Took to Fair Trading – I accidentally bought the wrong size nappies and cotton prefolds. In less than 20mins after ordering, I emailed them to see if I could cancel the order and reorder the correct size, but no reply. I emailed them FOUR times. They have no phone number. There are better companies out there that actually reply to emails with better quality and cheaper products.

Good nappy for days, but doesn't hold up overnight... poor customer service! :( – Good for daytime, but needs changing every 2-3hours still at 18 months age... poor customer service. My wetbag tore in a couple of places after 4 months of use. Contacted real nappies and they didn't seem concerned or surprised! Offered me a 15% off discount to buy another! I declined.... disappointing to say the least, especially as I've spent… Read more

Love them – We have used real nappies through 2 kids and love them. We often found be moved to the next size insert before changing to next size cover. I love the flexibility of being able to do that. My 2nd is a heavy wetter and unfortunately have resorted to disposable at night but real nappies were great at giving ideas to cater to our needs and quick to honour there 2 child promise when I had a cover rip.

Ok but having problems – I'm onto baby number 2. She is 3.5kg and is exceeding the expectations of the nappy (every change she has leaked and it is not because the insert was sticking out anywhere) even though she is being changed every 3-4 hours. The insert it well soaked. I am not currently using the booster (and at $9 for 2 plus postage with 7 changes in a day, not… Read more

likely to), but ideally shouldn't need to because she is being changed regularly. I only experienced this scenario with my first born when she was in the crawler nappies and once this started happening in the day I gave up and went to disposables (in lieu of what I was doing ie moving up to the next nappy sized insert and cover).

I have experimented using a face washer as a booster to see if that solved the problem and so far after 2 changes it has for the moment. Not sure how this will play out when she sleeps for 6 hours though. Presently I'm looking at booster options to help resolve the matter, but again feel the nappy shouldn't be leaking at this stage.

I have tried a few different folds but found some just made it worse. Have contacted Real Nappies to help find a solution but as yet the email and phone call has remained unanswered (same as last time).

It could be I just have a heavy wetter and cloth nappies just may not be the right product for my child.

I do embrace the fact I'm trying not to use disposables and that this is a better option for the environment as well hopefully saves me a little bit of money. I also found using the Earth Choice laundry soap powder was really good and have not had problems with stains on the nappies, so have been using that brand ever since, so am grateful for that.

It does take a little time to fold the nappies in batches ready for use (as opposed the click in systems). But this never bothered me.

Great, practical, easy to use cloth nappies – I bought these nearly 3 years ago and am about to start using them on a second baby. I sampled a few other brands but have been very happy with my choice. I bought the starter pack. At times we would move up to the next size of insert inside the previous cover, this worked well when he needed more absorbency but was not yet big enough for the next… Read more

pants size - my son is a skinny thing. Boosters worked well for overnight but after about age 2 we started using a disposable overnight to ensure he didn't wake from wetness.

I noticed a couple of reviews saying that the baby feels the wetness, but that is one of the draw cards of cloth nappies - the wetness theoretically helps them to toilet train because they can feel it, unlike in a disposable. My son toilet trained at 2 1/2 quite easily and we never actually used the training pants that came with the kit.

Fantastic Product - Easy to Use, Effective, and Great Value – We started off with the birth to potty pack, which I bought on sale so it was such a fantastic price. Even full price it's great value, as they are effective, quick to use and much cheaper than disposables in the long run. I was also given some samples of other brands as well as flat nappies so I've done a fair bit of comparison. Unfortunately… Read more

my daughter is allergic to disposables (and wipes!) so we have had a limited experience with those.

They have contained nearly all newborn explosions and only leap in the most extreme situations where nothing would contain in. All of the press stud type samples we got not only leaked as the velcro tabs of real nappies let you adjust the covers better. The flats also contained them but they take a little more time folding so we eventually stopped using them and just use them as burp rags and change table covers. I do recommend getting the proper Snappies for the newborn fold - we tried cheaper ones and they didn't grip as well.

My partner was a bit unsure about the effort with cloth nappies but found the real nappies the easiest. Our day care even lets us use them as they are so easy to use. The videos are great too. The newborn fold is the most trickiest, but it's worth the little bit more time doing it as it contains the explosions better, however if you do the velcro up well enough, you can still get away with the boy or Girl fold.

The liners have been awesome after our bub started solids and we don't need to spray off any poo now. They aren't so good with the newborn poos as they are so runny it goes through, so we used to spray it off using a little squirt or run it under a sink. However it's not necessary now!

We have bought an extra 6 covers in each size, 6 inserts in the largest 2 sizes, and extra booster pads. Mainly because now we're back at work it buys us a bit more time before doing the washing, sometimes we have the nappies in the bag prepared like disposables if we're travelling or going somewhere with limited change facilities to make the changes as fast as possible, and the bamboo booster pads are very absorbent so take a while to dry.

I recommend getting everything in white so you can wash it together. Don't worry about stains - the dry pailing actually works and if there is a discolouration it actually does fade in the sun! we also grabbed cheap white wash clothes that we use as wipes in water and chuck it in too. Follow the instructions for dry pailing and washing on the website to a tee and you'll be fine - and the tiny amount of detergent is correct! They barely need detergent.

You can use baby powder and nappy cream with these with no problems. We have to all the time as our bub is allergic to her poos too.

Oh and we've travelled with them fine too as I can't bring myself to pay the ridiculous cost of hypoallergenic disposables. We have bought some awesome planet earth water proof bags that hold the nappies (and smells) effectively and also use their wipe bags for the wipes i have. We are always washing messy clothes anyway so washing nappies isn't much effort, and saves trips to buying nappies or saves luggage space if we were to take enough disposables.

They have worked so well once any friends with bubs on the way sees us using them they just go and buy them - they see how easy they are to use, clean, and that they aren't too expensive so they are quickly converted.

Pretty happy with these as a MCN – I tried some China Cheapies with studs and got well and truly sick of studs and leaks. I then switched to Real Nappies, and wish I had used them from birth. I used Real Nappies from about 8 months until toilet training and found them fairly easy to use. Loved the velcro compared to studs - so much less fiddly. I had so many leaks with my… Read more

CCs, and this reduced dramatically. I still could not leave them on for as long as a disposable without getting leaks, but it became a lot more manageable. I could go a couple of hours without having them leak, which I am happy with.

I loved the fact that they are so quick to dry, and that you can put them in the dryer without the fear of ruining them compared to other MCNs. Very durable.

They can be a bit fiddly to manage the insert inside the cover when you have a squirming toddler, but this is also a problem to an extent with disposables, so not a big deal. Velcro, durable, quick to dry. Fiddly with squirming toddlers.

Not perfect – I've been searching for the perfect cloth nappy and after reading reviews about real nappies I was impressed, only their not perfect, although they don't cause nappy rash which is great they feel wet, also they're suppose to last 2 babies but for some reason the fabric on the blue coloured covers have separated (hard to explain) and i doubt these… Read more

will last another baby, other colour covers which were washed and treated exactly the same are fine, also my child is only 5 months old and is average in size but has already out grown the infant size at this rate we will have grown out of the entire newborn to toddler pack in 1 year. The positives are these never leak, they easily contain poo explosions, don't smell when dirty like disposables do and as I said earlier don't cause nappy rash. These nappies are still far better than other cloth nappies I've tried just not as perfect as other reviews have lead me to believe. Never leak, easily contain poo explosions Small fitting

Can't believe they contain my newborn's explosions! – So love these nappies: the fact you can take out the nappy and pop another one in and not have to wash the cover is the best thing! also lets be honest with a newborn not many nappies hold everything in. the fact you can customise Real Nappies inserts means you don't get leaks. Best modern cloth nappy around! – I can't speak highly enough of Real Nappies. In my experience, they would have to be the best modern cloth nappy on the market and one of the most reasonably priced. Great price (especially the birth to potty pack), flushable liner, feel like I am doing my bit for the environment, easy to wash, great quality, various sized outer covers (with easy to use velcro) and cloth inserts, quick drying, save so much money not buying disposables, guaranteed for 2 children and hubby finds them easy to use (bonus!).

Much more reliable than more expensive brands – These don't leak unless the content is enough to make the disposable ones leak also. They are easy to care for. We put them straight in the wash after dry tubbing for one wash and then with other clothes for a second wash and in the dryer afterwards and they come out good as new. Highly recommended! Reliable, cheap, easy to care for

Brilliant Nappies! – We were keen to use cloth nappies and looked into many different brands and types before choosing Real Nappies. I like the fact that you can mix and match covers and inserts depending on the… Read more

size of your baby. For example, our daughter has grown out of the newborn covers but she is too small for the infant size, so we use a newborn insert and an infant cover which is perfect.

They are easy to put on - just like a disposable. I like the fact that the fastening is velcro rather than poppers as this is so quick and easy and no problem with being in between sizes.

As with all cloth nappies there is a bit of work involved but it takes me less than 10 minutes per day to soak, fold etc.

The Nappy Fresh is also very good - I have never had a stain that it did not remove.

I also like the fact that the nappies are guaranteed for two babies, this was a real drawcard for us.

Real Nappies are definitely more bulky than disposable nappies but they are one of the neatest cloth nappies I have seen. I have seen babies that wear one size nappies and they are huge! I definitely think that having different sizes is better.

Some reviewers have said that they would prefer more colours and / or designs. We have all white covers and I am personally happy with this because I think some designs and colours would be noticeable through clothing, particularly if it was light in colour or lightweight material.

Overall, I would recommend these nappies to anyone. They are easy to use, quick drying, comfortable for baby and excellent value for money. Easy to use, quick drying, excellent value for money.

More than twice the value for twins – My twins were born 7 weeks premature, so it took a little while for them to grow into the Real Nappies, but we have used them ever since they were a few months old and they are 2 1/2 now. I know lots of people who are amazed that I have chosen to use cloth nappies with twins; "Twice as much washing, no thanks!" is a common sentiment, but it's not… Read more ·  1

true. I'd be changing 8-10 nappies a day for a baby, or 6-8 nappies a day for a toddler, regardless of the type of nappy used, and if washing one nappy I might as well wash 10. I'd certainly rather have a nappy bucket being emptied every day than a growing rubbish pile of up to 70 used nappies a week! :-)

I bought to of the birth to potty packs, with enough of everything in each box for one baby, and even with twins I have not used all the nappies. I have used all the covers, and about two-thirds of the nappies, but have some unopened packets of each size. The reason is that the covers do not have to be washed with every use, so more nappies are used than covers, but as I have chosen to wash nappies daily I simply haven't needed all the nappies provided. Even using only two-thirds of the nappies, and with twins, I only have to wash a load of nappies every 48 hours, and any household with a baby will be doing a load of washing at least once every 48 hours, so adding nappies into the daily schedule is a simple matter indeed.

I have found these nappies to be simple to use, very convenient, extremely economical, and not too 'fat' compared to disposables. I make up a day's supply in advance, and therefore have them ready to use at a moment's notice throughout the day. Nothing could be simpler. It is every bit as fast to put a baby in a Real Nappy as it is to put a baby in a disposable nappy.

The nappies have a two-child guarantee, but even though I have used these for my two children, my ex-nanny is now using the smaller sizes for her newborn, so three children now, and they are still going strong. They are worth every penny, and have saved me thousands of dollars, so their accumulated value is so much more than what I spent to get them. Much more than twice the value for twins. :-) :-)

Kylie Easy, reliable, comfortable, great value. Only one thing that I find annoying occasionally is that these cannot be bleached, so once in a while a pooey nappy will stain and it is sometimes hard to remove the stain. It eventually comes out, but takes a while sometimes.

Love these nappies - Real Nappies are so easy and dad friendly! – Love these nappies! I was sceptical about the whole cloth nappy thing and so hopped on-line to take a look. I soooo wish I hadn't! It's a nightmare out there and so confusing: snap here, pop this in, stuff this insert here. Argh! I tried One-size (thought these were a great idea till they fell off my little one and kept absoultely nothing in… Read more

lol!) There were soooo many snaps to pop here and join here I was so confused and well my husbany nearly fainted and refused to even try them.

Then moved to Pocket nappies (stuff the absorbent bit in a pocket), these were OK but again kept nothing in as with the poppers / snaps I couldn't get a good fit around bubs skinny legs. There weren't adjustable enough and I hated that you have to wash the whole thing every change time. I have enough washing as it is!

All-In-Ones: ok so heard the hype about bamboo so gave them a shot, not only were they ridiculously expensive, but they took 3 days to dry on my clothes line! OMG how can anyone use these, you would need heaps of these just to keep you going! Plus in all honesty I didn't rate them anyway.

I genuinely was going to give up till my GF recommended Real Nappies. At last a straight-forward system that didn't require a degree to operate! SOOO love these nappies, a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of them they are a breeze. You only have to change the cotton prefold at change time not the cover so less washing and less $$$. I only had one explosion which went on the cover too but in all honesty, NOTHING was keeping that in! Velcro so hubby friendly, they are a good fit and I was happy that bubs butt doesn't looks massive either not like some I tried! I bought the Birth to Potty which has all the sizes and guess what - is also guaranteed for 2 babies!

Bring it on Real Nappies - well done guys! easy, great value for money, 2 child guarantee, great customer service, less washing! would be great to have some more colour choices

Environmentally friendly, easy to use, cost effective - a must have alternative to disposables – My hubby insisted on using cloth nappies with our little one before bub was born so we went along to the Baby Expo to investigate different options. There were about 12 cloth nappy stands - all pretty much identical. Real Nappies were the only system that was quite different from the other companies. We purchased the Birth to Potty Pack which is… Read more

the system that includes all the nappies you will need to get you from birth up to when you potty train your little one. My hubby loved that the nappies are secured with velcro rather than buttons (unlike most of the cloth nappy brands). He said that this would be easier to use at 3 am - rather than having to count and connect the correct buttons - he was right. The velcro is nice and sticky so it secures quite firmly. Real Nappies also includes a warranty that covers for replacement of any parts of the nappy system up to child no. 2, which provides a lot of peace-of-mind for long-term use. My concerns were that the elastic in the waterproof cover or the velcro would wear down but with the warranty, it's not really an issue.

The reasons why we purchased the Real Nappy system:

- The cost - it ends up being significantly cheaper over the nappy-life of your child, let alone if you use the system for a second child. Much cheaper than disposabe nappies and the Birth to Potty pack is MUCH cheaper than other brands of cloth nappies

- 2 child warranty provides peace of mind

- outer covers do come in various colours (but we opted for plain white in case baby no. 2 is a girl)

- better for the environment

- inserts are cotton so dry fast

- comes in different sizes (those all-in-ones that come in one size never quite fit properly)

- great fit, easy to clean, wash well easy to use, environmentally friendly, fit well, save money, comes with 2 child warranty, easy to clean and dry fast cloth nappies in general are not so convenient when going out...but that's with all cloth nappies, not just Real Nappies, not sure if the velcro or elastic of the outer cover will last but with the warranty I have the reassurance that even if it doesn't it will be replaced so not really an issue
