Nooski Mouse Trap

A great trap! One evening, I caught 4 mice from the same trap, just kept resetting it! Works every time, exactly as described. Can be hard to set , but if you follow the instructions and hold the locking mechanism, it’s much easier to set. Have caught 14 mice in less than a week. No poison Try different foods as bait. The mice here love dark chocolate. Show details
I didn't have problems with the setup, but can see this would be difficult for people with any impairment to dexterity. The trigger mechanism appears sound, tested with handle of butter knife, so mechanically the trap is as described. It simply failed to encourage mice to enter. I set one up in a protected area on the path where mice were… Read more
observed to enter near fireplace, the other behind elevated bird cage. Initially used peanut butter, then later added the bird seed to the top of the peanut butter as that's what the mice were foraging for. Not one entered.
After a few nights of listening to them run back and forth past the nooski, looking in to see them ignore it, I shot one mouse with a nerf rival blaster (high velocity round ball style) next to the trap, caught three in a box of dvd cases ( bagged the box they had hidden in and dispatched humanely with CO2) below the trap. Subsequently the two baited snap traps that were quarter of the price have caught 2 mice each. So scoreboard: Nerf gun : 1 (bonus for first kill) Sodastream and a bag : 3 Ratsak prebaited snap traps : 4 Nooski : a big fat ZERO
(Update edit: over the following week and a half the mouse total topped out at 13 or 14, including the eight listed above. All extras were in the ratsak snap traps, Nooski continued to sit there like a lazy idiot spectator. Once that mass frenzy had finished, we haven't seen one nor any evidence of one in the months since)
$23 wasted, and I can hardly turn up to bunnings with a pair of unpackaged traps trying to claim refund. Don't bother with these, go the Ratsak traps.. quarter the price, effective and super simple to reset

Noosa a HIT – Have been using nooska mouse traps and it never miss fire always catching a mice. The product is a little tricky for others in my family to set. But so far with peanut butter and bird seeds 100% success catching mice every time. Recommended product as I set the trap inside the bird cage and animals can't get caught in trap like other traps Show details

Dangerous to humans, cheap, very hard to use – I'm quite angry about this product. All the good reviews, and yet it is atrocious: . * It's VERY hard to set up and dangerous to your eyes * It took six attempts to get it to set up properly: - It's very hard to get the ring on initially - but then the ring flies off VERY EASILY at various stages of the process, because it triggers so easily. - I… Read more
lost three rings that flew at high speed across the room. - a couple of times this happened even when I was putting the mechanism back in the holder - the whole process starts to feel dangerous and very precarious * The bait will end up all over the place because of the above process. The hole for it is not big enough . * This turns out to be the MOST DANGEROUS trap I've ever used! * I think one reason for this is the cheap flimsy manufacture. This seems to be one of those companies willing to ruin its reputation by making the item cheaper and cheaper. - Maybe that's why earlier reviews were good: it was better made and had a SAFETY, which it LACKS now . * NOW I find out it's banned in Ireland due to CRUELTY * The video online provided by the company is the same low quality as the trap. Considering how hard it is to set up, you'd think they would provide a clear video! * I was trying to ensure the mouse gets a humane death. But this trap is inhumane to humans. * If it gets any easier and catches a mouse, I might change the review. But for now I'm quite mystified about the good reviews but also angry at feeling tricked.
Nooski Rat version: A good'un – This review is for the rat model - a bigger version of the mouse trap. TLDR: This caught the smartest rat in the neighbourhood. I'm a big fan of this trap. The trap uses what are basically castration bands (typically used by farmers to dock sheep tails and testicles). Once set and baited the rodent will enter the trap and crawl up into the cone… Read more
where the bait is. There's a trigger set off by the rodent's head, releasing the band off the end of the cone and snapping down around the neck or upper body of the animal, cutting off air and blood flow. The rodent might die in the trap or in it's death throes, die a few inches away from the trap. The trap is easily reset ready to go again. There's no blood or messy remains to clean out. It's fairly kid and cat/dog safe with the trigger and band down at the end of the tube. Some reviewers have complained about this trap being hard to set - it does require some dexterity as you need to roll a very small thick rubber band down a cone right to the end and make sure it stops just on the lip and at the end of the trigger.
So for me, this trap worked where the Ratsak poison and traditional snap traps didn't work. This rat was feasting on our chook feed, getting at the feeder in the coop. This guy was very trap shy, even avoiding baited traps when we removed the feeder overnight. Initially setting out the Nooski he even avoided that, probably as it was something new in the coop. Smart little guy sniffed out the feeder that I left on our porch table, climbed up and feasted himself, so the next night I emptied the feeder, left it on the table again this time with the Nooski next to it, baited with chook food at the pointy end and a small pile at the trap entrance. That worked a treat, the next morning, one very dead rat. I assume he wasn't as shy of the trap on the table as it was a new food location for him and not one he was completely familiar with yet. This trap was worth the money just to get this one smart rat.
I recommend this trap but rats are pretty smart so patience may be required before you get a result.
THE 'BETTER' MOUSE TRAP – Living in an old house with neighbour's pets and an aviary providing food, we always get mice trying to move in with us when the weather gets cold. So, at the first sign of mouse, went to Bunnings to buy some old-fashioned mousetraps as we do every year as they just don't last and saw the Nooski and was intrigued with the concept so thought 'what… Read more
the heck' and bought it. Looked at the online guide, baited and setup and got the first kill that night. Reloaded with the same bait [a piece of biscuit] the following night and scored a hat-trick - 3 x kills. Two before going to bed and one during the night. The trap works flawlessly with the only 'misfire' catching my thumb whilst setting - my bad for not paying attention! Yes, the mice don't die instantly, but it can't take very long as all our kills are within a foot of the trap and one was still inside the trap. And yes, you do have to by extra rings but I feel this is a small price to pay for such an excellent and effective product. In summary, I would highly recommend giving the Nooski a go - a job well done to those clever Bros across the ditch for this better/best mouse trap!
Positive reviews
They work, just be patient and learn how to set the band properly – Had these during the mouse plague, and they got their fair share of mice. Some of the better quick set traps worked well and the good ones got more mice and are faster to set but these ones are good too. Peanut butter appears to be the best and easiest attractant. And if you know of any farmers, the bands are just castrating bands. Show details
Best mousetrap I've used! – Bought this mousetrap along with a 3 pack of a different brand. Needed to watch the video online to set it the first time but it's very easy once you know how. The first night I set it using peanut butter and as soon as the lights went out I heard it go off. Got one! Reset it straight away and again, soon as I pulled the doona up, got another one!… Read more
Same story for a third one. Literally had caught 3 mice in about 25 minutes! Weirdly the other brands haven't caught even one. The Nooski mousetrap is very effective but keep in mind, death is not always immediate - especially with the smallest mice it can take a few moments. Paid $11.47 from Bunnings and it was money well spent!
Took 3 days, changed location, trail of cheese - worked a treat where a normal rat trap did not – We are on the Sunny Coast in QLD..Tried to catch multiple rats who were eating our garden Veges...they were masters of the standard wooden trap. Tried a couple of different locations with trail of cheese both outside and inside the trap. 1. Tried the wall of the fence near their usual spot, no go. 2. Tried inside the keyhole section of our vege… Read more
patch..very cautious and didn’t go inside as I think there wasn’t much space for it to quickly escape if it needed. 3. Tried the outside wall of the vege garden wall and success! Worked a treat! The rat was a metre or so away from the trap as it says they are. Such great value and it works!
Negative reviews
Hard to set – Bought this trap a while ago and never actually used it. Discovered it while looking for something else. Decided to give it a go. Have been trying to set it for half and hour. The ring keeps flying of. Lost one. It is very hard to roll the ring to the end of the tube and having got it there several times it shot off. In the end my fingers were so sore I couldn't even get the ring to the end. Not for old people
Most frustrating trap out – I found the trap almost impossible to set up if you have a disability that affects your neck or hands. The ring popped off as soon as I set it down after numerous attempts to get the ring on. If you have one mouse then it will do the trick but if you have several then it’s onerous to use due to difficulty setting it up. I bought the last two in Bunnings but will be returning the one I didn’t use. Show details
Fragile plastic – Found Nooski plastic trap housing broken/cracked in several places & unable to reglue/fix. Trap hadn’t had much use...maybe only caught 6 mice. I liked the concept, but glad had only bought the one trap as a trial. So still have “nooski” rings spare/leftover... Show details

Excellent for mice control – It took me several attempts (and reviewing the online video a few times) to figure out how to properly set the trap. Once I had this sorted out, I am amazed at how effective these traps are. I have caught four mice overnight having only bought them yesterday. They worked exactly as described and are mess free. Very impressed! Show details

YOU NEED THIS! – I've tried clove oil, I've tried posion pellets and I've even opened up posion pellet bags just to speed up the process and nothing. I saw this by chance and purchased 2 after reading raving reviews. And I was not disappointed! Already claimed w mice over 2 nights. They seem to love chocolate aswell. Show details
Bang for the buck! – We had bought it like 5-6 years ago (@Bunnings) near our old place and had caught 2 mice - very quickly. So when we spotted a mouse at our new place (we've recently relocated) - I was worried. I didn't remember exactly where we had packed our Nooski! But 15 minutes later, I found it! Loaded it with peanut butter, a ring - left it overnight inside… Read more
the kitchen cabinet. Next morning first thing I checked - nothing. Later on (like an hour later), my wife suggested I increased the bait quantity and when I went to do just that - we'd got the bugger already!
So after 5 years - it still works like a charm that it is. Can never thank Nooski enough! If you have bigger mice - go for the Nooski rat trap. Else this one's great!
efficient and deadly for rodents – this mouse trap works very well, using peanut butter as bait, placed on my pantry floor, it is effective for mice, easy to use, once you follow the instructions, easily hidden from children and pets, no chemicals, no problems Show details
Best trap ever – After trying multiple different traps, I decided to give the nooski a try. I wasn’t disappointed, works every time. Bit of peanut butter, set in a quiet area and BOOM. Workes for me every time. Highly recommended. Show details
Best mouse traps ever! – Have been using this trap since hitting Australian market, would love to buy more if possible, bunnings not selling anymore , 100% success rate with these unit , go to stock and station agents to buy the rubber ring used to casterate lambs $15.00 for a container not sure how many in it. Have 15 traps and if time can apply rings 3 times and catch at least 45 mice a day dont have to worry about cats eating poisoned mice Show details
Love these traps – Mice are curious and rats are cautious. Saw two mice today , set with peanut butter and chocolate with a crumb at the entrance. Both despatched in under four hours. You have to work out their run and place the trap where they feel comfortable. So easy to set and use . Love these things. Show details
Save your money & buy the rat poison baits instead – There's a reason there's no YouTube video of this working & that is because it doesn't work! It appears ants may have gotten to the bait, after leaving it out for a week. I checked daily & band was still in place. Useless, I returned 2 yesterday to Bunnings. I think the rats do enter the tunnel but the tube is too small so it doesn't force the latch to trap it. Show details
Easy and effective – After watching the online video, I found this easy to set up and very effective. Killed the bugger within 24 hours. I preferred this to the old fashioned traps or baits. Show details
absolute waste of money – mice and rats everywhere one whole week and not one trapped tried various baits , simply a waste of money, just a phantasy product , guess they catch customers and not rats

Works great, slightly fragile build – Mouse trap works a treat, 1 star off as I have had a couple break the small plastic lip at front that holds the rubber ring in place rendering the trap useless. Show details

Trapped one of the pesky rat when nothing else could – I put the rat version out in my garden against a wall as the rat/s have eaten/ruined many of my vegetables and netting in the past month. First three nights nothing was caught so i decided to trail peanut butter down the tube and next night a dead rat just outside the trap. Will keep this trap out there at all times. factor over traditional traps is that other animals cant fit down the tube which makes it pet/wildlife friendly. Also it can be used outside!
I have used bait stations previously but it doesn't kill the rats well, also they are bad for the environment. The undercover traditional traps i made also 0 success so finally glad to find something that works.
Works perfectly – Easy to set, kills instantly, no mess. Haven't had a miss fire yet, very quick and humane, you only need the smallest amount of bait which stays in the trap Show details
Don't bother – Others seem to be having success with mice but after months of setting this for rats in my shed it hasn't caught a thing. Rats kept eating things and pooping everywhere. These aren't easy to set either. Meanwhile the bait boxes I subsequently went and bought worked instantly. Show details
Works perfectly – Had this thing for a couple of days and the results are perfect. Better than any other trap I’ve ever used. Very happy with this and would recommend to anyone with an indoor mouse problem Show details
It works – After about 3 weeks it caught a rat. Used peanut butter and sultanas as the bait. Easy to setup. It sat undisturbed for 2 weeks. One misfire happened before it caught the rat. Note - Death is not instant as claimed on the packaging. Show details
Couldn't catch anything - waste of time and money – Typically once a year we got a rat moving into our ceiling. Got sick of the old Ratsak approach, as we always wound up with the distinctive Rattus Extinctus aroma wafting down from the ceiling space. Knowing their entry route, bought a Nooski and baited it with PB. Nothing. After about three weeks of weekly refreshing the bait, I reverted to… Read more
Ratsak baits. Dead rat (in ceiling again of course ...) but at least that method works.
Would have to be the single biggest failure of any device I have ever purchased.
I note others with success stories seem to be dealing with MICE. Maybe they work with them. Ours was the RAT version ...
I am never using anything else for inside my house – With 12 hours I had caught the 2 mice in my bedroom it is a fantastic product safe for kids and pets. Reasonable easy to use and the results are amazing Show details
Oh, rats! – I've tried so many humane traps that didn't work. Finally caved and bought a Nooski rat and a mouse trap, and some extra rings. 100% kill rate – Living rural we have plenty of vermin from time to time. After too many normal snap traps being pilfered with no catch I tried this nooski. A chook couldn't be wounded Am going away for a few days so will set both traps...and see what happens. Nowhere near as messy and bloody as the 'traditional' mousetrap. And seems fairly expeditious ( no wriggling bodies and quick despatch...therefore pretty humane Surprised by the few 1 or 0 star reviews...a number look like people using the Rat size to catch mice. Has yet to catch anything – The trap has been armed and baited for 9 days. The rubber noose has been released 5 times, with 4 left lying in the bottom of the trap. No dead rat. These are definitely rats and not mice. Bait has been totally consumed on each occasion. I'm running out of Nutella and peanut butter. Don't know what happened to 5th 'noose'.
