Peg Perego Skate

Love it with a few tiny faults! – I really do love this pram. It's one of the only 'luxury' prams that fit in my boot (Prius). It is a large and somewhat heavy pram, but folds quite compact. It is easy to maneuver and fold. Has a telescopic handle and cna used in forward facing or facing toward parent and can be folded in either direction - which is a feature that I personally… Read more
love. Do not like the 'freedom of movement' harness, so have screwed it onto the pram and use a pram liner over the top.
Awful! – At first I loved the pram but now after only three months, it is giving me problems. It won't fold at all!! The wheels buckle if you push it too fast and it bounces when pushed. I wouldn't recommend this pram especially for the price I paid. I expected better.

Peg perego skate – Great looking! Very cool. New born bassenette works really well for bed time and cruising streets in. Filding starts to get dufficult partner oiled joints better than ever to fold. Great basket drink holder ect. Toddler seat spacious spacious spacious! Cosy and breathable in summer with netting option on hood. High chair at coffee shops turn… Read more
facing table pefect. Older son can stand on edge walking to school. Cannot walk at all on grass front wheels are too thin. If u run press buttons on wheels for straight pushing then no wobbling occurs. Gutters painfull have to put back foot on to lift and over step edge. If you live in the suburbs gorgeous pram , not suitable for country living. Easy to wash need lrg boot if your not into taking wheels off to compact it each time.
Best pram/stroller ever – I absolutely love this pram, I have the 09 model & I can't complain. The bassinet feature is fantastic especially since I was going to work with my son, he was able to sleep comfortably in my office. I love the 3 seat heights, it's perfect when going out, it means I don't have to use a high chair. I've noticed people have said its bulky, when… Read more · 1
in forward facing seat mode, I just put the whole thing in my boot no problems & I have a Nissan pulsar.
The one negative I will mention is the weight of the pram, it gets a bit much on the back. But other then that it's the best pram I've bought. Height settings, ease of handling Weight of stroller
No regrets, love this pram – I have had this pram for 1.5 years now and would highly recommend it. The bassinet had lots of room and was deep providing lots of protection for my winter baby. I would walk to the shops daily and load up the area underneath with groceries with no problems. Supermarket carry baskets fit easily underneath to save holding a basket and pushing pram.… Read more
The bassinet also worked as a great overnight crib for few trips away.
Once using the stroller seat there is still ample room underneath but this is limited when child is facing forward however generally my son prefers to face me and this only really matters when grocery shopping.
The hood provides lots of sun protection with a mesh visor at the back for ventilation and to view the child when forward facing, this is very handy feature.
Overall would highly recommend this pram. It is very easy to move around and narrow enough to go most places. So many options with height and forward/rear facing/ handle bar height means both my husband and I are comfortable. extremely easy to steer, narrow frame , 3 height adjustable, several recline positions, large hood for sun protection, baby forward and rear facing, fit loads of shopping underneath. All accessories included, drink holder, rain cover takes up a lot of boot space but ok if you have sedan/wagon. Occasionally if on very uneven road surface (cracked footpaths) bassinet would shake and move baby forward so need to go very slow in these cases, no problems on flat or indoor surfaces.

Regret buying – I was tossing up to buy a steel craft strider or the skate and I chose the skate but regretting now. It is twice the price, the wheels buckle if you go over a certain speed, seats bouncy, bassinet needs the same security as the strider (Velcro that goes around bubs tummy). Not very happy considering the price would think it would have been a lot… Read more
better. It is a good pram if you don't want to exercise while pushing your pram. Although it is very easy to fold but you can only purchase peg perego capsule for travel system which is quite expensive and heavy. Lighter in weight, easy to fold, easy to push (skates along), reversible seat Wheels buckle when walking fast, seats bounce, handle is loose after tightening
Changed my mind - reduced from 5 stars to 2 stars – I gave this a 5 star rating back in July when we bought it. I've since completely changed my mind. It's probably a problem with this specific pram - just out of warranty when we bought it - and I suspect that's why it was sold. When we unfold our pram, it has two click positions - one low (too low for my tall husband to use) and one high. From… Read more
the 'higher mode', however, it clicks down to the lower position within a few minutes use. Sometimes the whole frame goes lopsided. This collapsing motion happened once while I was crossing a 6-lane road and I couldn't manoeuvre the pram! Luckily I was able to back off just before the lights changed.
It probably isn't a problem for a shorter person who doesn't need the taller height.
Googling around it's not an uncommon problem. Frame is dated October 2010. The frame is completely riveted together, so any internal cabling (to collapse and open the pram) is not accessible. It seems anyone who has had this problem has had to have the entire frame replaced. So if you're outside of the warranty period when the problem occurs, you're in trouble.
I also had to chase around with multiple phone calls and emails until I found the Sydney repair shop. Seemed well made when we tested it Collapses, causing a potential safety hazard
Good and Pretty – My baby loves this Pram, either facing outward to do window shopping with me, or facing me to talk with me. It is very easy to maneuver, easy to fold, can be placed in our Honda Euro car. Also, I love its big storage space, it is flat and can be placed a lot of bags. The one I don't like is sometimes the front wheel will be locked by itself, don't know why. Easy to fold Suncover is not big enough for baby's leg

Great pram! – I like this pram. It's easy to use, light, comes with a separate bassinet (which we used in until bubba turned 3 months when she started getting big for it) and there's lots of room for baby to sit in. It comes with a cup holder, there are 3 seat reclining positions and it comes with a basket to store things in beneath the pram, the seats are… Read more
reversible, the handles are a bar going across and are adjustable and soft. The canopy covers a lot and has a mesh part which you can peek through and is detachable. Another part it comes with is a bar which my baby loves as she always places her feet over it lol And it comes with a rain and cover as well as a weather cover too (like an outer blanket) And looks pretty funky too!
After using this pram for a year I have noticed some disadvantages though.
For instance, where the attachable cup holder is positioned isn't the best. It's on the side of the pram and the amount of times I scrape past things and I have even had to remove it to fit through aisles etc... There's these Velcro parts at the bottom of the seat (around where the babies feet are) which attach to the frame of the pram - these always detach and it looks cheap when you see one part of the foot sticking up. Getting accessories for this pram isn't as easy as going to a specialty baby shop and purchasing it - for instance I want to get the food tray which can replace the bar however they don't sell them in Australia. And I also lost the protective cover which covers bubs from wind etc and trying to get a replacement is hard. Easy, lightweight, reliable, funky, spacious for bubs, reversible seat, comes with bassinet Position of cup holder, Velcro constantly detatching, can't get certain accessories in Oz, and hard to get replacement parts
Great pram – I have used this pram for 7 months now and I love it. It is very easy to maneuver. The basket underneath is huge and I love the fact that you can just remove it when you get to the car and not worry about unpacking it before folding the pram. I also love the variable heights of the seat. My son can be quite high and I find this great. I still have… Read more
my son facing me and he loves the interaction. When he is ready I will turn it so he is facing outwards. The only improvement that I would suggest is to make the sun hood even bigger or allow it to "follow the sun". But I have worked around this,so it isn't a show stopper. Looks great, smooth ride, easy to push, features, accessories Second seat doesn't have sun cover, bigger sun hood
Terrible – When i reviewed this pram it was over 1 year ago and the write ups where really positive and had a 4.5 star rating now its down to 3.5 star rating. This pram is unsafe and i don't know how it passed Australian saftey guidelines. I will be making a complaint to the ACCC and The Department of fair trading and product safety. may harm your baby! It looks good and it worked well with the car seat. Well where do i start. I wanted this pram so much and i had a huge fight with my husband over the price but he got me one and boy do i regret it.
The bassinette is so rocky and bouncy. If you put you baby to sleep in the bassinette you have to put the harness on or he/she will slip down the end and their legs will cramped up and their little face will go under the covers and nearly suffocate your baby.My baby girls is 9 months old and if she sits right back her head goes in a angle because it is too short in length. Worst of all is the "Freedom of movement harness" what an absolute joke. When the harness is out of the slot my little girl falls forward and hits her head on the carry handle but if you take the carry handle away she flips forward and is hanging with the harness straps scratching her delicate skin until i push her back. My little girl is a mover and can move the shoulder straps down and nearly stand up and fall out of the pram. My husband caught her the other day before she fell to the floor. My husband rang head office and they haven't got back to him yet. I hate this pram!!

LOVE IT!!! – I have had this pram for 7 months now and I love it.Easy to move around, great looking, safe, lots of storage spase, easy to change levels for baby, comfortable, not to wide, fits great in my car. It's the best money I have ever spent.I have had Emaljunga with my firist child, paid $1800 for it,but Skate is soo much better!!!Did I say that I love it!??:) love everything about it!
Bad – I wish this pram lived up to what it was on paper... Even halfway! It is not only disappointing but downright dangerous; between the bouncing seat/bassinet, the rediculous freedom of movement harness and the shallow seat depth, it is downright scary to use. I can put up with the size and weight of the pram. It is quite heavy and bulky, as others… Read more
have mentioned, but I took that into consideration when I bought it. I still love the functionality of having baby face me and up nice and high. Even if I could put up with all the issues though, the pram is now too short for my average height 12 month old so I have to replace it. I really couldn't recommend this pram to anyone. On paper and in theory this is an awesome pram. I love the functionality: the ability for the seat to tranform from bassinet to seat (2009 model), baby can lie completely flat and horizontal, can have the baby facing you or facing forwards, nice steering and big wheels, baby is high up in the pram, handlebars are height and angle adjustable. Having my baby high up has been fantastic. I can wheel the Skate right up to a table and he is the right height for it. I love that. The bassinet is nice and deep and a good shape. The pram itself is a nice shape - the back wheels aren't too wide - and for this reason it fits places that a lot of other big prams don't. Unfortunately the negatives of this pram outweigh the positives, especially as baby has gotten older. I had to start using the harness quite early on even in bassinet mode because the pram and the bassinet itself bounce around so much. Once i was walking along with a blanket over the handlebars for my baby to sleep and i saw his legs had bounced their way out of the bottom of the pram! He seemed to slip down in the basinet then the extra weight at the bottom put it on an angle, and he simply bounced out. My baby is 12 months old now and this pram is almost unusable. Firstly, the freedom of movement harness is completely useless. The back of it has a small slot which is supposed to slot into the seat cover - it comes out all the time and my baby flips forward and I have to catch him. I can't believe this wasn't a safety recall as it is very dangerous. I was having to leave him lying down in the pram to prevent this. Recently I put the front bar on and started using just the bottom part of the harness like a 3-point harness so that he can sit up. I just have to be really careful because he can move around a lot. The seat is not deep enough, so my baby pretty much hangs by the harness rather than sitting. I have adjusted the crotch strap length either way and it makes no difference. Now at 12 months he is too long for the seat as well, so he has to hold his head a little to the side when leaning back - and he is not tall... Only 50th percentile! Generally the build quality of this pram is pretty awful. We got the side pins fixed in the safety recall but the seat still bounces around like crazy. The studs for the basinet front cover have almost ripped out and the studs are reeeaaally hard to undo.

Its Just plain OK – I had this pram bought for me for our first child and overall its heavy, bulky and almost anyone who wants to use it will have to study the manual thoroughly first! While it looks good and does have some pros, i myself wouldn't spend this much on a pram that just isn't quite right for its price bracket. Like many others i still can't work why… Read more
my little man is to long for it so when he's sitting up he get a crooked neck and when he's laying down...well he can't do that comfortably at all. The bassinet may sound great but we found we had the put weight in the bottom just to keep the blood from running to bubba's head! it will rock and tilt constantly. Also like many others i find the 'freedom of movement' harness ridiculous! he can wiggle out the harness and thus we find him 'totally free' to fall out of our moving pram!
I am sure this pram can be good if you actually designed it and know the total ins and outs of it. At first i was left dumb founded about the harness and jilting bassinet not to mention all the clip here, slide there, pop this and zip thats! So enjoy a good looking pram by all means but just like fashion you'll pay the price. adjustable everything and machine washable. the harness, the bassinet and need to have 'pram degree' just to use it. Its bulky, heavy and can be to wide for shops
Versatile! 9 mths on and going great – THis pram is extremely versatile given its ability to transform from bassinet to stroller as your baby grows and its needs change. The bassinet was wonderfully comfortable and much more padded than the bugaboo. The height of bassinet/stroller is adjustable (unlike most prams) so at its highest, it is table height and protects the baby from people… Read more
sticking their heads in as they always do. Didn't have to use the harness until bub was sitting up. Can face towards or away from you.
Easy one hand steering. One of the slimmest prams around, you don't get stuck in aisles like you see so many people struggling with the Strider.
The two part pram meant it was light enough for me to put away 4 wks after c-section.
Handy cup holder can be removed for those extra tight spaces.
I walk a few kms with it every day and it is still going strong. versatility, comfort from newborn bassinet to sit up stroller. squeaky suspension
Great pram – I have had the skate for 18mths and love it. Has been great for newborn and also good for my toddler. I like how well it can be used for baby and toddler. I have often used the bassinet on the floor when visiting people. shopping. Love the adjustable handle and height of pram so I didn't have to bend too low for a newborn. A little bulky in the car, but comes apart an back together easily. Had trouble after a lot of use getting it to stay in the flattest position.
Smooth ride – My skate came with a stroller seat and separate bassinet. We have only used the bassinet so far. just need to get a few things. You do need a large boot space. Comes with a rain cover which is easy to use. I love this pram and can't wait for bub to grow and use stroller seat. Easy to use. Need large boot space to store.
Excellent – LOVE LOVE LOVE can't wait till babe comes along and we can use the pram- I love that not every second person has this pram, it's quite unique, unlike the ones you see everywhere - ie- Strider.!!! Everything snaps on and off very easily. Steering is amazingly easy...one handed even. I have the kiwi green colour which is awesome- and my car seat matches. The hood is huge, the rain canopy zips onto the hood....which is a fantastic idea, it pops up so easily, I hate those prams you have to shake around, and hence probably damage to open!! I was also looking at the baby jogger but it is sooooo heavy to put in/out of boot. This one is much easier to manouvre. Easy to fit thru doorways, not a wide wheel base like some prams. Definitely a winner We did trade in our car for one with more bootspace (and passenger space) as the pram is quite bulky. But thats hardly a con.....
Good – It is a great pram (if a little heavy) I would get it again - but a few improvements could be made. There are lots of things I love about this pram - it is easily manoeuvred, the hood is large which gives good sun protection, the bassinet converts into the seat. There is no window in the hood to see the bub, the latch gets stuck when tilting the seat and the raincover does not have a flap (to reach in if a dummy comes out).
Excellent – I bought this pram after SO MUCH research. It was a lot of money but came with all of the bells and whistles, and most importantly to me, my baby could face me. Fifteen months later and I still love it. It is a dream to maneouvre and has many different settings for baby (height, incline) and parents (handlebar, incline). My toddler is as… Read more
comfortable now as he was as a newborn. I am considering whether I need a stroller but cannot find something that comes anywhere near my Peg, so think we'll stick with it until he's no longer in a pram. I haven't found a shopping aisle I can't fit through. Fantastically tight turning circle - almost spins on itself. Can turn to face you when bub is small, then turn around when you and your little one is ready. The rain cover and footmuff are also great. When travelling, the pram doubles as a highchair as the height can be raised or lowered (very handy). Adjustable height and incline for handles (caters for different heights beautifully). The front wheels (which are smaller) can sometimes get caught, which is not dangerous, just annoying but doesn't outweigh all the great things. It's heavier than a lot of other prams, but can be loaded in and out of the car in two pieces, if necessary. A more secure basket underneath would be great. You can't run with it.
Terrible – Do not buy this product!, spend your money wisely...do more research on the perfect stroller/bassinet for your child...might be worth it to buy them seperately...it looks good, but looks don't keep your child safe! it's nice looking and easy to maneuver, not with one hand though. We used it wonderfully as the bassinet. Stroller...so far has been a… Read more
nightmare! At first we thought our little girl was just moving too much...but after looking again we noticed that she was constantly sliding down the stroller chair which made it look like she was standing, not sitting...with the harness and without the harness she can fall forward completely...not safe, not sturdy, not worth $700-$1000 we're paying for it. Surprised that Peg Perego is a top of the line product when clearly ppl have been having so many problems with the skate...apparently the 2010 has had all these problems fixed, but how is that going to help me now? We've just turned it into the stroller after 9 months since we used the car seat to attach to the base to push around...not impressed that such an expensive product, known for high quality products, has so many issues and unsafe ones to boot. Would never buy another Peg Perego product again. Not a happy customer. Head Office says they will replace the frame, but I have a feeling this will not resolve the issues since so many others are complaining that their child is sliding out of the chair and the harness is not holding them in.
OK – Had this for over a year now, it serves as the workhorse for carrying our pride and joy. Still going strong after lots of abuse and use. Just be prepared to do sumo squats everytime you load it into your car, it is heavy... but sturdy! Great build quality Exceptional flexibility Can carry a lot of stuff Weight, it is a heavy beast! Large (a good trade off for being able to carry a lot of stuff I guess)

hopefully carry both children comfortably. I can't think of another pram that I like even half as much as this one! It is easy to manouever - even one-handed; I love that my son sits up nice and high, it can be used in place of a highchair when out and about, the storage shelf fits heaps of shopping (if I have him sitting facing me, I can fit two jumbo boxes of nappies on it, along with a few grocery bags!!!) which is much better than a basket, the 'freedom from movement' restraints mean my son can reach his lunch on a table and feed himself as he does in his highchair at home.
When he was younger (he's one year old now) the bassinette was fantastic and in the inbetween stages it was great to be able to have him sleeping fully enclosed one minute and sitting up when he woke up. The drinks holder makes the pram too wide on the side. It would be better if it could be attached to the handle bar. The drink and snack tray that is an optional accessory in the US, isn't available here.
OK – If the harness was different, I would give this pram 100%... it's such ashame considering how expensive it is.... It even didn't bother me that the pram was a little on the heavier side...... I love the versatility of the Skate.. Being able to change from bassinet, to slightly more elevated is great! It is so easy and smooth to maneuver... I… Read more
always got compliments! BIG BIG negative is the harness.... I am still shocked that it was even allowed to be sold this way. The harness is only in a slotted hole, which constant came out.... Not happy about this at all... Also, once i turned it into a stroller, it isn't very deep for baby to perch his bottom in... My baby constantly slid out, and the harness, which isn't securely fastened, made baby fall face forwarding!!!!
I have had to purchase a stroller, so my baby, now 8mths, would be more secure, and comfortable.

Great storage basket.
Compact and modern design makes it 'the go anywhere' pram! The '5 point safety harness' is a very bad joke... when the 'freedom of movement' design feature is added, YOUR CHILD CAN FALL FACE FORWARD and can\will end up on his\her head!!! This is for the 08\09 model. I've been informed by the store where I purchased my Skate that "Peg have taken into account all 'those' issues and the 2010 model is new and improved"....and no longer does that!
Terrible – So very disappointed with this pram and most of all the assistance from the distributor in Australia and there lack of service in terms of resolving these issues. arrived only to find that if they do not replace my pram with the new model (that has had improvements to address the previous models issues) i will have to purchase a new pram thus being out of pocket $100 for the pram and $350 for the capsule as it only fits the skate frame. I encourage as others have suggested please contact the Dept of Fair Trading with your complaints. Great funky look and the fact that you can fix the capsule to the frame with great transition from car keeping bubs asleep! The bassinette is very rocky and as such the bub slips down to the end of the bassinette under the cover. And it has so much movement that every bump you go over rocks the pram and wakes the baby! The cup holder attachment piece constantly falls off and the screw comes apart. The worst part of it is the harness and the fact that it is is intended to have 'freedom of movement' the practical reality is that the child is not secure and constantly reaches forward or bobs forward and hits their face on the black bar. It is a nightmare and is only getting worse the older he gets!
How did you go with Fair Trading?
Terrible – All those who have the same issue with the Harness should complain the the ACCC, I have and the more that complain the sonner it will be addressed as a problem. It is only a matter of time before a child is hurt in one of these prams. complain now and lets work together to get our money back! Unsafe Harness

reviewer mentioned about brakes not working, I found that after reading the instructions you do need to maintain them with a little oil...no probs after this. The pram is very versatile with many positions for bub to infant. I found that this pram was a very good fit in the boot of my hatch back too. This pram is a little on the heavy side. I don't like how the safety harness isn't secured at the top..it's secure around the middle though so it's not like a baby will fall out or anything. I had to get a universal shade cover also because one isn't included.
Excellent – Overall as mentioned I just love this pram and quite sad that I will be selling it as I have to get a double pram. research and found quite mixed reviews but decided to go for it anyway and haven't looked back. I love the ease of move from sleeping bub to sitting. Bub is always comfortable and he loves facing me and looking out at the world. There is no basket underneath however I find that there is so much room for my shopping including my bag and nappy bag that this is a great benefit. Nice and slim line, I have never had problems going through shops or aisles. It can turn on a coin. I actually have two prams as this pram is not very good on outdoor terrain so would never take it walking or running. Its quite heavy and takes up a fair bit of room in the back of my car.
Terrible – Had there been more reviews about this pram 1 year ago we would have never purchased it. This pram is terrible, it should be taken off the market. also has a big bump in the middle so baby is not laying flat and slips down. The brakes are VERY difficult to engage, and when you do get them down its extrememly hard to put them back up again. Within a few months and with little use the pram will not "click" into place from the folded position to back upright, therefore, making it useless. Lastly, the handle to get the carriage from laying down to sitting up does not always work.

But for us, it meets all our needs and our baby loves it! As stated in previous reviews, the Peg Perego Skate is fabulous and was the only pram that had all of the features we were after. It converts easily from a pram with a bassinet for a newborn (up to 9kg) to a stroller in which your little one can sit at various angles, heights and directions (up to 15kg). We especially like the ergonomic adjustable handle as we're quite tall parents. We have used the bassinet as a cot when staying at friends places and the forward facing seat option as a highchair in restaurants. It is easy to move and seems to just glide smoothly along, whether you're on the pavement, grass or rocky ground. It fits easily through the cashier aisles at the supermarket and can get in and out of tight spaces in shops relatively easy. It also looks extremely stylish and we always get comments on what a great looking pram it is! But the real test is that our baby loves it and always looks so comfortable in it. There's not a lot to dislike about the Skate, but it is not a compact pram so you need decent boot space in your car (we have a station wagon and it's no problem getting it in and out). We bought ours before they released the matching Skate bag in Australia (which is at additional cost) but we have managed to store quite a lot of items in the net holder underneath the pram, although I try not to put heavy items in it as I'm not sure how strong the netting is. Owing to its cost it's not really the pram to buy if you're planning on adding to your family as it doesn't come with a toddler seat/board add-on option.
Excellent – Best purchase I have made for bub. Extremely happy with all aspects of this pram. Definitely worth the money spent. This pram just keeps getting better as my baby gets older! Converts from pram to stroller easily so baby can sit in stroller and look around then sleep in basinette when she gets tired. The seat can be rearward or forward facing.… Read more
Handle is adjustable for taller husbabnd!! Lining is very comfortable, is fully removable for washing and high quality fabric. Extremely easy to push and turn - even with one hand! I looked at similar models of convertable prams and decided on this one as it is made in Italy rather than China and generally seemed to have higher quality materials used to manufacture. It is a heavy pram to lift in and out of a car. I live close to shops etc and walk most places but if you regularly use a car the weight of this pram should be a consideration.
