This section is for the note 1 original right ?? Not note 3 – I guess some idiots below left a review thinking this is for note 3 ?? I mean can’t you read the title properly before posting ?? This phones touchwiz was so bad that after I start to use for 4 days it start to lag very very badly .....I bought this phone almost 2 years ago and it was already super ancient back then I installed a nougat… Read more
custom rom and damn this baby flies !!!!!!! We are talking about a complete overhaul
Much beyond my wildest imagination and surprise ...... when opening apps everything just flies through.... no delay no stutter
Overall a better expariance to use today than iPhone 4s......I was really surprised how newer rom still works on a super old phone like this but it did......imagine how great Samsung phones could have been had they just use stock android from
The get to..... then there won’t be any lags or at the very most ..... keep it to minimal......
Do I recommend this phone ?? That’s depends on how you are going to use your phone
If you just use it for social media.....browse the web.....watch YouTube and videos ...... text and call.....instant messenger ......then it’s atill good of course only after you install a custom rom so no bloatware will slow the phone down .....,,,don’t expdxt this to run graphic intensive games because it has a dated ancient processor and limited ram and storage space
no issues in almost 3 yrs – Galaxy note 3...this phone works flawlessly. Not rooted.Everything still.works as it should without a hiccup.I bought a bigger.4200mah battery from Japan.Use.the original as.spare.Battery/otterbox/spare cable and glass protector..$69 in total.A good investment to not have a broken phone.Speaker a little weak....IF you listen to music out of a… Read more
phone,no one i know does that. Was going to get the Note edge, but am waiting for note 6.Note 3 a great phone coming from lifetime of idrones.Took couple of days to.get used to using phone.People love iphones cause they can hand em to their kids haha..easy to transfer songs from Note to computer etc.
Buggy system issues – buggy phone that always prompt the lacking of storage capacity even without installing additional apps on it. the always solution is reformat the device but after a while the will come back again. yet they say that it should be updated for bug fixes but still no solution for the problem

Reception is weak – I have had my G Note 3 for a few days now and like it... except for the fact that the phone has NOWHERE near the reception capabilities of my my sons old iPhone3gs or my old and my wives iPhone4s'. Even with the same sim and same carrier the Note 3 gets NO reception in the same room where both older gen iPhones get 3 or more bars. Could be just my… Read more · 1
phone... On the music player/media side... the speakers on it are weak, tinny and create quite a bit of distortion when played at volume and when headphones are used the volume needs to be at MAX to come close to the iPhone, which has greater volume, bass and clarity of sound (with high quality in-ear noise cancelling headphone buds, not the stock ones that come with the phones)... as such I have had to keep my old iPhone for playing media since its an important part of my life. HOWEVER, the G Note 3 screen is AMAZING full stop. Bright, sharp and huge. Speed is terrific all around. Internet via 4G is really quick when in 4G areas. Even over wifi it appears to be faster than the iPhones. I don't use a lot of apps but the few I do use on the iPhone were available on the Note 3. I AM disappointed that the phone quality is below what I got rid of in my old iPhone... especially since the Note 3 is so expensive, even on a plan... but so far I enjoy it. In hindsight I should have kept my iPhone4s or gone to the iPhone5s but would have had to live with the inferior screen those units have. (posted elsewhere by myself) Big bright screen. Fast speeds. S-pen handy for 'writing' notes down. Love you can upgrade memory !! Light. Weak wifi. Cellular signal (on my unit at least) is TERRIBLE. Sound from speakers is distorted and tinny.
Decent phone with a large-ish screen – Got this through my ISP for the cost of $33 a month...for just one year! Pretty good deal if you ask me, considering other plans want you to pay double that amount, and/or for twice that time-frame. This smart phone rarely missed a beat, there were a couple of times (about 4 times, in the 5 months I owned it) that the phone would sort of… Read more
crash/freeze up, generally perform poorly. But this was mainly because the phone had been kept on for over 40 hours. This phone needs to be turned off basically every 24 hours. Some people leave their phones on for many days on end. I found, every time I rebooted the device, it performed sweetly straight after...
I found the battery life a fair bit limiting - the Galaxy Note Mark 1 seems to need re-charging every 1.5 days, give or take. Funnily enough, this is regardless of how much I talked on the phone. It had more to do with my frequent internet browsing. Well, more precisely, it's all the juice it takes to light up that humongous LCD touch screen...oh boy, that's the first thing people notice (and talk about) when they see this smart phone in use. It IS very bright and gorgeously vivid, colourful.
There's usually loads of apps running in the background with these sorts of devices. I know it sounds like obvious and redundant advice, but turning off the phone when recharging makes a huge time difference. That's another gripe, this thing takes a fairly uncomfortably long time to charge to 100%. Maybe ~2 hours? It is a long time. And I've owned lots of mobile phones over the years...
Internet browsing is usually smooth, even through an ordinary mobile carrier. Watching Youtube videos via my 'ordinary' mobile carrier was not a headache inducing experience. This was a welcome change from my last smartphone (a Nokia E-72, which had a firmware update that I read somewhere was not recommended - and to my chagrin they were right).
This is the first mobile I owned which had a touchscreen. It was a nice gimmick, but I had trouble later on being able to press the right symbols/letters/numbers first time off but this was because I was getting faster with my typing (and my eyesight failing), it was not a fault of the touchscreen 'losing' it's sensitivity. After formally owning a touchscreen device I myself still prefer physical keys (like on my aforementioned Nokia).
It's a decent smartphone, a handy crossover with a mobile and a large screen tablet computer. That big screen, quality streaming capability, smooth internet surfing. Battery charge life is a bit frustrating, a bit too big for some trouser pockets.
Still is current sought smartphones after Note:2 – I bought 2 of this phones when it came out and finally decided with the white. The size is my prime concern why i bought it, design and styling, can be considered mini tablet/ phone/ and able to take pics rivaled to standalone digital camera. I mean! Samsung made a wise decision and my admiration became non-stop as soon as the Amoled screen popped… Read more
up introduces it's features, settings are supereasy. Front glass is indeed a gorilla glass, (People! u don't need screen protector ) it can withstand normal wear without worry if it may scratch, it DOESN'T.i have it in my pocket daily with bunch set of keys rubbing the front screen and not a single scratch. I just wished they made it 8 x 8 pixel front and back camera to call it perfect..To be honest, i have the phone for nearly a year but I haven't navigate it's full feature except the how fast the internet and the ease of texting...love it!...I hate to imagine, Samsung would have a better concept of this phone, Note 2 just came out but it looks like a bigger brother of Galaxy s1,2,3 standard phones.. Super amoled display, gorrilla glass, dual core I would say! > competitors..This Galaxy note versus Apple?..got the picture?

great phone with some cumbersome features an lousy back up service – my note 4 chews up data and the battery life isnt up to expectations believe it or not samsung farm out their repairs to a third party join the queue for 25 mins for a phone call only to be cut off back in the line another and if you want some samsung tech advice wait 24 - 48 hours for a call back thats if you are lucky amazing … Read more
features with some dumb features like their stupid smart switch which allows connection with your computer and many other frustrating moronic software that you can eventually work out after having an iphone watch out for the unfriendly android
Great phone, very flimsy build quality, expensive to repair – I love the phone - when its working. However my LCD screen broke TWICE within 2 months after fairly light falls. And on both occasions it didn't just crack the screen, it was rendered unusable. The first time i just copped the $300 repair bill, the second time I ditched the phone and went to the apple store to purchase an iPhone. I prefer… Read more
Samsung as a phone but they are SO delicate - I would never recommend that for anyone who was doing physical work or perhaps for a teenager who is likely to drop them etc.
Pretty good but laggy – This phone is an awesome multimedia device. You don't need a tablet anymore. I use it in the train to watch movies/tv shows on daily bases and it only uses ~15% battery in one hour which is quite remarkable. Having said that, this phone is very laggy. All my smart phones have been android and Samsung seems to always succeed in making their… Read more
bloat-ware and their phone's OS laggy. The lag usually goes away if you root it and have your own custom rom on it.
Don't get one!! – The apps are basically useless!! Difference between apple apps and Samsung are world's Appart!!making the phone useless Do not make t he same mistake as I did!! Give this phone a miss! Can't wait for my contract to run out in 20 months!! How disappointing the twenty months will not go fast enough!!! Great camera but thats where it ends!! Unless apps even their own apps rarely download
Very poor reception in country – I only use Telstra and have other phones that work but Samsung galaxy note 3 has poor pick up does not have blue tick from Telstra for country use I own my phone outright as it costs to much to buy on a plan you can buy n9005 galaxy for under $400 on internet not chinese copy they are under $200 other than this I have no complaint with phone… Read more
great camera very bright and plain to view as I travel around Australia you need the best phone reception you can get you can get signal booster very cheap about $2 you just stick under the battery they say this can give you about one bar more but I haven't tried this yet other wise for me the phone is just great Camera and great screen Country pick up
Anticipating note 3 – I have owned this phone for over a year now and after quickly rooting and loading a custom firmware it is by far the best phone I've ever owned. Consistent updates from Samsung, not to mention the nodding community. THERE IS little wrong with the phone and trust me it's onetough cookie. Screen size, speed, battery life, updates, easy to repair. Must use HTC or Samsung cables, not enough ram or internal memory.
Happy with Sumsung – ive only ventured into the apple realm then recently purchased the Samsung Note tablet which has blown me away. The stylus writes perfectly and this tablet makes it easy to take notes if you like the feel of a pen in hand opposed to typing on a keyboard. The android shop has a massive range of apps too. good size, excellent stylus feels a little light or cheap maybe

Love the phone but there are few improvements that could be made – First of all, I love the big and bright screen. Makes me see everything much more clearer. But the battery life is too short, and a big problem that I experience is that there are wifi problems. For example, when I use wifi, it would say it is connected, but I could not connect to the internet. This happens sometimes. I never had any problems with wifi on my dad's iPad and my iPod Touch. That is annoying.
Value for money – I bought the Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 from Kogan 4 months ago. Best price around. It was delivered to me within days. Excellent phone. Great big screen with fantastic colours, I can't stop surfing the internet with it. The phone has strong clear sound. All the good things I read about it were true.(this is not always the case with some products)… Read more
I was a bit suspicious when I first opened it. The back cover seemed so plastic and flimsy, but it doesn't seem to cause any problems. It is very robust.
The on switch is in the wrong position, but I see they have rectified it in Note 2.
I just came back from overseas and was amazed at how many people I came across had the same model as I did or the later model! Great screen, good colours, cheap, does everything 'On' switch in wrong place.
Beautiful big screen – I bought my note 1 from Kogans in April 2012. The biggest problem with a large screen phone is battery life however even with the original battery I'm still managing over 4 hours screen time. Web browsing is a joy compared to other phones due to the large screen size. My note originally came with gingerbread but it's since been… Read more · 1

This review was done on the actual phone :-) Screen size and large battery capacity. Some Samsung goofs which have since been addressed
I love the big screen – I bought my Samsung Galaxy Note in February 2012, so I've had it 12 months. This is my first smart-phone so I haven't had the pain of using a small screen except from when setting up somebody else's phone. The larger keyboard which displays letters and numbers at the same time is a pleasure for clumsy fingers. I love the big screen and the high… Read more · 1
resolution display, particularly when surfing the internet, but I find that the 178g weight in my pocket is too heavy. I'm waiting for the Samsung Galaxy S4 release (probably April 2013) so I can upgrade to a 5" full HD screen with a weight which should be similar to the Galaxy S3's of 133g. Large screen, high resolution Weight
On to my third replacment Note from Vodafone – Bought three for work. Two of them have been replaced twice. calls drop out, poor 3G data, consistent freezing. Love the format and can't go back to a smaller phone. Probably due to dodgy provider software. Have the car dock and it's been great for navigation. Tempted to get the Note 2 but it wont fit the Note car dock. Size, speed, ease of use Reliability.
Fantastic, I couldnt live without this phone – I couldnt live without this phone, because i use it as my personal portable phone, pc, e-mail, txt , sending pdfs over email everything my pc does this thing does. I even connect a keyboard because samsung allows the note to use one with a mini usb cable connected, $5.00 part from china. Emails come straight to the phone with a postmans whistle… Read more
and msg directly on the screen, thats far better than my pc, which isnt geting much use anymore. I have 3.5 gb of data and i use it all up surfing the web buying of ebay and just doing anything all without squinting! I would give 10 stars if i could i actually hate helping iphone friends with there phones its like going back 5 years ago, one just asked how she can get group contacts on her phone like me, i said it looks like you dont have it! and it didnt. I want say anymore but just said go and and buy something thats keeping up with the times! Super fast
very hardy phone – Just dropped my note from 5.5m into concrete and all it got was a scratch on the side any other phone would be toast. I had no phone cover only a screen protector . I have no problem TXTING with one hand and swipe is a must. Don't listen to apple lovers. strong and great to use. long battery life. sumtimes clumsy to hold.
Best Mobile/Note! – I selected the Samsung Note as I wanted something for communication, camera,GPS, EBook. Communication has been easy as the charge is sustained. Unlike my HTC.(Hate) The camera is awesome but the shutterspeed lags. So no action shots. I went to Canada and the camera's pics were clear and vivid. GPS is great too! Android system. Samsung apps are great.
Ebook function...hmm no dont think so. I think I need a designated product. Writing is hard to read for a whole page. I dislike pinch scrolling.
The Note is slim and fits nicely in the pocket of my shoulder bag. I never forget to bring it with me.
I bought a flip cover that clips onto the back and covers the front. Suitable protection.
Great for games as well. I love this note. Ease of use. Shutter speed. But a minor inconvenience.
This is so good to use! – I love the personal note that is able to attach to the message for friend's reference. ie. map. I also love the design and slim appearance. I got recommanded by mobile phone shop sales assistance and mobile phone technians who tried to repair my previous HTC mobile phone. and it's reputation is pretty good. energy efficient, reliable. with 2 years warranty.

Well designed, functional piece of equipment – This was my first step into smart phone technology away from Nokia. I was so surprised at the interaction between apps, contacts, tasks and the easy functionality that the phone offered. It was relatively reliable with a few drop outs that I am not sure were related to the phone or Telstra but overall, it was an impressive, reliable workhorse… Read more

Love this phone! – i upgraded to the samsung galaxy note from the iphone 4S and all I can say is WOW! Loving the bigger screen - it is much easier to read than the iPhone. Also think that the stylus is worth a mention. Not necesssary to the phone usage but is very useful for internet browsing, personally. Never going to be able to go to a smaller phone! easy to read screen, reliable, easy to use Battery life could be better. However in saying that, it is better than the iPhone battery life.
Great – I upgraded from my iphone to the samsung galaxt note. I love it. The big easy to read screen, the pen that it comes with and all the cool features of the phone. never have gone over my plan. easy to use apps and easy to navigate the phone ans make it personal quick, easy to use, easy to scratch screen
easy to learn – has handy apps for busy mums who needs to keep track of things. so easy to learn even for people who have trouble understanding phones. everyone will enjoy exploring the wonderful apps that are on this phone including photo edit. the crayon game make you think of how to trouble shot so is worth a go. easy to use some apps have to be added
Glimpse of the future in phones – This is my second Samsung phone. I traded my Galaxy S II for the Note. I was sold on the fact that the screen is one of the best around with an Amoled 5.3" screen. Makes playing games and watching videos a real pleasure! I don't even notice the size anymore. I hardly turn my computer on much anymore either, as the screen is the perfect size to browse on. The brilliant screen! Still waiting for ICS with Premium Suite
call dropouts and internet strength – I have had the note for a couple of weeks on a Telstra $120 Corporate plan. I am experiencing regular call dropouts and very poor internet strength, whether I am in the CBS or the suburbs. So I am very disappointed. Has anybody else had similar problems? Very very very disappointed. screen size. call quality, strength, internet.
Great Phone, Great Functionality, Clumsy Samsung Functionality – Traded in my Xperia X10 for this BIG phone. Everybody complains or complained about the size of this phone, but it just slips into everything easily and nicely. The display is second to none, and Android is an icing on the cake. Current version is 4.0.4 ICS with Premium Suite. The Stylus is a great tool if you are using it. I bought it thinking… Read more · 3
wow, stylus! i will do so many things with it, but yeh, it gets used occasionally for screenshots and stuff.
The biggest disappointment was the glass screen, it is very prone to scratches. A normal ding with your keys in the pocket brings on a small scratch in the screen. It is very hand/finger print friendly as well not in a good way, so first thing you should do it get a screen protector. It dims the display a little bit, but nothing startling, I still am in awe of the display after 4 months of use. It is a great tool to have, everything is crystal clear and big and readable and highly browseable.
The Premium suite is nice and the Samsung App sections is good too. However one disadvantage for me was clumsy WiFi functionality through Kies, Contact management could have been way better. This phone blows away any thing on the market for versatility and ease of us, although the quad core processor announced for Galaxy Note 2 will attract more gamers. It is great as a Car mounted GPS, and Bluetooth is good as well.
General phone functions are very well done, I have not experienced any call dropouts or internet lag of any sort. I am with Optus. network strength antennae is good, however you might notice some interference with the built in FM Radio when the phone is near other electronic signals (Myki readers, metcard readers), no biggy.
Camera is FANTASTIC! it is just fantastic, crisp clear resolution and pictures, and picture edit function is great on the phones, same with Video recording and playback.
Some other important good/bad stuff which some people might find useful
Charge holding capacity: 1 good whole day at least with near to 80% brightness level.
Ultimate config: Use it on 50% brightness scheme (still way better than any phone out there), and use Juicedefender (great free app). If battery is draining, using the display in Auto mode, lasts for ages, I was able to last this phone from Friday to Sunday afternoon with only 47% charge left on Friday.
Built in Speaker volume is low compared to other phones
Volume up/down buttons are badly placed, if your phone is in the pocket and is meant to be on silent, a dent on any of the buttons will active the general mode of the phone, the standby switch access also brings up accidental pushes to the Volume buttons which deselects SILENT Mode. The total Package, The Display, the size, Versatility Easily scratched glass screen (Samsung please put in a better quality glass material for the screen)
Yup, its good – First smartphone I've had.... read the reviews carefully... most important fact was.. that it can fit into a pocket. use them, saves battery... dont know much about smartphones... but from what i know... will go with this one.. Screen.. Nice. Big. Cant do the thumb thing. But can do the thumb thing 75%.
Love the phone / tablet! – Love the new Samsung Galaxy Note. it has all the features of a smart phone with the screen of a small tablet. That said, after also using an iphone I would love to see the functionalities improve in line with the iphone such as ease of sending MMS messages etc, Love the size, the ease to use (no itunes!), it doesn't freeze like an iphone! The functionalities are not as advanced as the iphone
This has to be the best smartphone! – The super amoled screen is brilliant, all 5.3 inches of it! its not too big to use as a phone but you can really start to use it as a cross over device. swype text is so fast, i would never want to go back. the video and camera functions are fantastic polaris office is a real bonus as its a version of microsoft office suite. there are so many… Read more
functions that it will take me ages to work it all out. luckily most of it is pretty intuitive. voice to text seems to work reasonably well. the upgrade to icecream sandwich is supposed to work on this but that doesn't support swype text yet so i think i would hold off loading it until that is included. i was a devoted windows man and this was my first android device, i am sold and all in all i love it! Size, clarity of screen, features and android apps, that is linked to my google account Battery life - needs charging every day so i leave it attached to my work computer. because its not on sale here yet, i cant get screen protectors and other accessories easily. should have bought them from mobicity when i got the phone
This should be a hot potatoes – News said this phone has been selling like hot potatoes like in Europe and Asia, and I am not a single bit surprised. Why? Because I have been using it since Dec. 2011, and haven't regretted for a moment for switching from iPhone 4; these are the reasons: - The 5.3" AMOLED HD, the size and quality of it, changes everything: watching… Read more
video is a lot more pleasant on the bigger screen, surfing the web is better in the same way, not to mention reading books.
- There're plenty of good apps, in fact, there's no single app I missed since switching from iPhone; in fact I've got more apps on my Note than iPhone, the Android market is definitely gearing up with no question; I'd be very surprised to find any good app available for iPhone but not Android.
- The battery, and other function such as dialer, messaging, and contacts etc, work well and gives good experience on par with iPhone.
- In short, I can do everything I did with iPhone on my Note, but I can do it a lot more comfortably on Note, thanks to the gorgeous display!
Nothing wrong but admittedly, there's room to beautify the icons and the user interface - but this will happen very shortly with the latest Android 4 OS (ICS) planned before end of March 2012.
Wow - This is the One – This my second Samsung phone, my other is a Galaxy S2. I love everything about this phone. It has that look ( and it gets looks from others if thats important to you ).
