Panasonic NV-GS230

Good – I bought this camera to use as a deck to upload my footage from my larger prosumer cameras. I went for this as it was a 3CCD camera which I could use as a back up for my bigger cameras as well as a deck for uploading footage to my computer. Compared to other small 3CCD cameras I have used, the footage quality on the GS230 didn't stack up. The quallity is ok but nothing to write home about.

This would be a good camera for a beginner shooting personal footage for home use. Compact size and easy to use functions. For a 3CCD camera I thought the image quality was average.

Good – For the price, this is A1. NOT a professional camera, but not aimed at that market OR price either. Great quality images in most conditions. Simple to use with a good navigation and menu system. Bought in preference to the HDD and hybrid models cause of the quality combo of 3CCD and mini DV. Size and weight - this camera is small but GOOD 3 CCD image quality
