For the want of a little bit of carbon – Not a lot of use,one brush seized in holder and burnt wire in the motor.Still plenty of brush left but jammed in holder.

Easy trimming – I purchased this hedge trimmer in February, 2006 from Bunnings for $30 (just found the receipt) and felt if it lasted the warranty period of 2 years I'd be happy but it's still going strong years later. I find it light enough to use and when I use it, I tend to cut back everything in sight. No half measures here. I've been surprised at just how easy it is to operate though I'm always wary of having an electrical cord trailing behind me. My neighbour borrowed it and when she gave it back to me, she said she'd had a great time cutting everything back so obviously she enjoyed using it since it made all that hard work so much easier.

As I said, it comes with a 2 year replacement warranty and if I had to buy another one, I know from experience that Ozito would be a brand I would feel confident in buying. Light enough to use and does a great job on hedges and other shrubs.

Ozito HT-501! a must buy! – Ever had that annoying hedge that you have to constantly cut? And your battery powered hedge trimmer won't charge? and your petrol one keeps stuffing up? I do the occasional Lawn mow and hedge trim and tree removal for the old/er people in my street and when I need to borrow my old mans trimmer he showed me this Ozito unit from Bunnings Warehouse.I was considering a Homelite electric hedge trimmer one for $60 with a 17' bar but the Ozito has a 14' one which is just fine for Small-Medium hedges or shrubs. At first I didn't expect much but boy o' boy for $50 bucks providing it isn't too thick, this little unit will cut through anything! Like any cheap tool.

Treat it with care and don't thrash it to death then it will be fine! Safety feature! Hold two buttons down for it to work! It's electric plug in and go! The handle is easier to use, so it doesn't hurt your hands Tie a knot in the extension cord with the trimmer.

Excellent – A fantastic hedge trimmer for its price for small to medium home DIY jobs. It is compact and light so it is easy to control. But the blade length is a bit shorter than most other trimmer which is why it is recommended for small to medium jobs only. I find that the chord retainer does not hold the cable very well and so it keeps disconnecting. But I just tied a knot in the cable and that seems to have fixed it. Very cheap and compact. Has all the usual safety features as bigger hedge trimmers. A bit awkward to hold in the vertical cutting position. Chord retainer a bit loose.

Excellent – I've been using this trimmer for about 14 months on a variety of plants, both heavy and soft duty and has never failed on me. Light and easy to use. No cons so far.
