Panasonic NN-ST676M

flimsy rubbish – Microwave latch broke early in the piece, alterations worked but more and more things have deteriorated although the oven itself has worked well (what can go wrong with a microwave?) looks good but is quite average in build, suggest lighting a fire and using the old way of cooking unless you live in a cave then it would be good to cook rocks, the light kept needing replacement.
Bad – Panasonic should be more honest and either make known the fact that the standby power is extremely high or spend a dollar or 2 more in the design and manufacturing of the inverter microwave to eliminate this BUG like with reviewer unknown, inverter heating is more efficient for low-power settings I measured the standby power at 80-81 watts. THIS IS PHENOMENAL!! Why did Panasonic release a product with this wasteful feature??? This is around 700 KiloWatt-hours per annum just to keep it plugged in!!! I am paying around 17c per KWhour, so it costs be $120 per annum to keep this appliance plugged in
Excellent – We bought the NN-ST676M for the size and looks mostly! Upgraded from a tiny 650W microwave and haven't looked back. It's fast and efficient, good size for a family, looks nice on the bench (without dwarfing everything else), easy to clean, and easy to use. I like the touchpad options, it has a good number of programs for different types of food so you can set things going with only 2 buttons and the LCD screen clearly shows where things are up to. VERY easy to reheat frozen leftover meals on sensor reheat, the machine also beeps twice about 2 minutes before it finishes cooking to warn you that it's almost done - handy if you're cooking something else on the stove and want to stop it at that point until the rest of the cooking has caught up.
The metal-look casing is easy to keep clean and doesn't show up fingerprints, the front needs a bit more effort though. The door opens easily without going too far and knocking anything.
One of the more compact in size able to deliver this capacity of cooking, not so heavy either compared to other 30L+ microwaves.
Haven't tried the child lock, weight sensor or delay features. Sensor reheating, easy to use touchpad, fingerprint resistant casing Auto defrost sometimes overheats
