Excellent Telstra Shop Service – In September of this year I purchased a used Motorola Xoom Andoid Tablet via e-Bay. It came with 3G Wireless connectivity built-in. My wife was going through a number of health issues at that time and I frequently needed to refer to e-mails and documents away from my home network. So I thought I'd buy a pre-paid 3G Wireless Network SIM to… Read more

enable me to receive e-mails, etc. remotely. After some consideration I decided to buy the SIM for the Telstra network. I purchased the SIM from the Warwick Telstra Shop and they installed the card and activated it for me on the spot; on a busy Saturday morning no less. The consultant also gave me a quick run down on how the SIM would function in my Motorola and how to add fresh credit.

Due to my inexperience I made a few elementary mistakes which required assistance from the Telstra Shop staff. I revisited the shop next week and explained my problem. A different consultant guided me through my problem, explained what I'd done wrong and made a correction that fixed my issue.

So far I've used the Xoom many times on-the-road so to speak and even been able to show various Doctors and health staff necessary e-mails, copies of X-Rays and scanned documents that would otherwise have delayed progressing my wife's medical attention by one or more days. I've also been able to e-mail copies directly to the practice while within the surgery to provide almost instant response to requests for information.

I've never had any problems with Telstra's 3G Network coverage or speed. I'm very impressed by the Telstra network and thank the Warwick Telstra Shop (WA) staff very much for their much valued service. Efficient, prompt and friendly service Nothing

Love my xoom – I got my xoom as part of a deal with telstra and it is fantastic. I do a lot of flying and my laptop took up far too much space, so its size is convenient. the screen size is excellent and i love the touchscreen. Its great for games and youtube, It beats mobile phones hands down and it amazes people with its capabilities when pull it out to google something. it has nearly completely replaced my laptop.  Show reply

My Laptop is virtually defunct – I am a bit of a technology freak and love these kinds of electronics. I compared the various tablets and liked the feel of the Xoom. Accessories such as the SD card, dock, keyboard and flip cover allow the xoom to extend its use. The xoom doubles as my alarm clock, my bedtime book/magazine, browser (of course) and I can use it like a mini laptop… Read more ·  1

when typing notes, docs etc. The xoom was originally purchased for use when we travel o/seas rather than carrying a laptop. It fits into my bag quite comfortably and with the updated operating system to ICE, the interface seems much brighter and there is no lag time at all.

The outer case has a solid feel to it and I like the glass screen. One of my favourites

awesome product – Having used other peoples pads I must say that this tablet is ideal and better than the ipad. Android system allows alot more versatility with app games absolutely everything. Not having used other android tablets and not being able to compare against them, however it is a great medium weight easy operable and use anywhere tablet. ease of operation, capability to install a large range of apps and true laptop portable use

Excelent tablet now that the price is starting to come down – Specs; 2-core-1Ghz CPU, 1Gb ram(really ~700Mb available to user), 32Gb internal storage, micro-sdcard slot, 10.1" screen This is basically an android phone with a bigger screen and laptop battery. I can get 6-8hrs battery life of heavy use, and lasts weeks in standby mode. It has no fans so it is silent and you can pick it up and start using… Read more

it instantly, since its always in standby mode. The Xoom is an excellent alternative to a Netbook or a low spec laptop.

The screen is not as good as a ipad, its not IPS, colors look washed out, but is still good enough, and is better than most laptops, images look sharp and there is lots of detail.

As with all android devices, you need to root it to get extra performance and features(overclocks to 1.5Ghz, no problem), but its not necessary.

The RRP is quite expensive, but prices are starting to come down so its getting better value for money.

Personally I think the The 3g version is kind of pointless since you cant make calls through it, you can just tether internet from your phone when your mobile. Very long battery life. Impressive specs. Micro-sdcard Screen is average quality. Its heavy and big. The RRP is poor value for money
