Worst I have ever encountered – I have used five different detergents thinking that was why my clothes did not come clean. I have ruined over a dozen pieces of clothing by the washer NOT getting out simple everyday stains that have come out with my older agitator type washer, but not THIS washing machine. Absolutely the worst design ever. I will sell at a very reduced rate in… Read more

order to buy the old-type agitator washing machine. Also, it NEVER puts enough water in so I have to use the "deep wash" cycle in order to have enough water in the tub. The service man literally told me "I needed to LEARN to use the machine correctly". The tub/so-called agitator barely moves fast enough to even stir the water. I just threw money away on purchasing this machine.

Recalled product don’t make my mistake get refunded or replaced – I upgraded machine and sold this one. After I found out they are catching fire and you are entitled to a refund or replacement. I called 2 years ago and they said my machine wasn’t affected. Don’t do my mistake if you have this model get in touch with Samsung. There is a guy going around in Sydney buying them and making $500-600 profit per machine. So get yours replaced. I’m glad mine didn’t catch fire to be honest.  Show details

Broken lid – Had machine for nearly 2 years--been pretty good except after 12 months the lid cracked where it folds back and the screw fell out and now lid has completely broken off. have contacted samsung and they have sent notification to repair man so i'll see how that pans out. it's still under warranty and i won't be paying for a new lid.

So far very impressed – Our trusty simpson finally gave up the ghost after 30 years. I knew from past mistakes ( the dishwasher replacement) not to take it for granted that the same trusty brand machine of today will be necessarily as trusty as the old one. After much research and especially the reviews from this website, we bought the Samsung. Can I say that it was… Read more ·  2

invaulable to see other peoples ratings and comments in being able to make a purchase decision. So far ( 1 month later) we are very impressed and happy with this machine and believe we have bought a great model... especially when we read that there are so many lemons out there. Washes V well, delay start v handy, folding lid- great to get under the overhanging dryer, window in the lid- to see how things are going in there,, quiet operation, air turbo-> brilliant clothes notably drier with shorter time on the clothesline. very easy to use, pricing... very pleasantly surprised. Not much to fault, 3 minor things... lint filter a little flimsy to lock in place, auto water level selector underestimates the size of load... need to manually set, unable to automatically do a warm wash followed by cold rinse.

Great Machine – Despite all the negative reviews, I like my SW75V9W washing machine. My previous washer was also a Samsung (SW50ASP). I have had no problems with using it. The Air Turbo function is fantastic, I use it most of the time. Its great for when you need to dry your clothes inside. I put on the air turbo for 30 mins and they are dry within a day when inside. Quick wash, Air Turbo is fantastic  Show reply

Shame on you Samsung – Same problem as everyone else. Black gunk on the clothes, every wash. It's definitely a design problem leading to an uncleanable mouldy residue build up that flakes off in every subsequent wash. Given the response/brush-off everyone seems to have had from Samsung, I won't ever buy a single product from them again, especially a washing machine.… Read more

Black gunk and cracked lid – We started getting the black bits on the washing after about 2 years (we've had it for 4 years now). Now the plastic surround on the lid is starting to break down and go brittle. The plastic on the top went a yellow/ beige colour after about 18 months despite never being in direct sun. I'm not going to bother spending money to fix it, I'll put it towards a non-samsung replacement machine.

Lasted 7 years Pretty Good in my books – Lasted pretty long 7 years it did how ever have a recall which was fixed and still lasted this long. The child lock feature and timer comes in handy great asset. The Rinse cycle however was terrible wastes water, fills up and empties 2 mins later. I would buy another one if they had them still continued.  Show details

usualy I love samsung worse washing machine i have ever had – not only was it faulty but always seem to have a stale smell about it. I have never had a problem with any other washing machine. Tried heaps of different things nothing got rid of it. Had it fixed for fault but now have heard that the bag they used to cover the wires may not even fix the problem.

Worst washing machine ever! – What EVER you do, don't buy a washing machine from Samsung. Black stains came out and ruined heaps of our clothes within two weeks of using. (someone needs to be at home from 12- 5pm). They wrapped a plastic bag into the part and said it's safe, but I do not recommend to anyone to pay 900 dollar for a washing machine and be on edge plus ruined heaps of my clothes.

Do not buy don't even look at it – Purchased a few years ago after about 12 months my washing is constantly covered in black scales. Then the machine is due a recall so I call and speak with a lady in India with very poor English so I have no idea if the repair guy will even turn up. Put it this way the machine is such poor quality if the fire causing fault doesn't_ burn it I probably will

This machine has been recalled and samsung is ignoring me – I called samsung and spoke to Dennis on the 31st of December 2104. He said I would receive a replacement washing machine with model number WA75F5S6DRA/SA within 7-10 business days. They blame head office in sydney for holding the process up so I called head office and they said it wasn't the case and they said they emailed the VOC Team in the Philippines to urgently call me and they haven't.

I've now contacted fair trading and am still waiting.

BLACK FLAKES AND TANGLING – Constant problem with clothes tangling and black rubbery flakes all over the washing. Samsung's solutions didn't work, nor did constant use of descaler. No problems with our previous machine (a Simpson). The Samsung is going to the tip as I wouldn't try to pass it off to anyone.

Massive Black rubbery flakes and loads and loads of it – Still in Warranty just learned that my m/c was part of recall but apparently OK cause the green sticker means its been reworked. BLACK flakes appear in the last 40 washes. Some bigger than 50c piece. Told use hot water with vinegar then bicarb then Epsom salts THEN scalex. THEN phone again ! just done all that now back to phoning.. they insist its soap scum build up. Have Samsung TV and Fridge and w/machine - NEVER AGAIN SAMSUNG

Black Mold - oh dear! – I was looking on here for answers to my black mold problem only to realise it's a common issue and appears nothing is to be done. Other than the fact delicates get caught in the drum and snag (answer laundry bag), clothes tangle, whites often come out dirtier than they went in and this black gunk, I love the machine. Unfortuantely I can't live with the black gunk. Like others I wouldn't buy Samsung again.

Black mould all over our wash...keeps happening!!!!! – Black moulds residue left all over our bedding and clothes. Cleaning filter doesn't help or pump filter. Detergent dispenser doesn't empty and leaks detergent onto washed clothes. This machine deserves a class action to replace what is listed in these pages as a common fault that required pulling the barrel of the machine apart and high pressure cleaning to get rid of the built up mould! This is a serious OH&S issue and I want my money back!

use ceraclen as they have found other does not work Neither does their customer support. I suggested again that it is a design fault. Wow newspaper ad. says that model is a recall. Service person called to fix but still the black stuff. another phone call and another and another and great news a replacement machine. problem over? not bloody likely. now it is 2014 and less than 12 months old and back to the black stuff and phone calls. Now it is suggested that it is a build up of body fat etc which wont dissolve because we are on a low pressure hot water supply. Suggestion by them is to buy a front loader and/or contact a plumber and have a pump put in the hot water pipeline to boost the pressure. As a good will gesture by Samsung they are going to have the bowls taken out and clean .As Mrs Brown would say "That's nice". We wait and hold our breath but not for too long, I think the design fault does not stop at the machines. Customer service to me is not satisfactory!!!

have the gunky black bits throughout the machine, ran a Bi-Carb and Vinegar solution through the machine and put vinegar in the softener dispenser...left my machine covered with black bits that I am struggling to remove. Not to mention the fire hazard recall, which had the technician out 3 times....of which there was a language barrier so was impossible to get an answer on my funky smelling clothes either :( Steer clear of this machine.....I thought Samsung had a good reputation, this has changed my mind!

Love the machine but clothes are in knots by the end of wash – Does anyone else have the clothes in a huge big knot at the end of the wash? I hate this...I spend 5 min unknotting all the clothes before i can hang them out. Sometimes I even open the lid and unknot everything between cycles. It stretches out my clothes & in just a pain. Choices, sounds, clear lid. Tangles up all the clothes together everytime!

Black mouldy bits throughout wash, terrible – Very upset about the black bits throughout my laundry every cycle. Sad after two years looks like I have to purchase another washing machine – I've had my machine now just over two years and I am so disappointed in it and wish I had done something sooner. My machine just ties all my clothes in to one big messy knot, my clothes have been stretched and have a short life span due to the machine. I spend a good 10mins after each wash detangling the clothes. Very sad as I don't have the finds to by another one. The large space for clothes and the look Tangled clothes

Set your water level higher by one, clothes are probably clumping due to lack of space in low water level.

Black gunk – You get black gunk in your wash? Not yet? You will. The problem I believe is that the outer barrel is made of a rough plastic and the fact that there is no way for this machine design to actually wash down the outer tub to 'rinse' away the residue left behind after the water level drops. There is a gap between the inner tub and outer tub of… Read more

around 3 cm's. The powder detergent, liquid wash and/or softener will always be left behind especially around the top areas of the outer tub, all over the underside of the topmost outer ring above the tubs and also inside the water channel leading down into the filter mechanism. The ONLY way to rid yourself of the scum is to pull apart the washing machine and remove the inner barrel and then use a high pressure washer to blast it away.

No chemical, vinegar, lemon or acidic combination can work. It is quite simply impossible due to where the scum starts to build up. There is no force of agitation or pressure from a water jet to actually push it off the plastic walls. When the inner tub spins it is only forcing more residual against the outer tub. Not rinsing it away. So, once it lands way up there and sits, it then turns into a mould...and then it spreads. You can actually smell the change in the wash before you will see the gunk coming out in your wash.

Its actually not that hard to pull apart and nothing really to freak out about once you have done it a few times but really!!?? Why the hell should we be pulling it apart to remove mould?? Bizarre machine design and really, the technicians who designed this should be sacked, tied to a barrel and rolled down a hill. Or put them on that boat with the lawyers before it sank.

One more thing to consider, once you smell or see that gunk, you better clean it out pronto. A lot of allergies can develop because of mould being inhaled or rubbed into your skin each and everyday, all day.

Good luck.

Oh, If you want instructions on how to pull it apart....I could put together a photo guide showing what to do. But it is quite simple. I am not a mechanic or electrician or any such thing. I just did it. :-) See through lid, no agitator...... everything else...
