Will never purchase a Samsung again! – I purchase the Note 7 after NCAT ordered Samsung to refund me for a faulty S7 Edge. What a disaster! Although being on a worldwide recall and overseas at the time, unfortunately the note 7 bricked its self due to some sort of logic board failure. Considering the other risk could have been a exploding battery, for a phone that barely lasted 4 weeks… Read more
and with a bonus worldwide recall I'm quite surprised Samsung still do business. Every chance I get now, I warn anyone from purchasing anything Samsung. KEEP CLEAR!
Best phone I ever had, too bad about the battery issues – Beautiful design, loads of features and very snappy. It was the best phone i have ever had but I had to return it for an S7 Edge. Sadly it was a downgrade, the curved screens, ergonomics and UI were done much better on the note 7. I guess the s8 makes it obsolete now. Show details

This phone was the best I have had – This mobile phone was the best phone I have ever had. It was great to use. Sleek, Stylish and had it all. I never wanted to hand it back as it did everything and more than what I wanted and needed in aphone. Its only down fall was it didnt have a removable battery and all phone should have removable battery and a SD card slot Show details
The best phone that never was – I have 2 note 7s now wifi only but still working as it did on day 1. The note 7 was the pinnacle of mobile phones that died a sad death due to bad over exaggerated press regarding battery overheating & occasional fire not ever an explosion like the news said. There was a 0.01 chance of your note 7 going up in smoke yet the company had their hand… Read more
forced by flight bans & had to cancell what was the best phone ever & probably better than the new s8. The s pen gives functionality that no other phone can come close to. Even today. The s8 will have to do a lot to even come close. The note 7 was close to perfect. No updates yet my phone still runs as quick as it did on day 1 with a full load of apps it still wont stutter. It always has 2 g ram spare & dont believe the ram management lies.
If you set it up right it will hold games & app as long as you want in the background. But really who needs 20 apps or games running. Battery life still slays any other phone. Wireless fast charge ip 67 water proofing & best screen & accessory collection of any phone. Ive pulled 12hrs sot with this b4 the networks cut it off here in Australia. That was with the samsung battery case accessory but 8 to 10 hrs sot is possible & over 24hrs with light use. All the ne phones like HTC u ultra & Huawei mate 9 pro rejust clones of note 7. Don't believe the ram stuff either. 4g ram is plenty for any phone. Even laptops only had 4 standard the last yr or 2. 8g ram on a phone is stupid if it can do it all on 4gig. Note 7. Too hot to handle.
Same old bloated firmware - bring on a stock android option – Had the Galaxy S, and then the Galaxy S4, both running a firmware very close to stock standard android. Device was fast and efficient and battery life increased significantly, but this does unfortunately void warranty. Current issues aside I love Samsung hardware, but no longer purchase Samsung devices because of their bloated software and warped version of Android. Show details
My Best Phone – With release glitch solved I must say this is my best phone ever. And since all bad is sometimes good too I din't loose on recall. As pre-order customer I got free fast micro card 256Gb and for recall I received Samsung J1 as replacement. It's simple little phone, but it's free so I can't complain. Yes I loved my new phone, playing with it for two… Read more
weeks was great, never got hot like my previous Edge so I was surprised when recalled and waiting period of 4 weeks was bit long, but I received new phone and it does exactly what I expected. Fast, reliable, excellent video and photo. Pen is the must for me and I think Note 7 is equipped with one of the best. It's like having note book in your pocket, always ready for notes, simple to use. Battery is reasonable, screen quality amazing, Setup is nice and easy, search is helping a lot when you try to find right place to go in setup. I don't go technical, but as a user I must say this one is perfect. Flexible phone always working your way not the way some designers pre-loaded for you.
Note 7 review after using a Galaxy S5 for 3 years – The Good - (I have the silver version) - Glass looks fantastic. - The screen size is fantastic, I can noticeably see more on Facebook and SMS applications. - The phones works fast as every new phone normally does. I don't have any glitch issues. - The camera is amazing with its fast focus. The cameras has a pro mode which even allows the… Read more
adjustment of shutter speed among other things.
- The Iris scanner is good but after 2 weeks of using the phone it's taking some time to get use to using it.
- Fingerprint scanner works phenomenally better than the S5 and I can almost unlock the phone instantly by just grabbing it off the table properly.
- Battery? I can get a full day of heavy use or two days of medium use. (using the always on screen)
- Always on screen is brilliant and and you can customize it in many ways. It's a great addition to the phone.
- Stylus? I didn't buy it for the stylus and don't really understand what most people would use it for. It does help in some puzzle type games but I don't see myself drawing with it...
- Comes with much less bloatware than the Galaxy S5 did.
- Fast charging is very good especially if your in a pinch for time and forget to plug it in.
The not so Good -
- My biggest gripe with this phone is its curved edges. Basically it provides almost no functionality... But wait, It actually hinders use of the phone by a large margin. Especially with one hand. If part of your hands are touching the edges of the screen any other taps sometimes don't register or other icons get pressed by accident. It occurs more often than not. (The edge is not as pronounced as the S7 Edge so I can't imagine what they have to go through)
- While I said the glass looks great it makes the phone extremely slippery. It will easily slide out of your hand if not careful and slides of fabric with extreme ease.
- The glass is a fingerprint magnet which is not to be unexpected.
Conclusion -
While the phone started with a rough run due to the "catching on fire" debacle I still went out of my way to wait for it to come out again. I was able to purchase one unopened that had been returned from Samsung. If the Note7 had not come out I probably would have kept the Galaxy S5. It had been going for 3 years and was still going strong now. My partner still currently uses it. The only reason for the upgrade was that the Note7 has a larger screen and would operate better than the S5 was for me. (Less glitchy)
The always on screen, the stylus, the iris scanner and even the better camera are to me, not worth the upgrade alone from the Galaxy S5.
All in all its a fantastic phone and its features are still extremely nice to have as well as the smooth operating system its currently running.
Update: I am glad I spent my time writing this review for a phone no longer on the market. On the plus side they are going to pay me retail value of the phone which is more than I paid for it. A lot of effort in the end.
