A huge mistake – The lesson is not to trust Choice magazine. After a glowing review we fitted 6 in our house. Turns out they were only ever available with a remote, which is a giant pain because the remotes die after a while, and anyway finding a remote the kids have left in a darkened room is a joy. Due to their weird non standard construction they can't be converted to a wall control, so now we have to replace 6 fans we can't use that are only 6 years old. They were discontinued in 2011 but apparently they are still available. Another issue, we broke the glass bottom on one in 2009 and Omega told us they didn't keep spares, which is actually illegal. After telling them we were going to prosecute, they simply pinched a shade off another fan. Please, please, don't buy these fans!
