Very disappointing to see the quality of the Men's Ralph Lauren linen shirts looking flimsy and cheap. The fabric is terrible and doesn't last as before. You are now paying for the name and not the quality. Bring back the quality and stop looking at profits only.
Really poor, I have spent alot of money in the last couple of months, both online and in-store. The latest order didn't arrive and I just get told that they are escalating to the appropriate team at the courier company. They are just trained to say I'm sorry, not interested in actually resolving this, feels like Im going crazy! I'm so suproised i really thought this brand would care abtu customer satisfaction
Bought 2 large polos one black one blue from a well known department store, I tried one them as I wear this size for years, took them home and washed them then one was smaller than the other, same style. Factory fault but will never buy their products again. Just wasted $169
Shameful after sales service from what was once a highly respected fashion house. I have purchased from Ralph Lauren many many times, almost always in store. On this occasion, I made the mistake of making a small purchase online. The shirt and socks arrived promptly and well wrapped however the packaging had some form of black powder… Read more
resembling printer toner all over the bottom of the carton.
Unfortunately, I did not notice this until after I had opened the box and moved it off my bed.
My expensive near new bedsheet now had a large black stain on it.
I photographed the box and the bedsheet, placed the box outside, cancelled my first appointment for the day (costing me $440 in income), removed the sheet and drove to the local dry cleaner.
I wrote to Ralph Lauren Customer Service and provided the images I had taken.
I received the following clearly scripted response:
____
"Thank you for contacting Ralph Lauren Australia Customer Assistance. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience that the parcel box has the black stain and affected your bed sheet. Please allow us to forward your concern to the relevant department and we will get back to you once we receive an update. Meanwhile, we kindly request you to provide us with the following information: Video of unboxing (upon receipt) Photo of the Item (Full Image) Photo of the Price Tag
Photo of the QR Code on the Clothing Neck Label..." ____
I advised them that I lack the ability to travel back in time and film an unboxing video, that I had already provided images and that the receipt details provided showed all other details requested.
They replied without acknowledging their request or my response and simply said:
"...We are currently checking with the relevant department and will keep you informed via email once we have an update..."
Over the course of the next several days, they emailed me multiple times to say exactly the same thing (that they were awaiting a response from a mysterious unnamed department, before finally offering me a $20 discount voucher on my next purchase (valid for 30 days) by way of apology.
At this point, I had a ruined bedsheet valued at $480, had lost $440 in income and a $27 dry cleaning fee for a sheet that could not be salvaged - all because some courier had mishandled the carton and KNOWINGLY delivered it in that condition.
I would not expect Ralph Lauren to compensate me for all of that but I would expect them to own the problem and take far bigger steps toward rectifying it that offering a tiny discount on a future purchase, provided said purchase was made within 30 days. This is simply dismissive and insulting.
Naturally, I pushed back but Ralph Lauren Customer Disservice stood firm and told me that it was not their fault, that they do not control the actions of their couriers and are thus not responsible. They insisted that their $20 discount voucher valid for 30 days was a generous act of good faith. They then simply stopped responding.
Having a little time on my hands, I decided to come here today and write this review. I was stunned to see that Ralph Lauren have a rating of just 1.9 stars - an 81% NEGATIVE score with not a single positive review in the past 8 years. Everyone bitterly disappointed in their shameful customer service.
At the end of the day, by mistreating their customers in this way, Ralph Lauren will lose far more than I have in this instance as I will never buy their overpriced clothing and shoes again and will be sure to share my experience with anyone considering purchasing from them. I certainly will not be using that voucher and wont be giving it to a friend.
It is clear that some long standing businesses simply have not adapted well to world of online sales and have no idea how to train their staff to help customers or make them feel valued when a problem occurs.
When buying goods that are represented as premium products, customers expect premium service - something that Ralph Lauren simply do not seem able to offer online.
I putchased a top from Ralph lauren online shop on 10th of the month for my birthday that in the same month on 18th. However, today is 21st, i still havent received my order. Very disappointed with their super slow shipping services! If i knew that took so long, i could just walk i to the store to purchase!!! Show details
Didn’t deliver product. POD and house not mine yet still no resolution. If I could give zero I would. I managed to get POD within 30mins with courier and nothing from Ralph Lauren. It is constant “looking into”. Customer service non existent. Why have them there. Proof it wasn’t delivered to my house yet they won’t give me my money back or replacement. Yet some redneck now has my birthday gift. Show details
Very poor customer service experience. Very difficult to work with – This is a very difficult and uncompromising company to buy from. I purchased an expensive tee shirt from them. I inquired about the return/exchange policy. No exchange if the transaction is paid with PayPal. But you can get a refund. I asked about the return window: thirty days from the ORDER DATE. Read that again 30 DAYS FROM THE ORDER DATE. I… Read more
called them on the 800 number and after a twenty minute argument they agreed that the policy is not fair to the customer. But they would not send me an email to that effect. If the product is received 30 days after the order date I am asked to call and they will discuss extending the return window.
Terrible service – Absolutely useless! What's more is they really couldn't give a toss about you, your money, your order or what is now your problem. We ordered a product from Ralph Lauren on the 27th November and here we are still filling out forms with UPS (who also have no time or concerns for what is now your problem) on the 27th December. Surely it should be… Read more
RL taking this poor service up with UPS? Not us! We have recieved no refund or product. Absolutely nobody gives a toss about it. Steer clear of both RL AND UPS as neither of them are capable of organising a drunken soiree in pup.
Bad sizing, drop shipping and poor customer service – They sent me a dress two sizes too small then told me it was correct and that I could do a change of mind purchase. They are also drop shipping from China - was not Australian stock For the price I expected premium service.
Poor Quality polo Ralph Loren Rubbish – Bought a jacket & still brand New zipper won’t work shorts worn 3 times holes in the pockets poorly made for high price, never again be warned they want charge arm & a leg & it just not worth it
bad customer care – i have had an order placed for 209$ men shirt form Australia through Ralf Loren official website . its 2 weeks now . i have no details of shipment or tracking . very upset after paying 209 for s shirt. sent our couple of emails. no responds Show details
sizing – Ralph Lauren worldwide has larger sizes available, however, in Australia it only goes to XXL, which in reality for the average male is only just an XL. It is time they accepted the fact that not everyone fits into this sizing range and they import larger sizing for the other 80% of the population that would like to wear Polo bought locally Show details

Faulty garment and appalling customer service – I purchased a $169 Polo Ralph Lauren men's shirt at Myer Brisbane which turned out to have a weaving fault in the fabric. In addition to trying to call, I visited the Polo section at Myer Brisbane 3 times and each time was fobbed off with an excuse that the manager is not there and she needs to decide as I didn't have my receipt anymore but had… Read more
evidence of purchase through MyerOne. Supposedly she then traveled away and was returning on 16 Jan but I still haven't had the phone call (I left all my contact details twice already). Trying to call through the Myer phone line is impossible too, no one is ever answering the phones in the men's section.
I went into Myer the fourth time and finally got a refund. I won't be buying Ralph Lauren again.
garbage – the polo shirt was 100% polyester and stuck to your skin like a rubber glove. Anyone thinking of buying this brand should read the reviews first. Show details
Worst company ever to work for – A very bad company to work for, if you’re offered a job from this company do not take it!!! They are so bad to their staff
No sizes and they don't offer a refund – My wife bought me a few shorts from the Ralph Lauren Perth DFO store and they did not fit well. Went back to get a bigger size and they do not have a bigger size in stock . They say they cannot give me a refund either... The staff were really big headed and rude. They told me I can use the credit towards caps or something else... Very disappointed.. Show details
The worst and most humiliating purchase of my life – On the 15/7/2020 I purchased a puffer vest from your harbourtown store adelaide Australia for $365.00 aud. The same evening whilst at dinner a friend commented the zippier looked funny and when I went to zip it up we discovered it was torn and damaged. I returned to the store the very next day 16/07/2020 and spoke to a retail assistant called… Read more
Austin explained it had been worn provided the tags proof of purchase etc and was told that I was unable to have a refund of any sort and was accused of damaging the item and said that I should have noticed that the jacket was damaged. I explained that if he checked the CCTV footage I went straight into the store grabbed it and took it straight to the counter and left totalling no more than 10 mins. I said I was in and out as I had been saving and had friends chip in as a 34th birthday gift and had been regularly returning to the store for the size and colour I wanted.
I advised him I had been advised that I was entitled to a full refund under consumer law via consumer affairs office and he denied this request and I demanded the manager be contacted on the spot he then asked if was sure I didn't cause the zip to break as it looked too small for me.
He called the manager I was then advised that I would need to come back the next day as she would be assessing it.
I became upset and advised I cannot afford yet another uber and he then said how did you afford the jacket sarcastically and loudly so everyone in the store heard.
I left the jacket at the store because I was so upset that I was not only fat shamed but also shamed because i couldn't afford another trip back.
I am absolutely dejected and have been left feeling humiliated all because I was excersising my consumer rights and felt that I no longer wanted to wear the label as this shouldn't occur when paying such a premium price.
I now have no jacket no 365.00 and made a fool of.
Thank you for the worst shopping experience and ruined birthday gift

Cheap quality garment – I purchased a pair of track suit pants from the Birkenhead Point Outlet store in Sydney. After only a couple of times wearing these pants the fabric quickly deteriorated, runs in the fabric appeared in particular where the pockets were. These pants cost in excess of $100.00. I tried to contact Corporate office to make a complaint and… Read more
unfortunately I had no receipt and I paid cash so nothing could be done. The ironic thing is there is a labelled patch on these pants that says “quality authentic goods” I beg to differ!
Poor quality bad service – Bad company to deal with. Bought a polo and stitching failed after 5 wears. Sent all documentation to RL after they requested it then they would me need to take it up with Myer as that’s where it was purchased. I live a long way away from Myer, sent them all photos and receipts. They said must bring product in. Way overpriced product, will stick with other high end similar brands such as Lacoste, Tommy Hilfiger etc Avoid
Stuck up! Poor service! – I wrote to Ralph Lauren with the following: Thank you for responding to my complaint. Regardless of the outcome of this process, I wanted to express my views of RL. Until these incidents and the treatment first hand from the staff at the Maroochydore Store I had high regard for RL. To recap, I have purchased approximately 20 odd Ralph Polo’s in… Read more
the last 15 months for the partners in our business and had them embroidered with our business logo, photo’s attached.
We have two colour’s they Grey mottled weave and the flat dark blue.
When I entered the store in November, I noticed a new blue weave RL Polo, and thought to myself; they grey weave RL Polo’s fade in an even manner, Perhaps this blue weave would be similar.
Although, the grey RL Polo’s fade a little, it’s a uniform fade, not blotchy and in spots like the Blue Polo’s. So I was interested in replacing the Blue Polo’s with the new weave, by buying some to try.
I enquired about the blue Polo’s that have a different weave, if they would fade like the Blue Polo’s?
The guy that responded (not the young dark haired assistant) ”our polo’s don't fade sir”. His attitude was very defensive and ”superior”!! Clearly he had not noticed the faded blue RL Polo I was wearing! I replied well this one has!
His immediate retort was ”you must wear them outside in the sun a lot? I replied, no we only wear them in the office, and on casual days. Assistant ”you must have washed it an left it in the sun to dry, because our polo’s do not fade! Nose stuck up in the air with a look, ”got you it's your fault”. I replied politely, ”we have a cover over our outside drying frame, so sun can't fade out clothing”. Assistant ”well then you must wear them a lot and wash them often”, which is not the case, however, by this time I had decided to extract myself from what was going to become an argument.
When I entered the store I was a happy customer, with an open mind. I left the store with a completely different attitude and that was all because of a Ralph Staff member. I was considering replacing Blue Polo’s with the Blue Weave, but due to this man's insistence that it was all my fault that the polo’s fade instead of showing some empathy and suggesting why don't you try one and see? An order turned into an altercation, and an unhappy lost customer.
Let's return to the hat incident, despite my recent experience i decided to purchase a hat as a Christmas present for my wife. She has a pink Ralph hat and I thought a blue would be a nice change. I am hopeless at Christmas presents!!
The hat was dirty, I don't have photo’s because I returned it to the store, where they cleaned it with a wet fluid out the back of the shop. And then offered me a store credit. Admittedly my wife did not want a second hat and the dirty hat made her dislike the hat even more.
It was also pointed out to me that the return policy is beside the till, which it was in dark blue tucked around the side of the till. It was then pointed out to me that the returns policy is printed on the sales docket. Only thing was the docket was popped into the bag by the shop assistant without me ever sighting the receipt.
RL was in my view a premium brand, but like my polo shirts that has faded somewhat. In 2020 99% of retailers offer refunds, especially for hopeless husbands trying to buy presents for their wives. I will never ever, ever think of going to a Ralph store again for a tree gift or any other for that matter, and as fit the attitude of your staff well it takes 10’s of years to build a brand and 10 minutes to tear it down, selling dirty hats that should have been inspected by staff before bagging is just another sign of a retailer operating a charity shop.
There reply was to ask me to dig out all the receipts and take photos of all the labels. Not a simple task, however I decided to co-operate, and it took me some weeks to get photo’s and locate the receipts.
RL’s response
Thank you for getting back to us.
All receipts are well receipt. However, upon checking, all purchase are from Myer and David Jones. In this case,we suggest contacting the original place of purchase for further assistance.
If you wish to be assisted with other products, we suggest contacting our nearest store and I'm sure our members will always be happy to help. For your convenience, we had provided a link to our store locator below:
Not sure what a well receipt is, but clearly couldn’t give a dam!
Polo relaxed fit womens shirt – The quality of the fabric seems good, the stitching so far is good but the sleeves are not a relaxed fit, they are very narrow, and bending my arm is uncomfortable, I have bony arms with almost no muscle mass. If they are trying to use as little fabric as possible, the shirt or sleeves could be shorter and that fabric could be used to widen the sleeves.

There is no customer service options - no number or email address – I recently purchased over $500 worth of clothing from the site vitr-ral.club which is a Ralph Lauren Polo Outlet Online Store, I have not had contact since, no clothes and no where to contact them?
Misleading sizing, uncomfortable, exorbitant price – You don't buy undies to make a fashion statement or for vanity, even if you pay $79 for a 3-pack of men's Ralph Lauren, although the prominent branding on the waist band might suggest otherwise. I paid this for comfort. I am small (size 32) but 'small' Bonds or similar are a bit tight. RL Polo label their size '32-34' as 'Medium'. Ah, I… Read more
thought, these will be larger than a 'Small' and more comfortable than my Bonds or Aldi size Small undies. But no, they are still too tight for comfort. It seems RL Polo believe men want to think they are bigger then they really are. To make matters worse, they come with a huge sewn-in label that irritatingly sticks down your butt crack. These are the most uncomfortable undies I have ever worn. I will continue wearing my Aldi undies that cost one-tenth the price and are more comfortable. I'm stuck with my Polo's, but wearing them will be a constant reminder to NOT buy any Ralph Lauren product again, at any price, even to satisfy my vanity.
Advantages and disadvantages – I am a short guy (171cm) so I usually buy the largest shirts in the kids section for half the price of the adult price. It's one of the advantages of being small but sometimes there are shirts in the adult section I really like but they don't have my size ! If there were more small sizes in store that would be awesome! !
Online purchase: awful customer service, charged a fee to return the item – I had an awful experience with Ralph Lauren in January 2016. I bought a windbreaker jacket online as a gift. The jacket was not on sale, it cost approx. $250 AUD. Unfortunately we needed a smaller size, so I tried to go online through their 'contact us' page to clarify the exchange process. However, the 'submit' button on thier contact us page… Read more
didn't work. Then I tried to look for a number to call, but they provide only a '1-800' # which you cannot call internationally!
So I find the companies email address on a form I had and email them my concerns about contacting them (as i was a bit concerned that all options to get in touch didn't work... not very professional!). They replied, quite quickly, and in their email they state:
"Ralph Lauren does not have an exchange policy, please return the item for a full refund and re-purchase the item". Although this is very disappointing ..the clincher is, when you return the item they charge an 'international return fee' of $25 AUD! So basically I'm unfairly treated for purchasing online!
I email back and let them know i'm extremely disappointed about this, and question I why should pay an international fee for returning the item when I purchased the item in Australia?! I asked for my query to be escalated to a manager and for someone to give me a call... no one ever replied to my email.. and as a clincher, they advise that if i have any questions i can call their '1-800' #.. grrr!
Can we just think about this for a sec... a top designer, high end prices, and an expectation of quality customer service... does not have an exchange policy, does not realise that international buyers cannot call a 1-800 #s, and penalises people for shopping online?!
And to top it all off, they end all their emails with the standard line "We look forward to providing you with the legendary service you have come to expect from RalphLauren.com.au" - AS IF, just make sure you have no issues!
I will never buy another Ralph Lauren product because of this experience and I caution all those who might want to buy a Ralph Lauren product online.
very happy with quality - bit pricey – the polo tops are awesome from Ralph Lauren. I live on the Sunshine Coast so I am so thankful for a casual, smart, dressy top that is light during summer! even better if you can get them on sale. I feel good about buying RL because you know you are getting quality that lasts even if it does cost a bit!
Ralph Lauren - high brand - low service! – On a business trip in Milan I visited brand store of Ralph Lauren and made a number of purchases, including 2 shirts Ralph Lauren (Polo Ralph Lauren Custom Fit 16 1/2) – for myself and as a present to my business partner, who was expected anniversary. Relying on unconditional quality of exclusive brand Ralph Lauren, I gave to my business partner… Read more
this shirt as an anniversary gift.
After a short time, this business partner sent to me a letter of gratitude for the gift with photos of just unpacked shirt. My surprise and shame had no bounds when I saw in the photo the hole on the presented shirt Ralph Lauren. And not just a hole, but mended hole in the shirt, which has packed and sold as new!
Such case is outrageous and unacceptable for such an exclusive brand like Ralph Lauren, and gives reason to doubt the quality of products in the future.
Usually in the first-class boutiques of such brands as Ralph Lauren, customers can afford to themselves not to open packed shirt in the store and check its quality. I assumed, that giving the company a permanent preference, I has the right to return the trust of Ralph Lauren about the quality and service, about what I wrote to an official representation of the company. Now I'm waiting for comments from the famous brand for about 6 month..
Ralph Lauren Mens Big Pony Shirt - Harbour Town Store – I dont like to start with a negative, I bought a new Pony Ralph Lauren Polo shirt at the outlet store at Harbour Town in Queensland in March 2014. Great quality – Every item I have purchased from Ralph Lauren has lasted years. Yes, the price point is quiet expensive unless your lucky enough to find your size on sale... It is worth it. Polo tops are great gifts for Christmas and can usually find them in major retail stores including DJ's and Myer at a reasonable price.
Great quality – I've been buying ralph lauren clothing for over 10 years now and I have been happy with every single item. They hold their colour and shape. I love the relaxed preppy look of RL clothing and it makes causal clothing look smart! Quality, style
