitably embarrassed, suggested I use a third party contractor. Not only did I enjoy terrific service from the third party repair group Appliance Care but they were considerably cheaper than the Miele service. As it happened, the on and off switch was ordered and when Appliance Care came to replace it this was not the problem. It was perfectly all right and I had to replace another component. I am requesting that Miele take back the on and off switch for which I paid about $170, refund the cost of the Appliance Care repairman travelling to my home to replace the switch and give me a discount on the extremely expensive component that had died, unusually after only three years. Who knows if they will respond? Up to now they have been unapologetic, unhelpful and very difficult to deal with. There is a significant problem with their customer service culture and I suggest you buy a different brand of appliance.

Very, very, very poor service

Excellent product and service – We already have a Miele dishwasher which is great. After two Electrolux front loaders, I decided to upgrade to a Miele. Although they are expensive, I can only praise the quality of this washing machine. It is so superior to what I have previously been using. I purchased my washing machine directly from the Miele outlet in Knoxfield. After… Read more

speaking to the sales team member over the phone,I bought it, and delivery was organised the following week.

The delivery was also prompt, and I received a phone call 30 minutes before they arrived. It was installed and there was also a clear explanation of how to use it, after the first run through.

I could not be happier, and I saved $$ because I bought during a promotion. As well as buying a machine which had been unpacked.

I highlyI recommend the Miele brand, and our clothes have never been so easily and efficiently washed. Energy & water efficient. Quiet, option to shorten program length, washes all types of clothing really well.

After Sales Service and Machine is bad – After purchasing this product we assumed this would be of a excellent value for money. After 1 year and 11 months this machine has become faulty and we were told we had to wait 4 weeks for a service person to attend also we had the option to call the service technicians ourselves who serviced our area only to be told we had at least a 10 day… Read more

wait. After calling the service department and complaining we were then told that they could have a technician at our property in 5 days and that the most likely cause of the problem was the circuit board. On the arrival of the technician he identified the problem as the circuit board but does not carry the parts and this had to be ordered so there is another wait for approx 7 - 10 days. After 5 days we have had no confirmation and still no washing machine. Due to a household of 7 people this is a product of use on a daily basis and to not have this it is very inconvenienced and costly to carry out this daily. After this experience I would not recommend this product or any other product as the service is unacceptable. Our last washing machine was from another manufacture at 3.5 times lower in price and lasted 5 times longer before any problems. Quiet circuit board failed under warranty period and the after sales service is shocking

After sales service – We chose a Miele as we didn't want to be replacing the washing machine every 5-6 years. Decided to spend the money for piece of mind. It has broken down twice now and is just 6 years old. Had to wait three weeks for first service only to find it would cost $750 to repair (more than the cost of buying a new machine) and we would have to wait… Read more

another two weeks before the technician could return. Also no guarantee. This machine has only done approx 1,500 cycles (not 5,000 as promoted) nor has it lasted 20 years.

Disappointed on both fronts cost of repairs, implied life of machine and after sales service (we had to chase the service department to confirm a date for the return service).

HUGE effort needed Miele to live up to your advertising.

BTW UK and Germany give a 10 year warranty on machines sold. Why not here?

Sherry Parker

NB: Miele has offered a 40% discount on repairs though I still don't feel I should be paying anything! OK apart from the two break downs. After sales service and living up to advertising on website, in stores and on machines.

Rubbish – Worst investment we have ever made. Decided to pay more for quality but ended up paying more for the worst washing machine we have ever had. Firstly, nearly immediately, it started to rip our clothes. Good shirts, everything. We noticed it was a rubber piece inside the machine that did this so we cut the offending design feature and had less of… Read more

our clothes ripped after that but still every load it manages to rip something. Live in middle of NSW so cost of getting repair person to visit would be too much. Then it started to leak inside and pour water over floor and big error alarm goes off stopping the machine mid cycle. Now it does that every wash, so to fix we need to put it on slant and water pours out onto the floor. But still each wash the alarm goes off, stopping the machine mid wash. We have to turn it off at the power point, pour the water out and then start again. But not to be outdone the latest trick is that it now trips off our fuse box turning off the power in our house about every second time it goes. This machine is a complete nightmare and it is only a couple of years old. Oh, I nearly forgot, just the other day it decided that it would not automatically take the powder out of the dispenser so we now have to manually put the washing powder into the machine. If you know a good place to dump this piece of rubbish then that would be handy.

Price too high and performance something south of a huge lemon

Do buy it – Works as indicated and of course read (and understand) the manual. It won't change your life or do anything but wash and spin clothes very well. Don't skip any of the installation information or think it isn't important. We found the machine rinses very well too, without having to use the water plus options. Changing the spin speeds is easy… Read more

as pressing button. Incidentally, we use both the hot and cold water inlets.

To complain that the load sensor only works on the cotton wash is really a non issue. Most of the other washes are specialist ones with reduced loads so, for example, a 'full' load with delicates is 2.5kg. A cotton wash is essentially a general purpose wash and can wash up to 7.5kg and up to 90degC. Putting a few items in on cottons will save water and you only need to think for a short time to realise that a variable load will lead to a variable time. Seems well made (check out the door hinges and seals), well designed and it washes well. It's very expensive

Don't buy it – The programme timer does not appear to work correctly, nor does the load sensor. We have not found Miele very helpful in trying to solve these problem. We can't use delay start on the cottons function because we cannot be at all sure how long it's likely to take. It doesn't appear to rinse very well on any wash, meaning that we often have to… Read more

do an extra rinse or use water plus. This negates any water savings the machine should make. The product description says that it has a load / water sensor, but when one reads the manual, this only refers to the cottons setting so to be efficient you have to use a full load on all other programmes. The 1400 spin is simply too harsh, we've tried to programme it to only do 1200 but the memory function memorises the most common wash rather than an individual setting. I haven't found the wash (cleaning) result that good either. (not as good as my old Bosch) A lot of money for a substandard product.

Expensive. Doesn't appear to do what it should, or do it very well. Not very helpful service from Miele.
