It's impossible to put together I smashed it – Great vacuum cleaner if you use once but how to put it back together the locking system sucks. I looked on YouTube most said same problem I smashed it trying. DO Not but this vacuum cleaner it's a nightmare worst ever. It's terrible terrible useless useless frustrating should refund all purchasers ever. Show details
Great for it's price – My review is for the Piranha Sapphire. I have had this vacuum for about 2 years now and the suction is still pretty good and it can still regularly pick up the hair, dust and dirt that often accumlates around my house. With regularly maintenance (cleaning of the filters), this powerful vacuum should do the job for most people. The wheels are… Read more
fairly basic but the machine is light and pretty easy to maneuver. My two qualms are that the hose/main pole are both short, so you can't be too far from the machine/have to bend over if your tall and the brush toggle for the head is quite poor. Otherwise a great unit that I recommend for those that are budget conscious.
Piranha 's the best – I chose Piranha as I had one before. I love the ease of holding it and using it. It catches all the dirt with no problems and i got a bonus small hand cleaner which picks up the dirt with ease.. its light and easy on y carpets and tiles in my 3 bedroom house. Show details
Bloody Bewdy, – Hi there ! Have only had it for a month but am so pleased with it that I wanted to tell all. I was a bit sus prior to making the purchase..,Was thinking ? ,2400 watt motor and no messy bag, all for approx $100.. Too good to be true? Well, I had no need to worry because Ii is A BLOODY BEWDY. and I certainly highly recommend it A ,one… Read more · 1
more thing ,its not as heavy to carry around , as other smaller less powerful one"s I"ve had over the years.
Works great for us – We have ceramic tiled floors and no carpets but the pet hair, uninvited bug guests, cookie crumbs, etc this vacuum does the trick. I am glad we bought it and look forward to many years of service.
For the price, a pretty good product – It's cheap. It isn't going to be perfect. But for the $89 I paid for it, I can't complain. The suction is amazing. As long as you keep the filters clean it will do a fine job. Sure the power cord it way too short, and it does overheat after 45 minutes of hard work. But wait 30 minutes and you're back in business. For me, I do downstairs one… Read more
day, upstairs the next and have no problems.
We live in a dusty neighborhood so filling the tub takes only a single vacuum, but once you get the hang of pulling the cleaner apart and putting it back together it's a breeze.
It's a Corker! – I've had mine for a while now and it's still going!. I've had a chance to compare it with a Dyson.....vacuuming the car carpet and there is not much difference. Picks up pet hair very well. Cleans hardwood floors well and skirting edges On board tools aren't as good as a Dyson's. Oh, I wash the filters out regularly, the main filter is a little bit tricky, but otherwise well worth the $89 i paid.
Piranha Sky Vacuum 2400 watt exploded! – Had machine since November 2013. Seemed to work well in 2 bedroom unit - carpets only in bedrooms and cleaned each week. Has overheated a couple of times and again today. Machine stopped so I cleaned it as recommended even though I do it regularly. Didn't reconnect the hose. Machine started but after 10 seconds the motor exploded with smoke and soot everywhere. Good power when working! The problem experienced today
Not worth the money!! – This vacuum is a total waste of money!! Mine is taped up, pole won't go back down its jammed, the head is taped on to hold in place because the wheels keep sliding off, hose bit keeps coming out when pulling along makes cleaning even that bit longer, cord is too short we connect ours to extension cord. Will not buy another piranha brand again! Cheaply made for the price you pay
These vacuums are a joke – These vacuums are a joke , I hate mine. It's noisy , cord to short, hard to put everything back in place once filters are cleaned, do not buy. The amount of money I've spent on cheap vacuums could have brought me a dyson. I'm going to buy one now
Overheating issue – I've had two of these piranha sky now, both overheated within 10-15 mins of use, took the first one back and got the 2nd as a replacement, still have the same issue but found out if you leave it for a week or so it will work again. Was happy with how well it cleaned and all the attachments that came with it, but the overheating thing happened as… Read more
soon as i first used it. I checked to make sure that I had removed all packaging etc but no, it just has bad ventilation so it always overheats. The attachments and suction Overheats and you do have to empty it a fair bit, very noisy and putting it back together again after emptying is a huge challenge.
Brilliant, considering the price – I first bought this vacuum cleaner because it was cheap, intending to buy a more top of the range one when I had the money. Had it for a year and a half, still very happy with it. The power suction is brilliant, removes three dogs' worth of pet hair out of deep pile carpet. Only downside is the constant emptying of the vacuum cleaner, and needing… Read more
to clean the filter every second use. It's not easy to reassemble after taking apart to clean, you have to be slow and gentle. Well worth it's money though.
I give 4.5 stars out of 5. Powerful, brilliant at cleaning pet hair, cheap. Needs constant emptying, filter needs to be cleaned too often
Great value for money – I bought the Piranha Sky at kmart for $80-$90 and worried about buying such a cheap vacuum cleaner, my previous vacuum was an upright Dyson but i wasnt happy with paying $800 again for an average product. The Piranha Sky has excellent suction it lifts my carpet up it has so much power. Easily sucks up hair, cotton, etc. I have had it for 3 months… Read more · 2
now. I recently cleaned the filter which was filled with dust and small particles it sucked up, and still didnt loose suction with all that built up in the filter. it uses 2,000kw of power (something like an electric kettle). Its nice and small to pull around and put away in the cupboard. I am very happy with my purchase. value for money, excellent suction The cord is a little short.

Great we cleaner – I'm really happy with this vacuum cleaner. The motor is powerful. I do have a small pug and had no trouble picking up his hair. We brought him over from New Zealand where it was really cool to QLD Australia and he didn't stop molting. This vacuum cleaner held up to this fine. The only thing I didn't read the booklet and the filter got so full of… Read more · 2
dirt it started making a funny noise. I read the booklet and found it had a filter. Once I cleaned the filter it went like the day I brought it. The motors not overly noisy,
I have told my daughter about how happy I am with it and she has brought one since. Everything
It sucks! Really well! – Tried this at a friend's house and was amazed at what it picked up. The motor is powerful for such a lightweight unit. I don't have pets and I usually only vacc once a week and yet I am amazed each time how much this little vacc picks up. I don't find the motor to be overly noisy, in fact it's quieter than my previous brand, yet more… Read more
efficient. The hose is long and the rigid part is long enough for me not to feel that I am bending over it too much.
The brush bristles are excellent on both tile and carpet flooring, popping up and retracting to good levels.
Although the barrell is easy to empty, I prefer to empty and clean my machine at the same time.
The whole unit is very plastic and does take some thought to putting it back together after cleaning. If you take time and follow all the markings it's not too difficult but I do find I have to clean it at least after every second use, which may bother some frequent users.
I don't think this machine is practical if you need to clean a whole house every day, it would just get frustrating having to clean and reassemble the unit all the time.
Having said that, the reason it needs cleaning all the time is because it is a very very effective machine. Unlike the $1000+ models, it will not maintain suction as the filters fill up but I think that's a small inconvenience considering it cost me less than $70!
As I only use mine about once a week, I rinse all the dust collection parts each time (including the concertina filter, after brushing as much dust off first), under the tap then leave it all to dry until next use.
I would have loved a spare filter to come with the unit I cannot use the cleaner again until the filter dries (usually 24 hours). Great price, excellent suction, lightweight, easy to empty. Filter clogs quickly, cord could be a bit longer, would like a spare filter, but hey....it's a bargain.
Cheap and good! – Small and powerful! Noise is about average for a barrel vac, good job on carpets and hard floors. Pet & hair pickup as good as possible, without using a rotary brush head (which will always be superior). Lightweight. Gets used daily in small 2 bedroom carpet + hard floored flat - shows no real sign of breaking. Warning: The cyclonic action isn't… Read more · 5
as good as $1000 units, so be prepared to clean the 1st stage HEPA filter after every second use. To do so you need compressed air (and an outdoor area) to do it, or be prepared to wash it by hand, and allow it to dry. Having said that the HEPA filter is very well made and traps 99%+ of dust, so the secondary and exhaust filters hardly ever need cleaning. The only other gripe, is that the index marks used to line up the components during assembly need to be clearer - it takes a few times to get used to re-assembling the thing. Cheap, Powerful, Does the job, lightweight. HEPA filter requires maintenence alot. Cord could be longer.
