Invoice (Twice), when I called and spoke to the manager (before even mentioning why I called), he said they are still waiting for the invoice from the Car Dealer? And yet Finance through Private Fleet was ready to go as they knew all the figures! (which would imply they would have had to have received it already) After questioning the situation, he advised they Do Not receive commission from the Dealers, So clearly the only way they make money on the Deal is to Actually buy the Car themselves and then to on sell it somehow? A Few things gave me a Bad feeling about Private Fleet that it prompted me to pull the pin, Non-Disclosure (appeared to be a deliberate attempt to not disclose the truth). Figures quoted over the Phone, e.g. Stamp Duty, buying from a Different State that were way off. Finance Department Falsifying income to get the Loan approved, no Income figures were ever mentioned, yet finance documents had a figure that would be double the actual Realistic estimate earning for a Tradie! Thankfully I Received a refund after pointing out their dishonest business practices, and mentioning I had spoken to Fair Trading. This is my personal experience, as an Individual looking to buy a car. Your experience maybe different. Cheers

May 5, 2024, to purchase a car through their service. After a discussion on May 10 with several representatives, I agreed to purchase a Kia Sportage. I was assured that the car would be delivered within three weeks. I paid a $2,178 over the phone, including $2,000 as the vehicle deposit and $178 as a membership and service fee. However, no receipt or proper breakdown of the charges was ever provided for the $178, which was highly unprofessional.
The purchase agreement I received listed Parramatta Motor Group as the supplying dealership, and I was instructed not to contact them directly, as all communication would go through Private Fleet. The estimated delivery date was set for June 20, 2024.
As the delivery date approached, I received no updates from Private Fleet. When I reached out on July 22 ( 1 month after the estimated delivery date), I was informed that the delivery date provided earlier was incorrect and that the car had not even been built. Instead, they vaguely promised delivery in September and offered to refund my deposit if I decided to cancel.
Given the repeated delays and lack of transparency, I requested a refund. To my surprise, they only refunded $2,000 and withheld the $178 service fee, claiming it was non-refundable. This fee was never disclosed as non-refundable at the time of payment, nor did they provide any meaningful service to justify it.
On August 6, 2024, I formally requested a full refund, citing their failure to deliver on their promises and the unfairness of charging a service fee for services they did not provide. Despite numerous follow-ups, my emails went unanswered, forcing me to escalate the matter to the ACCC and Fair Trading. It took over four months of persistent efforts just to recover what was rightfully mine.
Adding to the confusion, when I tried to verify details with Parramatta Motor Group, I was informed that the contact number provided in the agreement belonged to Private Fleet, not the dealership. This lack of transparency further underscored their unreliability.
Frustrated with the experience, I placed the same order with Phil Gilbert, and to my amazement, the entire process—paperwork and car delivery—was completed in just seven days. This stark contrast highlights Private Fleet’s incompetence and inefficiency.
If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, avoid Private Fleet at all costs. Their misleading practices and lack of customer care make them an organization that cannot be trusted. Save yourself the frustration and deal directly with a reputable dealership instead.

If you're looking to buy a car and you have the cash or have prearranged a loan, give Private Fleet a go. They will get you a very good price. Could I have gotten the same price? Maybe, but the thought of haggling with the car salesman nauseated me. Most happy.
Sabine worked miracles to get me the car I wanted and to have it delivered ahead of schedule. Sabine is super friendly and a true professional. Nothing was too much trouble and her communication was outstanding. I cannot recommend her highly enough and will be recommending her to one and all.

process management meant to move a vehicle that was sitting ready at the dealer from Melbourne to Adelaide took 5 weeks, with me following up with numerous emails and calls. I also found a car cheaper, in stock and ready collect locally with 1 phone call to a local dealer, however Private Fleet refused to refund my deposit. Just use them to find out a price and then go to a local dealer who should be able to match or better their price and save you a lot of stress.

Do it yourself – Was promised savings of “$2000 to $3000” yet the deal was done at a price I could have bettered just by walking into the dealer. This service should be avoided, saved me nothing, cost me a fee.

Dodgy behavior - better go somewhere else – Dodgy behavior. Would not agree to give quotes in writing. Demanded credit card details and deposit in order to negotiate the car, without sending any written text about the terms and conditions of the transaction. Tried to use scare tactics. Not recommended

Price after long delays ie they failed. I then asked them to advise re an Xtrail and they came back with just the standard special offer on the Nissan website and could not improve . I dropped them and pursued latter car with a dealer and got an excellent deal with good discount . They wasted a week of my time
