Olympus Mju 410

Good – I absoloutly loved this camera! I dropped it so many times yet it would never fail working until my little brother pourposefully pushed the lens in so he can break it as he was angry at me. I had a few dints and scrathces by the end of 2 years howeve the photos this camera produced, in my oppinion were better than my replacement 8mp 10Xoptical zoom camera. They had so much more colour and life. Rip olympus! Easy to use and photo quality was amazing considering i purchased it for around $200 The slide function didnt work at all times. Also when i connected it to the tv for viewing purposes the cover seemed as though it was releasing some electric current. zoom was limited as it was only 3Xoptical zoom
OK – Newer model has'nt got the slide mechanism, obviously a know fault on previous models. I have update to current mju model so far so good. Easy to use, great photos splash proof. childs play to use. Slide lens cover mechanism plays up. Cheaper to update camera than to repair.
OK – On the whole, a good camera, although a little on the expensive side when first purchased. Unfortunately, the lens switch became unreliable after about 14 months. This causes the camera to think the lens cover has been closed when it is in fact open, causing the lens to retract and the camera to shut down - very annoying, especially when it occurs just before taking a shot. On the plus side it takes superb pictures and is relatively flexible, with more manual options than I have ever used. Another negative is that the original battery charger failed after about 18 months. My experience with this camera has not been bad, although the problem with the lens cover switch means I would probably look at another brand for my next camera. Takes great pictures which are easy to download to a computer using the included software. Splash proof. Battery has lasted more than 3 years. Very compact. Lens cover "switch" became unreliable after just over a year. Battery charger failed after 18 months. Takes too long to take picture after shutter button is pressed.
Excellent – Overall it's a great camera. Easy to use, I particularly like using the software that came with it (Camedia Master) and use it to edit all my photos (red eye correction etc). The battery life seems sufficient. Nice and compact and also durable. I love the remote control! Compact, Water Resistant, Easy to use, Takes short video clips, Can choose picture quality. Remote control is a great addition. Has alot of features that I haven't put to use yet. Delay in taking shots (after pressing the button) leading to a bad shot if you don't keep that in mind. Alot of photos blurry if there is movement (in comparison to normal film cameras). Sound with the video feature would have been nice.
Bad – In hindsight I should never have bought this camera. There are too many bad points to cover the good. Overall it just doesn't seem to "gel" with the user. Has a good 20sec movie mode. Date mode. Weather resistant. Small in size. A lot of photos turn out fuzzy ( out of focus ). Battery can't be charged in camera ( has to be removed ). Battery cover sits under fingers when taking photos - easy to undo cover and drop battery on ground. Night photos seem to confuse camera - lens stays open longer than required. Software supplied with camera confusing to use.
