Excellent workhorse over the last 9 years – I bought this machine in Italy in 2009 for 120 Euros and it's followed me to Turkey and now to Switzerland and has continually made 2-4 great coffees per day. I would suggest this machine to anyone who loves a good coffee and can get their hands on the lavazza capsules. 10 years of great coffee across 3 countries! The only issue I ever had… Read more
was during a cleaning of the milk/steam system, I must have done something incorrectly and ruined the internal piping, rendering the steam ineffective. But that was my mistake and not the machines.
Overall I recommend to anyone, hands down, its the best and looks great too.
You Can Easily Fix Water Not Coming Through Saeco Lavazza A Modo Mio Coffee Pod Machine – I notice alot of you say water is not coming through - DON'T WORRY, IT IS AN EASY FIX. I have two of these machines and I find the Saeco is the best Lavazza coffee pod machine that I have tried. I had the same problem, but the Philips/Saeco expert gave me the fix: WHY AIR BLOCK OCCURS: "If the pump is noisy, it most likely means it's… Read more
running dry".
MY ADVICE FOR AVOIDING FUTURE AIR BLOCKS:
To avoid running the machine dry, if the machine water tank is empty when you turn it on, it sucks up air instead of water and puts an air block in machine. Try to get into a habit of always looking to fill up with water first, before making a coffee."
TO FIX AN AIR BLOCK:
I found the second suggestion from the Philips/Saeco Technician works consistently and is a reliable way to fix it.
Leave machine to cool. "As soon as you switch your machine on you should open the steam tap and press the long coffee button without waiting for the ready light to be on. This will help to overcome the boiler pressure and run water into this system"
His first suggestion also works, but I find not every time. However, his first suggestion is quick and is "remove and replace the water tank a couple of times so it pushes any bubbles of air out".
He also leaves contact details, if this doesn't work. 1300 363 391 = Philips Australia.
MY MILK SUGGESTION:
I find the milk frother is too slow and only makes enough milk for one at a time, so if you have guests, I recommend using the Breville BMF600 Milk Cafe. Perfect combo. It holds enough milk for 4 x coffees and makes both cappuccino and latte milk.
Doesn't work. Water doesn't flow through – Bought the machine about 2 years ago, used it a few times over 1 month and all good. I then put the machine into storage and just took it out to use and found the water doesn't go through the machine from the water tank to the capsule. I rang the company and was told the machine has a known manufacturing problem with the flow through valve. The… Read more

The best coffee, so much more reliable than a random cafe and much cheaper!!! – Simply great coffee, easy to get as good as a top café flat white... I heat a third to half mug if milk in the microwave (about 25 secs), then use a nice strong capsule (deciso etc) and draw for only about 15 secs max…then release capsule and press on again to release just hot water.. to fill the rest of the way, pretty darn good. Maybe two… Read more
capsules 15 secs each on top of the milk for an extra stone morning wake-up coffee. You can't expect a capsule of any sort to fill a full mug on it's own, just the same as an "espresso shot" of any sort wouldn't. Just drawing until the juice is distinctly lighter in colour will get all the flavour you are going to get, drawing extra through just brings in bitterness/thinness… Not more flavour! Simply machine been going strong for around two years now, no dramas, but aware there can be faulty units, we have a backup simpla as well as a minu anyway.. Capsules can be picked up for as little as $7 for box of 16, just have to wait for the Coles special to come up (or sometimes on special at woolworths also)
Wow - $35 and Beats the Big Boys ! Modo Mio Lavazza Minù ! – Was looking for a new coffee pod machine - that can handle the Mio modo pods - Lavazza. We found this one at Target. I'm told Coles also have it. BUT - currently $35. Take s a minor getting use to and no gimmicks. You have an off/on button. A lever for the amount of coffee you want - and a water container. BUT - looks very smooth - if small… Read more
- and coffee is good. We've now thrown away or returned a few Electrolux machines, taken back a Sunbeam that didn't work and were about to give up on Lavazza. But - I'd almost recommend this one. NO - for $35 I'd definitely recommend it ! You have to stay with it - it doesn't auto turn-off - and no frother - and you have to empty the pod each time BY HAND - shock horror - but so long as you don't want to serve more than 2 or 3 in a hurry - its pretty damn good. Coffee tastes good - after a few test runs - very easy to clean - and VERY easy to use. AND - $35. NB - it is the "Minù" NOT the Simpla or such named. It has the Lavazza name on the front.
Waste of space and money – Had this machine now for three years. It has been in to be repaired four times under warranty. Now the warranty has expired the same fault has occurred yet again. Tripping the circuit breaker on our power supply caused by a water leak. From what I have read on these posts it's a common problem and therefore should be rectified or recalled. I have… Read more
called the 1300 number three times and they keep telling me that they will get back to me. Well it's been two and half weeks since my first phone call and my patients has run out.
This machine is a total piece of rubbish. Do not buy one.
The back up service is woeful, the 1300 operators don't understand plain and simple english. As it trips my circuit breaker and takes out our power supply I was advised not to use it. Really. Don't need to be a rocket scientist to work that one out.
Sick of the excuses, sick of never having a return phone call even though every time I have phoned they advise they will call me back. It's now been a week since my last call.
However is in charge of this needs their arse kicked. Poor service, poor product and poor back up service. The coffee is actually good. Pice of rubbish that continually breaks down. Should be recalled.

Makes a super cuppa every time using Lavazza pods – Simplicity itself, and justifiably named "Simpla" ! The hardest thing to do is NOT use it! Turn on, select pod of choice and drop in, pull big lever and touch cup symbol. I love this product (a little too much!) and am slightly addicted to my morning caff hit. Extremely easy to clean - I use a little brush to clean the used pods container.… Read more
WIpe over and ready for duty. 2 things could be improved: 1. A LOW Water light (or simply prevent the issue of coffee), and2. A side or front lever to penetrate the pods because its nearly impossible to NOT use that big lever incorrectly as a carry handle ! (until you realise that its a pod opener). Note purchase date and price are approximate. I think it may have been $50 - $60 max. Was on a Bargain sale :)
Great Machine – This machine might not be an expensive one but I have been using at work for years and makes the best tasting lattes!!!! There are so many varieties of Pods...can be purchased from Supermarket, Myers, Harvey Norman and the Good Guys. Give it a try...you will not be disappointed !!!!! Show details
Perfecto – This is the best coffee machine I have ever used. It is the best value for money, so great I have bought another one and put it aside for future use. Great authentic Italian robust arabica bean coffee pods. I highly recommend any Lavazza Coffee products. Very satisfied. Love it Show details

makes warm coffee & you will have to put in the microwave to heat it if you you make a full cup – Is easy to use & clean good taste but only warm coffee and leaks from some where. We returned it after a couple of days will never buy one again. It made good tasting coffee and half a cup would be hot and by the time you made a full cup it would only be warm.I got a full refund from Catch of the Day. Issa no good....she no work! – Catch of the day are legends, gave me a full refund plus some of the postage back. Also didn't have to return the machine. Followed the instructions to the letter. Standby light came on as instructed then pressed it and the coffee supply button came on as was meant to, waited for the coffee supply button to stop flashing and heard the two beeps… Read more
indicating the machine is ready. Pressed the coffee supply button as instructed however no water was pumped through the machine! No water = No coffee. The machine made a heck of a lot of noise and plenty of vibration so I guess the pump was trying to get water through the machine. Anywho....now destined for land fill...... or......I could try to fix it? Now where did I put that hammer!
Not what I expected – I bought this machine on seeing it demonstrated at an Expo. The pods keep getting stuck and fall through to the tray without even getting pierced, or it pierces the pods and no coffee comes out. i called service on which they told me my closest service provider was 3 hours away, not worth taking it there at that distance. I didn't worry about it.… Read more
Not a great machine wished I purchased something else for the price. It is sitting in my cupboard for 5 years now, waste of money.

So far, so good – I won this machine in a raffle. At first we couldn't get the water to come through but check the water tank is clicked in properly. Once we did that, it worked perfectly. Plus, you can turn the cup rest upside down and it fits mugs and larger cups. Just for those that have complained about those 2 points. We got 3 free boxes of coffee plus the… Read more
presentation pack of coffee varieties and we like most of them. I will post another review after we've had it for a while, but so far, we love it. Far superior to the Caffitaly machines we had. Had 3 and they all went back due to leaking.
Works well – We are happy with our coffee machine it's simple to use. Easy to clean. Was a good price around $129 brought it from the good guys. Brought some pods they were not cheap around $10 did not come with a milk frothier but we did have one from a previous machine. Show details
Bright yellow Lavazza – I have had machine for 3 years. Functions beautifully all the time. I have worn out something that holds the pods in place however so looking to purchase a new machine just not sure which one. Draw backs are pods are more expensive than any others and only available at Myer and Coles. Machine doesn't automatically stop therefore I can say had… Read more

Perfettissimo – This machine is the best on the market. It is easy to use, makes perfect coffees of differing types. The price varies greatly so attention needed to secure economical price. Yes I have wide experience of coffee machines, very variable in performance, but this one is supreme and becoming difficult to find.
Water leak - No steam through the nozzle – My machine has suddenly stopped working. I can still get the coffee after putting the pods but when try to use the steam to warm the milk, water leaks from the bottom and no steam comes out through the nozzle. I have atleast 2-3 coffee a day :( I have tried few things without much success.
Unfortunately broke with second use – The machine I bought broke on second use, the symptoms were water leaked into the base catching tray, bypassing the capsule and coffee outlet. The water was clean and warm, so hadn't passed through the capsule. I returned the machine and received my money back, luckily from Dick Smith before they ran into troubles. Normally, I would put it… Read more
down to "one of things" but a friend laughingly warned me, his machine also suffered with exactly the same symptoms when newly bought just before Christmas, he went for the exchange, the price being so attractive. I thought I would be luckier... I wasn't.
Ok but certainly not great – Its a good looking machine but unfortunately its design and performance is a little lacklustre. The bulky power plug on the rear of the machine means its sits out an inch or so from the wall. Not a huge issue if you have sufficient space to sit it. Much like many machines on the market today the cup rest / landing isnt large enough to accommodate… Read more
anything other than standard espresso style cups.
As far as the production performance goes, disappointing also. At best my unit produces lukewarm coffee that I have to zap in the microwave. Yes I prewarm the cups but still isnt as hot as my previous machine.
Lastly I was disappointed to find the coffee delivery button cant be programmed to deliver a user defined volume.
I picked this unit up quite cheap and wont lose any money moving it on via online means. Overall I wish the performance matched its looks and it was just a little further refined, power cord, temperature and programme button etc.
Perfect coffee – Absolutely awesome!!! We purchased our coffee machine almost 4 years ago. We give it a solid workout everyday. My only gripe is the noise it makes due to the water reservoir vibrating. Also Make sure you prime the machine regularly to get the best tasting coffee. (This goes for any brand or model)
Unfortunately isn't working – Brought this home today brand new. Water tank filled, plugged in, lights on. The instructions then tell you to pull the lever forward and let the machine run a couple of times into a cup (without inserting a pod). This is where mine fails - the pump is extremely loud, and no water comes out of the spout. I am a tech savvy individual,… Read more
so I know that I have followed the instructions correctly. My guess is the pump is faulty. It is now too late to call customer service, so I guess I will have to follow up with the technical assistance line in the morning.
It is a great looking little machine, but unfortunately it simply won't work for me.

Great machine – I bought this machine about 2 years ago, it has never faulted. There have been no leaks and is easy to use and clean. I use it every day and the steam wand does a great job. I will definitely buy another when needed. Show reply
Nothing wrong with this machine – This machine is a workhorse and so cheap for making a nice coffee. Nothing wrong with it, if any gripe it's the machine vibration just press lightly down on the handle and water lid. Easy, easy easy Show reply
Disappointed – Just gone 3 years of having this machine with only being used once a day it now trips our power and leaks water everywhere. Seems like its a common problem with these machines

GREAT VALUE! – Just bought this machine for half price for a fathers day gift, my hubby was pleasantly surprised that the 'decisio' coffee pods make a pretty good coffee shot. And as an added bonus the pods are easily refilled with hot chocolate, peel off the cover, wash them out, fill them with instant hot-choc, cover the top with foil and boom - hot-choc pods,… Read more
I am going to try refilling with grounds when we get some - I will put a bit of filter in the bottom first to cover the holes. GREAT BUY! Very Cheap Small capacity (water tank, small pods)
Great coffee – It's been 3 months I use it now as I had an offer to get the machine for free against a commitment to buy the coffee. It's a really good coffee, and the free machine was very cool. Only bad point is the price of the coffee you buy then, but as it's good it's ok. Good coffee, free machine expensive coffee
Love the coffee so disappointed it keeps breaking machine is unreliable – Have had our machine for just over three years, had it repaired 4 times under warranty, recently broke again and it cost me $128 to get it repaired and now it has broken again!! The same problem, the tech tells me the seal keeps breaking and it's unavoidable, I even had it fixed and then got it home and the seal went again after one use! I am… Read more
peeved coz just spent $70 on pods! Had enough now feel like only throwing good money after bad, we are not going to buy this product again, found out it is a common problem. Good buy – As i have a very expensive and absolutely fantastic DeLonghi coffee machine at home, I was after a cheaper machine for the flat I use when I am attending uni. I was lucky enough to pick up this machine at Myer on the bargain table. $49. I kid you not. Obviously a well superseded model, and a very bright colour, but for the price? Bargain. The… Read more
lovely sales lady even threw in a couple of extra boxes of coffee capsules. Extra bargain, as they were the Tierra capsules and they weren't out of date ;-)
It has worked perfectly from the start, and the only issues I've had with it have been my own. Didn't take long for me to remember this machine was not fully automatic, and would not turn itself off after delivering just the right amount of coffee. Lucky the water container on the back isn't that big.
I don't like hot frothy milk in my coffee, so I can't comment on how well or not the little steam wand works.
I was concerned about the quality of the coffee, but after trying a few varieties I have settled on the Tierra and the decaf. Probably the best decaf available in pods or capsules. Just my humble opinion of course. The Tierra is sublime. A slight bitter coffee bite, rich and well rounded. Love it. The perfect heart starter for the day.
I haven't had any issues with the drip tray filling or anything like that. I have ran a descaler/cleaner through the machine a couple of times. Maybe that has helped prevent the back flow. And once a friend knocked the little rubber outlet nozzle askew and the next brew sprayed everywhere; again, an operator issue and nothing to do with the machine.
The capsules aren't cheap, but the coffee is so much nicer than the main opposition pods.
From reading the other reviews, I think I have been very lucky. Picked up a great bargain and have had no problems with it at all. Cheap. Simple to operate. Beautiful coffee in the capsules. Water container is small. Coffee capsules a bit on the costly side.
one cup and drip tray is full – We purchased the modo mio coffee machine in may this year. The coffee is awesome and so was the machine until last week. After making one cup of coffee the drip tray is full and there is hardly any coffee in the cup. Is there any suggestions on how we can fix the problem
how good is this machine!! – i bought my Saeco Lavazza machine from a private seller on ebay about 2 years ago. i prefer Lavazza coffee and Saeco is good machine. this one had been used maybe once or twice and looked new, it has performed FLAWLESSLY on a daily basis - 2 and 3 coffees daily / 340 days of the year. each coffee comes out perfectly. i did my research before… Read more
buying and it hasn't disappointed - i don't understand the negative reviews. read the book and use it accordingly. the coffee pods are available through the Lavazza A Modo Mio store and are delivered the next day express post! can't complain about anything related to this great little machine. looks good out of the box & most of all gives the BEST COFFEE EVERY TIME! maybe the water reservoir could be bigger?? But it's not a huge machine, so...... that's it!
Bought on sale at myer 60% off – I have had this machine for just under a year now, followed the instructions and primed the machine. Took me a couple of tries to get the milk right, but I think I have the hang of it. Comes with a great sample box and tested each one - the appassionatamente was for me. Only once did I have a problem where the steam wand was not working, but gave… Read more
it a good clean and was back to normal. I prefer the steam wand as I can make the milk as hot as I want and there is no milk running through the machine (a pain to clean I imagine). I also took the rubber piece off the steam wand as it was annoying and a pain to clean. Cleaning the drip tray is a little annoying with so many groves, but its hardly a problem. Size, ease of use, variety of coffee, price
Modo Mio – This is a disaster of a machine! It's already had a pump replacement and still has only a little trickle. If it were human it would need a prostate operation. It takes an age to get ready and frequently has one light continually flashing and it seems only random actions have any effect. It's unbelievably frustrating. It's also a nuisance buying… Read more

Pathetic! It is worth spending extra to get a machine that isn't cheap and nasty! – Have had a fixed twice and has broken once again! Lavazza are ruining their brand name by putting it on this dud of a machine. What a waste of time and money. Save yourself the bother and don't buy one of these! The after service is very poor too so if you are wanting to fix it....
A wasted space – A shocking waste of time and money, spend yoru money and buy your from a coffee shop!!! The Saeco Lavazza machine is worse then a lemon and I should know I have 4 of the things and each one has broken down and to get any action has been a battle and indeed this last unit is proving the point.
