Worst toaster I've ever bought – This has been my worst appliance purchase. It was expensive and didn't provide quality. From day 1 the glass slider fell out everytime I used it, the weak little plastic handle joint snapped within a year and the moving metal tray part got stuck in the down position on one side. Waste of good money – Used 1st time.So slow. And doesn't cook evenly. Put in 2 pieces and its only browns in the middle not on the outer sides. Just looks good. Lucky my led light dials dont work. So will be taking back for a refund and get a sunbeam i think!! Waste of money!!

expensive so extremely disappointed. I can't claim warranty as it does function even if very poorly. I have already written this off as a mistake and trashed it. One of the worst appliances I have ever bought!

Stylish and modern – Apart from looking smart and classy in my kitchen i would not buy another one again. There is no bottom tray to pull out to remove crumbs, you can take the glass panel out to clean tho but still cant get the crumbs all out. The handle snapped off cant put back on as it's moulded to the side bracket not to mention have to keep pushing handle down as it wont lock into place for toasting.

OK, but does have its quality concerns – Some of the issues raised in the reviews, are valid. The top rear element does seem to be weaker than the rest, however it doesnt affect the toast THAT much. now holds the toast down. This was only a few months after purchase. But its back working fine.

It was on a clearance sale for well under RRP, so i dare say there have been a few returns. Im not overly concerned, but i would be if i had paid full price. Overall this toaster is all about looks, and it certainly passes that test.

Update: Toaster failed to hold down toast completely, lasted 9 months.

Looked good, but did not work – Straight out of the box I could not fully depress the lever so the elements did not heat up. When I returned it the staff member knew they were unreliable. She recommended another Russell Hobbs toaster (Model No. 9276) and it has been fine so far, although the casing does get quite hot.

Good idea but crap quality – I am about to return this toaster for the 2nd time this time for a refund. The first one I had the rack in the middle of the toaster that holds the bread was not put in properly and was at an angle. where I could see when my toast was about to burn that I asked for a replacement. Now, within a month of getting the replacement, like some other reviews I have found that when I press the button down to toast it doesn't click into place, I have to wiggle it or really press it down. The quality of the parts is shocking and I would definitely not recommend this to anyone even at half of the high $150 price tag

Not worth the money paid - cheap and nasty – What a cheap and nasty piece of equipment this is - certainly not worth the price paid. clicks - and it is only three days old !! I hate to think how long this is going to last before I cave in and return it to the store for my money back. I thought this brand was a "good name", however never again will I buy this brand. Even the side of the toaster is extremely thin metal and you only have to press your finger on it lightly before it wobbles inwards. I certainly agree with others on this forum that it is not a well made item. To say I am very disappointed with the product would be an understatement.

Shame on you, Russell Hobbs – Lasted less than a year, did an autopsy, poor design and material selection led to failure of toast ejection carriage, COTD refund in full

Not a well made item – I got it home last night, followed the pre -heat before use instructions and noticed during this period that the top back element wasn't working.im taking it back to Myers Penrith for a full refund and I'll do without this Chinese junk.

I wouldn't pay full price for it – So I bought this toaster online for $59.95+PH because I couldn't resist the idea of (1) a great deal (2) watching my bread brown through a window, how cool & (3) a bit of eye candy on my kitchen bench... into place, but I immediately quested the quality/make of the product.

Firstly, it's quite a big unit, much bigger than I expected - I hadn't seen it in real life before purchasing it online. It looks quite clunky and not of a finish I gladly have on permanent display on my bench top. I expected it to be shorter in length and taller, like more traditional toasters which I would say work better with most shaped breads etc.

It's toasts like you would expect it too, but there's no exciting "browning" on display for the kiddies to get excited about. The red-orange hew of the heating filaments masks the toasting a bit.

It's an ok toaster for the price I paid for it (same as my stainless steel 2-slice Sunbeam at $59), but I'd gladly have my bench space back and I certainly wouldn't dream of paying the RRP for it. Great idea to have a glass side On the big side, pretty ordinary quality
