Brilliant oven. I love it! – I was scared when purchasing a new microwave because nearly every review I read was critical and I'd had a couple of bad experiences recently. The idea of a flat bed was very appealing. The first microwave I ever owned was a Panasonic and it was brilliant (the best brand I'd ever used by far). I did a lot of reading before finally choosing the… Read more ·  1

Panasonic NN-CF770M which is a flatbed inverter microwave with grill and convection capabilities. It is excellent. Very intuitive controls - easy as to use! (With past machines I often had to study the manual to remember how to perform a simple operation!) It cooks superbly. I have used the defrost, microwave and reheat functions and the convection quite extensively and all work perfectly. Haven't yet tried the grill or combination cooking. I hope the latter works well as it's a great way to roast meat to make it tender and full of flavour. Would be handy if the grill works as the only other grill I have is in my wall oven and I don't like having to turn the big oven on for a small grilling job. The oven also looks good. I bought a trim kit which was a challenge to fit and not particularly well designed in my opinion but it looks good once it's on. Child lock is a practical feature too, especially as I had my wall oven mounted lower than usual so the microwave above it is at chest height, since I use if 100 times more frequently than the oven. Flatbed is much easier to clean and use, and the interior of this oven is very streamlined. Overall, an excellent device that I recommend without hesitation.

6 days of underwhelming performance – I bought this hoping it would replace my old microwave and my air frier, both of which were showing their age and needing to be replaced. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. Purchased February 4th, and it died on February 10th. I got 6 days out of it before it cut out half way through cooking a pizza and wouldn't turn back on. During those 6… Read more

days I was quite unimpressed with all aspects of the unit. Microwave was slow, grill was slow, convection was slow. It took 30 minutes to cook something that would take 12-15 minutes in the oven or air frier. It also had a weird smell every time it was on convection or grill.

Thankfully the people at Good Guys were really helpful and refunded me straight away. I've since bought a Westinghouse microwave (no grill or convection) and a new air frier, I'm really happy with them so far. Finger's crossed the new microwave lasts a bit longer than this thing.

Impossible to clean – I purchased in August 2019, and use it only as a microwave. However, I find it IMPOSSIBLE to clean the ceiling of the microwave. Throughout winter we heat soup, and even though we use cling wrap to cover the bowls, it often bursts thru the cling wrap, and then hits the top of the microwave. The top has 3 fluorescent type globes and a wire… Read more

I like it – I previously owend the Kmart Micro/Convection Oven and while it was okay, this is so much better on a number of levels. It has better convection heating and the maximum temperature is 250 degrees. It has a temperature setting for proving bread. I haven't used it yet but plan to. I cook my roast potatoes in the oven on really high and can get… Read more

great potatoes in about an hour.

I don't use the preset functions so will not write about those.

Yes, there is a condensation build up if you use the microwave, I cook my porridge in the microwave on low and by the end there is condensation build up which does drip out when you open the door but I wipe it up and then turn the oven on to 250 degrees for 5 minutes to dry out the oven.

On the down side, the viewing window is not very bright so if you have the sun in your eyes or the sun on the window, it is difficult to see. The light within the oven is not very bright in my opinion.

The microwave is not as effective if you leave the oven try in while trying to microwave so remove the metal tray, you don't get sparks but it works better without it.

The unit does not have a rotating plate but that doesn't fuss me, it is getting use to it after having a plate that rotates for such a long time.

All in all, a good machine

Very slow and uneven cooking – The microwave function is a lot slower than other models I’ve had in the past. The controls are intuitive to use but that’s about the best I can say of this appliance. The grill is so slow as to be virtually useless and the combination cooking takes far longer than the instruction manual says. A baked potato should take about 14/15 minutes on… Read more

auto cook, but it’s still raw at the end of cooking and so I have to put it back in for a second, third and even a fourth time - which means it actually takes about 45 mins to 1 hour - and even then the skin still isn’t crisped. Also, the door becomes incredibly hot during combination cooking. I had thought this would make a good replacement for my old Sharp grill/oven/microwave with turntable which lasted me 10 years and cooked a great baked potato in 12 minutes, but the Panasonic is really disappointing and I now only use it for microwaving because it’s so unreliable for anything else. This means that it’s a now just a big expensive ‘microwave’ taking up a lot of space in my kitchen. I plan to replace it ASAP, and I’ll research the different makes much more thoroughly next time. Maybe all flatbed inverter combinations just don’t cut the mustard, I don’t know, but I’ll avoid them in future. This review was ‘in mediation’ for at least a month but as I’ve heard nothing in response from Panasonic, it’s now being published without waiting any longer.

Good value for the price – I bought this microwave after having had a dismal failure with another brand which had to replaced twice in less than 3 months because of faults with the turntable which just stopped working. This appeared to be the only true flat bed inverter convection microwave available at a reasonable price and so far I'm happy with its performance. convection component works well and cooks evenly, although it does require a little experimentation to ensure cakes etc, are fully cooked. Have generally had to add a few extra minutes to the cooking time. The microwave function also works well and the suggested timings for different items listed in the manual are fairly accurate. So far no disaster and no overcooking. It has lots of programming features and auto-menus - perhaps a few too many, but I guess someone with more time can explore the many features available on this oven. The flat bed feature means that you can put far more in the oven than in a conventional microwave with a turn table. Again a little experimentation is required - eg. using more shallow cookware. The interior is relatively easy to clean as it is stainless steel. Unlike my previous oven there is no moisture condensing internally on the oven door so it clearly is well sealed. Unusually setting the time on this oven is done with a rotating dial - something I had not seen before but it works well. My only gripe, it seems to work in 10 second intervals only. It is not perfect however. The fan is noisy and as with all convection microwaves, it is difficult to clear behind the grill. When will someone develop a microwave with a drop-down grill?? My other gripe is the high gloss finish. Surely someone can develop a microwave oven with a matt glass finish? Whilst it looks good when clean, the oven door is soon covered in finger prints so requires cleaning after every use. The lights on the display as well as in the oven cavity are far too dim as well - it's difficult to see what is happening in the oven without opening the door and the display light is only clear close up. Please change the lights to something brighter! So all in all, whilst not perfect, this is good convection/microwave for the price. PS - Just contacted Panasonic as one of the silicone feet on the trivet went missing and it cannot be used without it. (I did check online to see if they could be purchased separately, but no luck.) They have sent me a new trivet at no cost, even though the oven is no longer under warranty. Great service and highly recommended!

Spacious and good for reheating buns – I have Breadtop buns every day as breakfast. It takes too long to heat up the buns with my big built-in oven. This microwave is very good in warming up the buns and pizza as well. It takes about 10 minutes. The buns are like freshly baked. It is very spacious inside and with a long plate, I can warm up 6 buns for the whole family in one go. … Read more

However, I didn't use it for baking potato or chicken. The microwave function is good as well. The previous one last for about 7 years and I replaced the light bulb once. When it was broken down last year, I bought another brand. Regretted. Then replaced it with this Panasonic model again. Will not try other microwave oven in future.

On the other hand, the price is considered quite expensive. Therefore, I think the manufacturer should offer at least two years' warranty instead of one.

Very disappointed – Sadly my Panasonic NN-CF770M died last night. It is 5 years old and the second one I've had in this time. The first one had to be replaced within 6 months of purchase asit kept breaking down. As it was an expensive item $900, I'll will get a quote to see how much to repair. I would not purchase another one. I have found the microwave part is quite slow compared to just an ordinary microwave. Show details

Flatbed microwave – The Panasonic flatbed microwave is excellent. Having no turn table makes fitting different shaped dishes in the cooking cavity easy. Heat is distributed evenly so cooking is even. Placing and removing items is easier as no tray has to be allowed for. The controls are simple to use. It is a good kitchen appliance.  Show details ·  1

A little disappointed :-( – Having owned a multi function oven in my previous house (it was built in or else I would have taken it with me) I purchased the Panasonic NN-CF770M with the hope it would do everything it said it would. immediately for me - Great service. The second unit - the microwave function takes double the time of cooking as the instructions and heats unevenly. I haven't had a flat bed unity before so I'm not sure if this is the reason? I use the convection oven function a fair bit - it all seemed to work very well until a few weeks ago when it just cut off half way through cooking and rendered the whole system to shut down. The only way I could get it to work was to turn it off at the power and leave until the next day. It turned back on and so far so good. Im not sure why it shut down. I have used the grill function a couple of times and works ok. It is easy to clean but the cooling fan is quite noisy. The unit looks good.

Good microwave and oven not so good grill – I've had this microwave for almost 2 years overall I'm pretty happy with it except for the grill. microwave as it seemed to be underpowered. I would follow directions on packets and always found I needed to put things in for longer. I no longer have this issue as I found that you're not supposed to use the glass tray when using the microwave. As all my previous microwaves used a glass dish so this never occurred to me. Even after checking the manual it isn't made clear. Now that I've taken the glass tray out everything comes out as expected and I'm really happy with the microwave function.

The only issues I've had are with the grill. I don't use it very often but found when grilling some sausages it overheated and completely stopped working. I took it in to be repaired (no longer under warranty) cost about $140 to fix but still cheaper than replacing. I tried again to cook sausages and once again the exact same thing happened. The repair guy advised that it was just getting too hot when using the grill causing it to fail. Once again I repaired it as I was happy with the other functions.

I would recommend this product but recommend only using the grill for quick things such as melting cheese.

Terrible microwave ok oven – Simply the biggest mistake you could make if your after a great microwave. Side by side with other's microwaves we own this often takes TWICE as long to heat a simple dish. As an oven it is OK just make sure not to burn the rear of your dish as it doesn't spin. Use it all the time – Bought this on the recommendation of a friend but they had an older model. Probably not quiet as good as I thought it would be but having said that, I still use it virtually daily. The oven feature I use a lot rather than heating up the large oven. in increments of 10 seconds. Another quirk this model requires a larger clearance around it for proper ventilation even than some larger models. Like others have said the cooking does seem a bit slow and it's supposed to be a 1000W microwave. At $588, the mark up on this model seemed high. Google searches at the time showed NZ prices were $100 cheaper than the price I bought it for. This exact same model was sold for $476 by Masters in 2015. I'm wary about the exposed grill elements and catalytic interior back panel. I much prefer an all metal covered interior for easier cleaning. Will try roasting with the convection function in the near future now I've bought a steam roaster microwave accessory made of silicone.
