complaint about the 2-year warranty by encouraging me to send in a list of required details for consideration. But with no hot water I had to get the compressor replaced pronto, at half as much again as the unit originally cost, after which Quantum stopped responding. I now realize that I will never recoup through the lower running costs the extra capital cost of their unit over a simple immersion heater, not having taken into account the equipment failing. I would never deal with Quantum again after this experience.
Research Heat Pumps then go to Quantum Energy – Fantastic service. I previously had the older but equivalent Heat Pump system and it performed extremely well. 15 years now and finally needed to replace the system. Great solid systems without any digital frills. Less risk of breakdowns. New systems have too many electronic features which are usually the first parts needing replacement. Don't bother – I've hard two of these units at two of my properties. Total garbage. Components rust out in the top of the unit. Both unit have failed to make it to the 4 year mark before dying. Show details

A piece of junk and poor after sales service! – Having done alot of research in 2015 we ended up choosing a Quantum heat pump hot water system. had to pay for a new compressor. The cost was nearly $1200 to replace and came with an additional 1 year warranty. We had no choice and organised a replacement. The tech also advised us that the top of the tank was rusting out and will not last to much longer. Roll on another 2 years and the power starts to trip and we found out it was the hot water system on the blink again. We had another tech out and sure enough the compressor was on the blink again. The control board had rustes off and the compressor was stuffed again. I told him to pull this piece of junk out and replace with a reliable hot water system The tech advised Quantum use to make reliable hot water heaters but they steer well away from them these days. I didn't even bother contacting Quantum as I knew from past experience how they operate so just replaced the system. Please see my photos below.

Failed compressor at 2.5 years but repaired promptly – This is my 2nd quantum heat pump. The first one lasted 12years. The compressor failed at 2.5 years, just outside the warranty period. I contacted Quantum and they extended goodwill to me by supplying anew replacement compressor at no cost, which was fitted at my cost(about $600). Great – Purchased model 270 11ac3 134 new in 2008. Had an issue with thermostat after 5 years but was inexpensive to fix. Recently changed the anode myself for $126, and flushed the tank and no sign of rust. Drip tray under the heat pump (on top of the tank) is rusting but will last as long as the system. Live in Queensland and it works well in the humid conditions, and has provided reliable hot water for the past 13 years. Show details

upon this company, their product's are tenth rate and should not be on the market.
To give you just one hint of the depths of their deceptiveness and how little faith they have in their own products- they offer a 5 year tank warranty. Most, if not all manufactures say to check the sacrificial anode after 5 years. Quantum, knowing their equipment is such junk, changed the terms and conditions (without telling anyone) from 5 years (like everyone else) to 3 years for an anode check / Replace. So given 90% of people don't have any idea what an anode is, let alone it needs to be checked and possibly replaced after 3 years to get the 5 year tank warranty is ridiculous.
There are many other issues with this company and its products but there is not enough time in a day to start, so please, you have been warned. This company is one of a few company's that have given the heatpump industry a bad name.
Convinced this company is some sort of scam – Paid $3200. The unit sat under cover for a year before installed on build. The unit was 1 year old when we recieved it. rust have to pay the plumber again to install something else. Plumber told me not buy quantum at the start I didn’t listen. Quantum representative just laughs at me when I call says the unit is not repairable. Because it has to be installed by a plumber the contract is between a plumbing supplier and the plumber. Plumbers don’t want to take their suppliers to fair trading over a 3rd party product in a customers house. Scam scam scam

been trying to contact the quantum rep to no avail. It would cost $2000 to repair and going on advice from the mechanic, he’d been called out 4 times for same unit, better off to stick with standard hot water cylinder! Steer clear!

prompt to order parts required from Adelaide. Due to lockdown, there was a delay in parts arriving on time and we had no Hot Water for a week. However when parts arrived Techn went out of his way to fix the unit. He came at 4:30 am in the morning and worked on the unit for two hours to replace compressor and other associated parts. I thought it was excellent service carried out. My sincere appreciation to the professionalism shown by the Service Technician. Hope company improves their product line and keep giving good service to the customers in future to attract more customers.

Forget any spare parts as they will not sell them to you instead advise you to go to Bunnings. Zero Stars for service and spares. Do not buy. Save your money and buy a standard electric or gas heater much much cheaper, you can get good deals shopping around. Don't be conned by STC rebates, not worth it and you will regret expensive purchase. The landfill is full of these duds.

service centre closed, had to ring repair agent direct, wont touch it without a warranty card from quantum, even though he has been out here already. Ive offered to pay direct, no spare compressor in Perth. Ive had no hot water for 3 days. Enough is enough, iam replacing the unit. stopped working. Its compressor had burnt out. Cost: AU$1200, so there go the savings. Quantum Energy told me it was out of warranty (the compressor was only under guarantee for 2 years!). When I called and said that I expected more than 6 years of a water heater (my fridge is 20 years and still going strong), I was told that this hot water heater was a very complex system with a variety of parts. Exactly, much more is bound to break down in the future, and all are out of warranty. To add insult to injury, my NRMA home/contents insurance apparently did not cover compressors. Not happy.
Greatest piece of expensive junk you can ever buy – On our second one. First on was replaced under warranty after 12 months. Second one started rusting of the condenser drain tank after 12 months. cover for the cold water or the poor quality of this leaking rusty unit. Hired a plumber to change the release valve, still no hot water. My kids constantly suffered from cold showers in winter for FOUR years, until it died. Quantum is the biggest scam. Beware save your money, time and energy.

they are a bit noisy, but its on the far side of the garage. The previous neighbours never said anything, but the new neighbours did. Youd think when the old house got pulled down and they built a new one , you wouldn't put your master and main tv room next to a garage side with a solar hot water system on it!!!! five years, plus the thing that stops the machine from rusting. There is no warranty to cover the compressor after 2 years. It seems like a known fault. Apparently the installers make massive money pushing them on to customers. Yes, we did save on electricity costs after our old electricty system was replaced, but NOT worth the initial outlay then only 5 years later over another, $2000!!! We have decided to get gas connected from the street and get a huge gas system, it's still cheaper than getting our heat pump replaced. Totally ridiculous!! Do NOT waste your money on these huge machines. Our plumber has had so many phone calls about Quantum and Midas heat pumps. It may seem like a good deal with the initial rebates. The lady at Quantum thinks 5 years is acceptable for a major repair like this is OK!! Ring around and speak to plumbers and get advice for purchasing heat pump hot water is all I can say. Yes, they are lots of bad reviews like mine and true most people only review to complain. It does seem very coincidental most complaints are very similar that it's an expensive outlays, faulty machine and expensive to repair!!

Avoid quantum titan heat 340lt .. poor warrantee service – The heater has sticker with the serial number on the water heater but disintegrated under the weather. was missing on the tax invoice.... this was just an excuse of not honouring their warrantee! One of the plumbers who repairs/installs this brand of water heater says, their stickers (where the serial number etc )always disintegrated easily.. I think they purposely made it this way, so they need not honour their warrantee!

Terrible – installed Nov 2017, and the compressor has blown up, no hot water over weekend and no customer service contact, finally tech turns up to say compressor needs replacing and has to come from the East ... what the? could be a week or more>...... never again ridiculous unreliable clearly everyone's compressor are blowing up so wouldn't you have some available within the STATE !!!!! Will it work tomorrow? – 1 year old and it is a boat anchor. The customer service from these people is appalling. The attitude is to blame the installer, the circuit breaker, the process of contacting them and even Telstra! The product is noisy and intrusive in the summer months when unit cuts in and out throughout the night. we have to close off the windows on the side of the house that the heater is located to shut out the noise. One of the most efficient heat pumps – I've had the Quantum Compact 270 heat pump for almost 2 years and it's worked perfectly. I configured the inbuilt timer to come on during the daytime when it's the most efficient (the warmer the air, the less electricity they use) and when I'm generating electricity with my solar PV. heating), it's the second most efficient heat pump you can buy - meaning it has one of the highest rebates - I got $1200 back. It's pretty quiet at 48 dB (my aircon is 66 dB - 4 times louder) but I always run it in the daytime - I can't hear it then anyway. It works well when we have guests who shower a lot. It will take about 4 hours to heat up the whole tank from scratch but most days it only runs for a bit over an hour (when there's only 2 of us), using about 1.5 kWh of electricity, compared to 6 or 7 kWh for the old electric HWS. The tank seems to be very well insulated compared to other HWS.

never wanted this when building the new house 2yrs, 4 mths ago. I wanted an electric hot water system but building said we can’t in a new house and needed something Energy. Well after this expensive lesson I now need to completely rewrite etc to have electric one put in as I’d never get a heat pump again. Way too noisy!! Don’t bother, it’s not that much you save on power bill, way more expensive when you have to replace a whole until after 2yrs!

Died after not long after 2yrs old. Wouldn’t recommend a heat pump at all. Just look at all the bad reviews. Noisy and unreliable. Has costed us a fortune and it’s shoudn't has been costing us hardly anything but maybe some services in the first 10yrs but after not even 2.5yra it’s ceased up.
Had mine for 13 years Fantastic! – Hi I've had my Large quantum heater for 13 years, sometimes does 10 showers a day and it's freezing here in winter. But you have reminded me to check it and get it re- Gassed suggested by a plumber years ago. Looking at all the complaints wonder if different models have more problems?? You would be a fool to buy one of these – Just over 7 and a half years old. Came highly recommended by an energy advising company. Would last between ten and twenty. A heath pump hot water system apparently is still a economically great system, but our Quantum system has completely rusted through, leaking everywhere. Was sold as a top brand.
