Very user friendly – This camera is honestly so fabulous; it's smarter than me! Ours has lasted 3+ years and it's still going strong, used almost daily with our 2 little ones. It's been underwater when we went shark diving, it's seen our 2 children born and taping all their milestones. So easy to change settings on it and understand what those changes mean even if… Read more

you don't speak technical talk.

One huge plus is it has a massive array of photo settings ie you can shoot for selling auction items online, certain lighting (sunset, cloudy, incandescent), and it's shockproof - I cannot tell you how many times its been dropped by our photo taking enthusiastic toddler! Shockproof, reliable, waterproof,

Good – I had a great run with this camera but just after a year it has given up. The warning that the cover was open stayed on all the time and doesn't even allow you to use it anyway. On investigation I found that the switch contact had corrosion and a years worth of use had taken its toll. I didn't think that I used it anymore than the promotional… Read more

material had said. It went around the world 5 times. Got sand in it in Hawaii. Cold in Finland and hot in Oz. Was used underwater in Kona and Tonga where it finally gave up leaving me in the lurch. I still rate this as great camera and I would still buy another Olympus but would not have an all purpose one. Final death was due to salt water and sand (not beyond what I thought that it should take. Great camera for go anywhere places. Dial function knob is small and fussy menus. Not as good pictures as I expected for general shooting. I always wonder why the other person gets better pictures than me?

Good – I love mine, but you must take great care to not get anything like hair or grit under the seals fast startup, wide angle lense, great pictures, take it anywhere, kid proof, the sealing system, it is a haven for sand and salt. wont charge off the usb when plugged into the computer.

Good – Great camera crushproof, waterproof, shock proof Although seawater is the number one killer for most cameras, the 1030SW is rugged enough for your diving trips. Take note that the camera is waterproof only up to 10 metres. Beyond that, the pressure will depress all the buttons, rendering camera operation impossible. If you are looking to dive… Read more

deeper, consider the optional underwater housing PT-043. This will let you dive with the camera down to a depth of 40 metres. The camera comes with a set of proper cleaning procedures in the user manual when it is used in saltwater.

Another extreme feature of the 1030SW that sets it apart from the rest of the SW-series is its ability to withstand pressure of up to 100 kilograms. So you don't have to worry about the camera being at the bottom of your bag when packing other gear into your bag. Versatile, easy to use and can be used in practically any situation.. its a bit to heavy for a compact camera 173 grams (excluding memory media and battery)

Excellent – This is an excellent camera. It has a very user friendly menu system. The photos come out great and when you take this camera with you, you feel confident to carry it around with you, not being worried that if you accidentally drop it or if a little water comes on it will be useless. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this… Read more

camera to anyone who is an outdoors person, who likes waters ports, and anyone who's last camera was wrecked from water or dropping it. tough, shock proof, water proof, easy to use, good quality build, great photos, good battery life, videos are good quality. Also another great feature is that its response time is very quick when you press the button to take a photo. you cant zoom when taking a video.

It uses XD card. Why cant they all just use sd card?

Good – This is a good camera with fast shutter speed so you never miss a moment. The only catch to this is that you don't preview the photo instantly, but rather have to turn the dial and "play". You can use this camera under water which is ideal for snorkellers, boat tours, rainy days, wet water rides. At least you'll know that your photos are safe when… Read more

the water hits the camera. At first, taking photos were a little blurry, but after while it just takes a steady hand to take great clear photos. Great camera overall. Waterproof function is great for snorkelling or those rainy days. Compact camera. Takes a little getting used to its features; a little expensive.
