Pictures are terrible – It is a bit late to post this review now as this is a far superseded model, however from the moment of purchase I had buyers remorse. It was about the only camera at the time that could be dropped, go under water etc. They had that advert where the dog is chewing on it and playing with it. That part of the camera is fine, it is really quite sturdy and none of the seals have ever leaked or anything like that. The problem is the picture quality, it is awful. I can't remember taking a decent picture with it anywhere. That was my last foray outside of the Canon brand, never again. Waterproof, can be treated roughly without stressing about it. The pictures, which is essentially the whole point of it.

Good – The camera does what I wanted it to do - handle the snow, which it did quite well. The video feature isn't as good quality as my other cameras though, nor the photos, but quite OK for what it is made for. It did get water in it after a beach visit, but Olympus replaced it fairly quickly, so I was impressed with that. However, I am not not game to put my new one in water, as I am scared it will do the same, so that is a lost feature to me now!!! For a tough job, a good camera, but lose a bit in quality. Hard to see screen in snow or bright sun. This is one of three cameras I own, the other two being Canon. But I bought this one for the hardiness of it. You can drop it (so says the blurb when you purchase it). Not game to try it to see!!! Can be used in the water, on the beach, under the water. Also, which is why i bought it, it won't freeze at the snow, which I found with other cameras. It was true to it's word and didn't freeze. Very hardy camera for rough work. Not as good quality photos as my Canon cameras, always seems to be in wide angle when you turn it on, as it is an outdoors type of camera. Got water in it after the beach, which I wasn't impressed with.
