Bad product – I bought this Gas Cooktop from Good guys 3 years ago. It has 5 burners. It works OK for this first 6 months, but after that nothing but trouble. Only 1 or 2 burners can be operated at a time. They randomly works on and off. 2 gas burners out of 5 not working at all. We service the Cooktop and it started working normal for few weeks then again failed again. Cleaning this cooktop is a nightmare. Takes longtime and very difficult to clean due to the way the parts built in. From the outside it looks nice. This is the reason we bought this.
I don't recommend this product.
Pros: Looks nice. Initially, during first 6 months, worked well and was smooth to operate.
Cons: Not working properly. Only 3 burners out of 5 in operational. Also you need to press the ignition switch many times to get the burner started. Very difficult to operate now. Cleaning this product is very difficult and time consuming.

VERY DISAPPOINTED - SHOULD HAVE SAVED MY MONEY – Having expanded the size of our family, I needed to more burners so replaced our 4 burner Westinghouse with this 5 burner Omega. Big mistake!! I can only get a pot of water to boil on one of the burners, and surprisingly it's not the Wok Burner. I contacted Omega's agent in Australia and the service was absolutely disgusting. Talk about rude! They couldn't care less that I had issues with my appliance. Eventually, a plumber came out and said he couldn't find anything wrong with it - it's just the way it is. So now I'm stuck with this piece of rubbish. 5 burners After sales service, burners not hot enough, over-priced piece of rubbish
Good – I purchased this cooktop in October of 2009 when I purchased my house and was not happy with the cooktop, oven and rangehood that the previous vendors had. I looked at many options in regards to the cooktops with the cuttings because I wanted something with a wok burner and this one had it and also was a perfect cut for the benchtop. Works well... looks great, everyone comments on my new kitchen, however the last week the middle wok burner will not light. It is clean and I've properly looked after it but there is no spark whatsoever when you go to light it. The other four light instantly. As it is under warranty I have to call OMEGA to come out for a service call. I called The Good Guys where I purchased it to discuss the matter with them firstly, they got me to re adjust the burners and whatnot, still nothing so will call OMEGA on Monday! Other than this minor hickup which I am sure can easily be fixed, it is a great unit and does a wonderful job. Just have to make sure you keep it clean constantly otherwise cleaning can be difficult (but that's with all cooktops anyhow!) 4 burners plus a wok burner, stylish, slim line, fits well on the benchtop, spacious for all your pots and pans and wide enough to cover the 60 cut out on bench. Stainless steel is difficult to maintain and middle wok burner not working at the moment.
fair – We bought this product about 4 months ago and to be fair, it hasn't missed a beat with performance. It is however, horrible to clean, and the knobs are not s/steel but are plastic with some sort of s/steel looking material over them which has melted and lifted on 3 of the knobs. I can imagine, that over the next year, with cleaning it will look quite old, as it is already deteriorating.
Bit of a shame we didn't spend a bit more on a better quality product. reliable. fires up first go every time. melting knobs. hard to clean. deteriorating quickly.
Good – Top Italian designed cooktop which does everything well. Clean fit against benchtop. Two year guarantee and competitive price. Only problem could be difficulty in cleaning s/s tray without damage. Wide enough to cover 60+ cutout widths. Lots of space and good ignition. Smart styling. Cleaning s/s top could be an issue.

The electricity went out (blackout) last night and the omega gas top would not light up-----how come?---i thought it was separate and did not need electric connections (that's why we bought it)----when the
electricity came back on the gas came though.....but not 'til then. ?????
