Philips Norelco Bodygroom Pro BG2040

Absolutely Fantastic - One of the Best Investments ever – I purchased the Philips Bodygroom Pro after reading mixed reviews (most of the very few negative or not so positive reviews were based on the usage of this). I must say I am absolutely blown away by the quality for the price of this unit, $99.95 from the Shaver Shop, free delivery (two days) and extended warranty are some of the few good points. It is extremely easy to clean, run it under a running tap, lightly tap on the sink and you're all done.
This is a full body groomer and easy enough to use on underarms or those private areas that can be tricky, because of its soft edge teeth, there is absolutely minimum chance of grazing or cutting your skin in the sensitive areas.
It is a self sharpening unit and doesn't require any lubrication.
Usable in shower is a bonus. Instructions are very easy to follow.
In summary, this budget unit is waterproof, easy to clean, powerful, versatile, I don't know how I managed without it until now.
Top of the range?...but room for improvement – The Bodygroom's primary use is for body hair and not facial hair, so anything below the neck is fine. It's ideal for men who want a full body shave. It shaves adequately but not quite close enough for this user. You'll be shaving more frequently compared with using an epilator or wax strips which do a better job at removing hair but the upside is there's no 'ouch' or skin irritation from shaving.
When using the 3D pivoting head the battery on full charge will last over one hour. On the other end the trimmer will last 40 minutes with continuous use. A combination of the two heads will give over 40 minutes of shaving time.
The Bodygroom comes with an attachable plastic head that fits onto the end of the trimmer and can be adjusted to trim hair from 3mm-11mm. Being 100% waterproof it works fine in the shower. Taking both heads off to clean them following the instructions is initially a little tricky but easy once you know how. Modern, ergonomic, feels good in the hand. Shaves adequately, no skin irritation. I researched men's body shaver's extensively before buying this one and it is good. Overly long recharge time. Recharging time from completely flat averaged a little over 8 hours. For such a small battery that's excessive. Couple this with the fact it can't be plugged in and run off mains power (only recharged) this is the shaver's main imperfection. However most men can do a full body shave in under 45 minutes and place it on the recharge stand.
This does the job for me but the 8 hour charge time is a pain in the #ss. I think the idea is to keep it charging while not in use which in this day and age wth ever increasing Electricity is a bit dumb if you ask me. I unplugged the charger after it had fully charged and didn't use it for a couple of days only to find that it started dying after 10 mins of shave time, so back on the charger for another 8 hours = Dumb Idea
