Polaris 9300 Sport

The worst – Issues in no particular order: - when not in operation it floats in the middle of the pool - lifts off the bottom of the pool (despite troubleshooting all the steps in the manual) - gets tangled on itself very easily - drives over the leaves - can't pick up twigs - just terrible value Show details
Rear wheels at hub fall off – I have had my Polaris 9300 sport for less than two years. The right rear wheel fell off and then the left one fell off the following day. I have contacted zodiac five times with pictures but have received no reply. I only came to find out this model was discontinued due to this defect and it should've been pulled from the shelves prior to my… Read more
purchase. I am now left with a piece of junk a very expensive piece of junk something should be done by zodiac to settle this issue with me.
Junk! – At the beginning it worked well but after 2 years it does not climb the walls and it remains on same spot and I have to pull it with the cable so to make it cleaning a different part of the pool. Tried to get help from Zodiac but the only solution they give is sending the crap robot just for diagnosis for around $100, repairing cost apart! Not worthy that price! Show details
No good. Spend more money keeping it running than the price – I've had a Polaris 9300 sport for less than 3 years. I had it worked on last year because it was not cleaning the pool. I had to put 2 wheels on it and a new filter bag because it ripped down the side and wouldn't hold any dirt or debris. Today I go out to clean the pool and the light keeps flashing and go off. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. It's a junk!! So frustrated. Not worth $1500.
Wheels breaking around the hub – After a couple of years, the wheels are cracking around the hub and breaking off. The material is very thin in the hub area. This is a very poor design and I would not recommend the 9300 sport because of this problem. The overall performance when everything is working is OK; however, the poor engineering and parts design will lead to an early breakdown.
Junk-Junk-Junk – Well lets see every year I have to replace the filter because it rips (65.00) yes maybe it's what I vacuum. Now 3 years later it has stopped working the lights just flash I am angry to say the least, it only gets used 6 months out of the year twice a week it has failed way to soon. Don't buy
absolute junk quality - motor died after ~100 uses, at 1400$ it makes 14$ to clean the pool – rarely used (less than once a week), after 2.5years just going to the wall because one side motor died, opened the compartment - one tiny motor 20$ to replace if available - no way have to pay 440$ + 10$ shipping for whole "Polaris 9300 Motor Block W1895A". Junk quality! I have my onga pool pump going strong for 10+ years with more than 4hours of operation every single day. DONT BUY!!!!
3 years and totally rebuilt – 2 years warranty is not long enough. Just ordered new consul $415.00 out of warranty :( Has been basically rebuilt by Zodiac. Warranty service differcult at times and not sure whether I would buy a Zodiac product again :(
Polaris 9300 sport Zodiac in Melbourne – I have owned a Zodiac Polaris for a couple of years. The unit works fine and had no problems until the wheels started slipping the gears. The unit stopped working and just sat in the middle of the pool. The unit was out of warranty so I had to see what was wrong so I could buy the part to replace. The problem was with one of the wheel motors… Read more
within the motor block itself. I opened the motor up and the plastic gear cogs inside had worn down. No problem I thought, I will get what I thought was a $2 part or at most I thought $25 tiny wheel motor and replace it. It was such a simple fix I thought. I called around and called zodiac but they would not sell me the wheel motor.
The only part to fix this is to buy a whole new motor block at $450. There are 3 motors in the block and I only have a problem with one motor, so at $450 it just seemed outrageous to say the least. Thats almost half the price of a new V3 which is on sale now. So I would say that this unit is a throw away and be aware that the unit may only last a couple of years before you have an expensive parts list to buy.
I am an electrician who has experience in repairs of larger motors so thats why I thought I could fix the polaris wheel motor, and I could if only the parts where available. Looks good Very expensive to repair. Breaks down with cheap internal plastic parts.
Buyer beware zodiac product fail too often – Sold as one of the high end pool cleaners with a high end price. Both front wheels cracked off within 18 months of purchase even though it was only used once a week. We sent it in for repairs after just after the warranty period and zodiac virtually replied that they will strickly only cover there products until the the last hour of the… Read more

Polaris 9300 review – Purchased a 9300 two years ago big pool 16 metres x 6 metres, use to spend hours scrubbing and cleaning pool, since purchasing the polaris I run once a day and the pool has never looked better no more wasted hours cleaning. I have two big trees that drop continuous leaves into the pool, have had about 6 pool cleaners in the past all get choked on… Read more
the leaves cant handle them the polaris never stops or get caught, run the pool pump less hours and dont have to clean the filter as often as the rubbish does not go into the filter at all great product would buy again.
My only complaint the wheels are only about 1.5 mm thick at the hub and this week went to pull the pool cleaner out and both wheels had separated from the hub, but my pool shop guy said no problem, they may be able to get replaced under warranty (6 weeks over the 2 years)
Replacement wheels are on E Bay USA $15 each will go that way. More time swimming practically no time spent cleaning Poorly designed wheels
Polaris 9300 – I've had this cleaner for over 12 months. It can collect larger debris than my old Hayward Pool Vac as it couldn't cope with a lot of leaves. However, fine silt is left on the bottom. Australian pool shops don't seem to sell the fine debris canister . We have a 2.5m x 14.m pool and it can't scrub the lower sides well, if it doesn't come up the… Read more
wall head on, it rolls over, its a waist of time. I wish I'd kept the Hayward. Collects large debris Leaves fine silt and misuses a lot of the wall when scribing
Good, bad, ugly - my experience so far – Good: Super easy to set up and use. Works very effectively in most areas although does have difficulties getting to tight areas. Does occasionally get caught up in its own cord. Easy to clean and stores nicely. Bad: Does leave some debris but overall acceptable. Then it slowed down and konked out.(2 months old - being used once or twice a… Read more
week)After contacting very helpful retailer then had to deal with Zodiac after sales service.
Ugly: Slow to get repairer on-site. Repairer replaced motor and checked it worked then left. Half an hour later has stopped working again. Have to wait another week for repairer to return. Great service Zodiac! Buyers beware there a lemons in any mass produced market. Will wait to see if I have done my money big time. Easy to use and clean, stores neatly. Quite efficient (when working) Unreliable, expensive, warranty service questionable and slow.
Find out how Polaris 9300 Sport compares to other Robotic Pool Cleaners
Know better, choose better.
Don't waste your money – I spent $1,500 to buy a Polaris 9300 robotic pool cleaner. It is less than 12 months old and has numerous faults. Even when working it struggles to clean the pool effectively. I would not waste your money buying one. Cord twisted and it goes around in circles, tyre tread wears down quickly, filter basket split, after sales service very poor.
I have one as well and have encountered similar problems. I wouldn't recommend either and Polaris after sales service leaves a lot to be desired.
Does a great job BUT – I did quite a lot of research and bought this one because it can climb walls and do steps. It does that well and I cannot fault it. But then you are buying the top of the range. There is one big drawback that nobody wrote or told me about. You can not leave it and or set it to operate when you are not there. I imagined I would be able to… Read more
leave it on a timer and let it do it's thing when I was away.
Forget it. As automatic as it is, it needs you to press a start button.... FRUSTRATING !!!!
Robotic but really needs crutches. Cleans effectively It is automatic only after you have physically pressed a button. This is stupid.
try setting up a timer that finishes short of the timer cycle - so 1:45 if the unit is 2hr - then… Read more
Almost perfect! – Very easy to use and operate. Lower it in the pool and push start come back a few hours later and the pool is clean. Did the steps easily and right up to the tiles. Filter basket is easy to clean and haven't run into any of the problems the previous reviewer stated. Compared to the old kreepy krawly this thing is brilliant! Pool has never looked… Read more · 1
better. Yes it's not perfect but show me one pool cleaner that is. Will sometimes leave a few leaves in the bottom if the day has been very windy. Highly recommended! Reliable. Works every time Sometimes a few leaves left in the bottom. But I can't think of any pool cleaner that gets every single thing. Every pool requires some human attention.
