propellers just smashed apart whilst it was running and bits of plastic went flying everywhere. so dangerous! I was lucky to not be hurt. Reading the other reviews here it seems to be a common issue.

Dangerous fan – The blade of the fan shattered in my dad’s face hurting him badly and missing his eyes by millimeters. The cage is metal but not fixed in place properly and the blade is rigid plastic. I don’t recommend it at all, it is not safe to use.  Show details

I will never touch this brand again – Are these fans ever tested? I purchased one about a year ago and the blades shattered, with shape plastic flying out at me. After having a Arlec mist fan ($135 Bunnings) which died after two weeks, I replaced with the morett – I found the fan very powerful and quiet. It had different mode settings aswell as remote. I highly recommend this fan as it's powerful and quiet. Bunnings sells them $99! Don't buy arlec!! Dangerous product - should be recalled – I bought the misting fan from Bunnings Warehouse in December 2016. It had only been used a couple of times as it was too noisy to run at night. My 9 year old son went to move the unit while in operation and the blades shattered, flying out at high speed across the room. He was cut on his hand, but luckily it didn't get his eye. Had continued to be happy with it since pulling it out of storage a few weeks ago, but an hour after turning it on one night last week I smelt a faint smell of burning plastic. I turned it off and checked both fan and power point, without locating any apparent issue. After turning it on again, I was just climbing back into bed, when there was a bang and the sound of something hitting the wall beside me. I turned and saw the mangled head of the fan hanging from its' stand, the grille had dislodged and the fan blades had disintegrated. I then realised that what had hit the wall were several sharp shards of black plastic! Thank God my back had been to the fan when this happened. I hadn't checked this website prior to purchase - I won't make that mistake again...

A tip for you – I'd already bought this fan before reading the reviews. I was quite scared by the stories of the front bursting off. So when I put it together I used the twist ties that came in the packaging to double secure the front grill. No worries now! It's working fine so far.  Show details

DANGEROUS AND SHOULD BE RECALLED – Purchased first fan, plastic blades shattered and cage exploded off the front of fan. Returned fan to Bunnings and we were convinced it was a once off issue so replaced with another Moretti misting fan. Approx 2 months later, exact same thing happened. Very lucky no major injuries happened but it won't be long until someone is hurt seriously.

amount of complaints with the same problem DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE & by the way they are not cheap! Thought I'd spend some money on an expensive fan this summer to avoid problems, how wrong was I!

Moretti misting fan – Reading through notes, this seems a common problem, as my Moretti misting white pedestal fan just shattered to pieces this morning that gave me an absolute. following day and told them what happened. They were very good and even without a receipt they said we will give you a one off store credit of $90. If you are thinking of buying a morretti misting fan I would think twice.

So far, people have been lucky as to not getting injured with these dangerous fans. I would not recommend them at all. They should all be a recalled product.

Just out of Warranty Fan – Purchased this unit January 2015 and today 20/02/16 blade shattered, knocked off front cage. Luckily no-one near it. Checked the nut holding on the remainder of the blades and noticed that shaft was incredibly hot, however plastic housing was cool to the touch. Tells me that something wrong with the bearings. Moretti 40cm white Misting pedestal fan – Same as the other comments. Brought the fan from Bunning’s 18 months ago- worked great up until 26/01/2016. Switched the fan on and the fan blade shattered smashing through the safety cage and breaking it off the fan. Lucky no one was hurt. Recommend to take back to Bunning’s and ask for your money back regardless if it is in good working order and out of warranty. Should not be sold being so dangerous.

Moretti Misting Fan – I purchased this unit on sale at Bunnings a few months ago. I have had no issue with its performance at all, I love the misting action, the remote is a very handy gadget and the variable speeds are just right. I have ensured that I only use distilled water in it because our water in WA is so full of calcium it just blocks up everything.

have a pedestal fan in our bedroom that is 5 years old, cost $29.00 (not from Bunnings) and still works just fine. Poor effort Moretti and Bunnings

Left the room with burnt plastic smell – This item after only 2 weeks of using 3 times has left a burning plastic smell in the room. It is not safe and after reading other reviews, I will be returning for a full refund and have reported to electricalsafety@finance.nsw.gov.au for further investigation. I recommend others do the same.

Fan Blade Shattered – Bought the 40cm misting fan from Bunnings around 18 months ago. Whilst in use I heard a loud noise and saw that the blades completely shattered. By looks of the rest of the reviews on here, I am not alone. Yup back to the cheapo fans for me! Can't believe I wasted more than $100 on a piece of garbage.

The fan stopped suddnly – I bought this fan from bunning at campbelltown pc 2560 , it is 40cm with hose for humidity, suddnly it stop working although we use it very rarly. These are junk - don't buy – Turned on the fan last night and the blade just shattered into a couple of large pieces. The fan is 10 months old and unfortunately I did not keep the receipt.

Almost Perfect – Pleasantly surprised by the amount of air it moves. Has quiet operation, a little noisier with the ultra sonic humidifier working. Blades did interfere with the grill during initial assembly but when reassembled more carefully had plenty of clearance. Fitting rear grill and locking in place requires attention to detail. Wheeling the fan on carpet is a little tricky. Adds humidity and comfort when used in an air conditioned room. I find the indication lighting too bright in a dark room - no need for a night light.

Dangerous – Moreti Misiting fan's blades shattered sending the wire guard and plastic pieces all over the room. Returned it and replaced at Bunnings then the second one did the exact same thing. This is a dangerous piece of equipment and we were lucky no one was hurt with the flying debris.
