Overall sentiment toward Officeworks is mixed, with a distinct divide between positive in-store staff interactions and frustrating administrative experiences. While several customers praise individual employees for helpful service and report satisfaction with click-and-collect orders, a significant volume of feedback highlights systemic issues. Key pain points include difficulties contacting customer support, unreliable online delivery timeframes, and challenges with returns and warranty claims. Consumers approaching the retailer may find physical stores efficient for straightforward purchases, but should exercise caution with online ordering and complex customer service requests.
Kelly was fantastic at Virginia office works when it came to customer service. I've never used my mobile phone to print anything out at office works before. She didn't treat me like an uneducated problem but took the time to help me step by step to achieve the results of printed forms I needed. Thanks Office Works for having such a great service personal! Definitely appreciated her help. Show details
My son finally decided on a photo mug as a Father’s Day present for his dad, and as it was relatively last minute, we chose Officeworks because they offered an express service with a very short turnaround time. We went at a relatively quiet time but, having never used one of the photo kiosks before, we found the process quite difficult to… Read more
navigate. There were scarcely any staff available to assist, and when we did try to get help, we had to wait in a queue. My son became quite upset and frustrated by the whole experience.
In the end, I felt that we had made such a botched job of the mug simply because I didn’t really know how to use the kiosk and there was no one readily available to help us. We came home without ordering it and found an online service instead that promises a quick turnaround.
It was really disappointing. What should have been a simple and enjoyable experience of helping my son create a Father’s Day present became unnecessarily stressful. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I wouldn’t use the Officeworks photo kiosks again.
Big thanks to Amy at the Elizabeth Office works in South Australia a couple of months ago for doing an excellent job transferring my really old family photos onto a USB enabling me to then print them. She did a really great job. They came out beautifully. Thanks

Dishonest Manager – I bought a faulty Mac from them and took it back immediately. They looked like they would initiate a procedure to provide me with a new replacement. It turned out that they would only repair it or replace it with refurbished ones. I only found it out from the paperwork they wanted me to sign and when I asked them directly. Then they claimed the… Read more
refurbished ones were the same, still maintained by Apple, and had a warranty. But the price I paid wasn't for a refurbished Mac.
It also takes 2-3 weeks for them to repair. Their manager, [Name Removed] lied that purchasing from other merchants would result in the same process. However, this is not the case. I have talked with Apple. Apple offers new replacements for faulty items purchased from them within three weeks. Additionally, Apple matches prices if they are higher than those of Officework.
I guess all the Officework has the same procedure. But I would appreciate it if I was treated with honesty and respect.
Smart Keyboard folio falling apart – I bought a Smart Keyboard Folio for my IPad Pro 11 and only used it for the last few months. (I used a previous iPad of being user friendlier for more than a year, since I gave it away few months back.) The new keyboard is falling apart. When I took the keyboard to show it to Officeworks Airport West the lady [Name Removed] who claimed to be the… Read more
store manager said that overused. If I use my IPad for 4-5 years do I need 3 IPad covers x $269 each. Does it look over used? Cheaply bought and sold for very expensive.
Did call their price match team and assist by PAO. It was sand disk extreme pro 256gb. Officeworks shows $298 and center com shows $99. PAO refuse to match as he said centercom advise 30y warranty and officeworks says lifetime warranty. asked is he in au web page he say he is. Either myself a blind person or officeworks are. I attatch screen shot from centercom au web page which clarly indicate lifetime warranty as officeworks say too. Being a long time officeworks customer and finaly think time to open my eyes and see the world. I bought it from jb hi fi, they didnt bit but match the peice less than 30seconds without verify me first. Ibattatch this receipt as well. I hate most if someone tell somerhing and cant honor this promise. Officeworks going to this direction as well. Its not PAO its actually officeworks make the excause by fake word.
I was less than impressed. Recently I bought a new $800 laptop. That is pretty special for me as I am on a Disability Support Pension and have to make my money stretch. As such, I do not buy a new laptop very often. When I got home I excitedly told my brother about my new laptop. He called me a goose and asked why I had bought a new laptop as my… Read more
current laptop is still ok from his view. I said I was looking to buy a faster laptop as my memory is shot after a number of brain surgeries. A slow laptop means I forget what I am going to write and what I am doing etc when the computer takes too long to type my information out, or the cursor freezes. When I took my current laptop in to show the Officeworks staff person, they suggested a certain laptop. I mentioned why I wanted a new laptop. Specifically, I was hoping to update my current laptop so when the weather warms up I can still use it without it freezing. In general, I need a laptop that is faster than my current laptop. The staff person was nice about things but based on my price limit I think he found a laptop that would meet that budget rather than my specified parameters? Ignorantly, without a support worker with me, I bought the laptop that we were looking at. Excitedly (as you do when you buy a new laptop), I snipped the blue wrapping/holding tape off the new box when I got home and had a quick look. I didn't even take the laptop out of its white inner packaging. On phoning my brother to share my news, he called me a goose and asked why I had bought a new laptop? I have now been told that I can save files to a hard drive to look at later and also use a cooling mat to help keep my laptop cooler in the hotter weather, none of which were mentioned to me at the point of sales. When I returned the laptop (the next day, based on what my brother had told me) I was refused a refund. That gutted me as $800 is a lot of money to be loosing on a purchase that I had made merely one day earlier. That is close to 2 months savings if I do nothing else! I was told the return has to be unopened and in its original packaging. Except for ironically opening the plastic sealed guarantee and loosely opening the box the laptop was sealed in (given there was no mention on the box itself of what was inside the box), the laptop was exactly as I bought it. I had not messed with anything so I asked to speak to the manager. The manageress presented herself and recited the same as what the sales person had about not being able to give me a refund, despite the product not meeting my needs. She suggested that I could forward sell my laptop on Marketplace. I could tell the manageress had no experience with either dementia or brain injuries. I left feeling gutted. Two days later I approached JB HiFi. They were amazing.. and have a return policy. I know where I will be telling my brain injury friends to be shopping in future. It will not be the Ipswich Officeworks store.
I tell you what I can’t believe this is happen to such a big company. I was order fitbit air that show in online that est pick up click and colloet is in. 2 days. The worstness I called customerservice for refund my money back they said I have to wait refund back when product on the way to shop.
What the hell. They make everything so difficult. And i cant believe this how big company work.
Such a nonsense
Ordered a laptop online. The next day Officeworks cancelled the order without any reason or notice. They claimed the refund was processed immediately when I called, but after two weeks the money is still not back in my account. I was forced to file a chargeback through my bank. Completely unacceptable. My funds have been locked for over two weeks, preventing me from buying the laptop elsewhere. Terrible customer service.
I regret dealing with them, order number 1021577350 on 18th of April and still on the 29th of April as order confirmed, I am travelling soon so I'm going to miss my planed gift. Thank you, you are very reliable.

Purchased a laptop 40 days ago that now has a confirmed cooling fan failure and overheating issue (HP diagnostics). Store only offered a 1-month repair despite reliance for study. Fair Trading complaint lodged. Manager just trash me off an told me to go that path if I wanted to. Show details
Why not clear the generic "Toner(K) is low. Replace when indicated" message to make it more meaningful? The abovementioned message appears at Bundoora store, so does at Chadstone store, it's even more confusing when the printing job is indefinitely hanging there. I ordered my two kids’ school booklist items from Officeworks online and chose home delivery. I received an email saying the order would arrive in two boxes. I called Officeworks, and they told me I had to collect the remaining items from a Pack & Send collection point. I went there today (16/01/2026 at 3:40 PM), and the staff member told me that if the delivery driver doesn’t have time, they just leave the items there because the next day they have more deliveries to do. I honestly didn’t know what to say.
I don’t want this to happen again. What should I do — should I avoid selecting home delivery?
I ordered a couple of years with OfficeWorks, but I used the click and collect.
Ordered a large size poster. Box came crumpled, poster crumpled. Tried calling customer service which says: we are busy call again later. Useless bunch, I want my refund ASAP.
My wife purchased a Cannon Selphy CP1500 Printerfor a Christmas gift. There was no indication on the packaging that ink cartridges were suppied or not, no mention at all. re-opened. It turns out they do not even supply the ink cartridges and you have to order the ink "Online" as this is clearly printed on the OW website which the sales rep saw when he was checking for me. Cost $50.00 The sales rep actually refered me to JB Hi Fi and they were also a better price than OW, $44.00 and in stock.

would change. Tried to contact local store in hope someone could follow up for me. They dont answer phones apparently and direct you to the website. So I emailed.... the reply we are currently experiencing high demands and cannot currently respond. Next the online service chat. Ai bot first then team member. Sorry that is from a third party supplier and we have no control. "Its your name on the website that sold the chair?" Yes but....Again complete deniability. Reported to consumer affairs at this point. Went to tracking page another delivery date change, but down the bottom it said cancel this order with a phone number. Rang the phone number and pretty sure the person was not located in Australia. I was very respectful, just wanted to cancel the order. The lady had a serious talking over the top attitude and would not let me speak. When I finally got a word in asking for a refund. I was told I could not cancel the order, that was with the warehouse. I explained the number was for order cancellations, her response ...so how did you get this number. Long story short, after trying to say that I wanted to cancel the order and get a refund I was told she can't do that. My frustration by this point was fuming. Contacted Consumer Affairs for the follow up and was told by them to do a charge back. So that's what i am currently in the process if doing. This whole experience has been a nightmare. You have a well known business selling products they dont have but are supplied and shipped by a 3rd party. They deny accountability. They offer no help, regardless that's it their name tied to the product.
Do yourself a favour, shop elsewhere, and I could have given a -5 score i would have.

I've rarely had anyone as helpful as William at the Punchbowl branch who went out of his way to assist me in finding the right product at a more than a reasonable price.
At Officeworks Fitzroy, the over-the-counter scanning of a standard, 69 page, A4 black & white document to my own USB and which took less than 60 seconds cost a massively overpriced $41.40. However, my letter of complaint to the store manager was responded to and I received a full refund. It transpired that the cost of 60 cents per page for… Read more
document scanning is charged by all Officeworks stores. In comparison, I recently had a 221 page A4 document scanned at Snap Printing. The cost was $13 (just under 6 cents per page). I continue to believe that Officeworks scanning price is unjustified, gross over-charging of customers. My 5 star rating for the Officeworks Fitzroy store is due to the store refunding the $41.40 (greatly appreciated) and for stating that print centre counter staff have been instructed that, in future, customers are to be advised of the price for scanning documents before processing the job.
I went to the Kotara branch today. All staff were friendly and smiling at each other as well as customers. Just read the bottom note, shouldn't say who served me and chased up a better product that I had not realised existed that will save me money. She and the others deserve recognition as great staff. Do not waste your money on this computer. I paid over $800 for this ASUS Vivobook at Officeworks, and it barely lasted two years before completely degrading. Andrew in the print department in Launceston desperately needs a pay rise so he can take his job more seriously - and a bit of customer service training won’t go astray. Officeworks. I walked up the the print counter with no other customer in sight, and his greeting was called over to me "Stand over there otherwise I can't serve you"; Me (puzzled) "oh, ok, but this is the print counter?"; I notice there’s a waiting spot 1m behind behind me and obligingly step back; Andrew arrives at the counter at his leisure "Yes, what do you want?"; me: "I have some printing here on my phone to email to you to transfer to your machine, can you tell me the address I should send it and I’ll type it in here and now and hit send” Andrew: "it is on a sign, over there, go and read it"; me (somewhat taken aback) "oh, I am ready to type it into my phone, you are standing talking to me, can you please tell me what it is?" Andrew: "no, it's on the sign over there. You’ll have to go and read it". I obey, send it, go back to Andrew. I quietly inform him that was really bad service. He takes offence, runs away and says he's not going to serve me. I go back behind the 1m line and wait for him to get over whatever it is that sent him off. He comes back a minute or so later, and says he will serve me now. He scans my bar code and does the printing. I tell him again “that was really not ok”.
Reality is, I got my printing. It wasn’t expensive. But at any price point, does anyone in management at Officeworks think it is acceptable for their staff to treat customers like this? Reality is Andrew is going through life thinking it is, and unless he is told, will likely indulge this kind of power play whenever he feels like it. I think it’d sensible for Officeworks have young Andrew into the office for a chat with the boss.

Self scanning is a rip off: I came to scan 140 pages of pre medic course paperwork, that due to being panelled on three days prior of commencement, Officeworks was the only place open on Sunday I could scan the amount of paper in one go to PDF. to assist/do the task; but I feel ripped off by being charged to self scan digitally straight to a USB. Due to the amount of pages, and nothing else open Sunday (eg: a public library), I was forced into using Officeworks. If I was panelled sooner, or had other options, there would be no way I would have used this service. Will definitely not think about scanning at Officeworks again.

out, my call was sent to an off shore call centre. The first person hung up on me after I told them my situation. The second person fought with me and told me it was not wrong, without asking for details about my PC or situation; she sent me a new email with the link asking me to try it and call back if it didn’t work. The third person was able to explain to me that they don’t have the delegation to authorise a swap, and I would need to go into a physical store. I live in a remote area, it’s not easy to juggle it with work. I was really disappointed with this. He encouraged me to call the nearest store. I tried them but they had a voicemail that said I needed to come into the store to discuss returns. I can’t speak to someone, unless I go into a store. I don’t want to spend more money and time unless I know it’s worth the trip. It’s really poor customer service. I used to shop there a couple of times a year, but out of principle now I’ll be going to their competition. If you can’t look after your customers with good aftercare, we’ll all be running to someone who will, or the cheapest option. Do better
