controls were easy to use and manual was clear when used. The touch buttons never glitched. Just now have a slight problem where turntable beginning to stop whilst cooking - so looking for another microwave. Ugh not looking forward to that. Still looking at Sharp as the previous 2 m/waves were also Sharp. Prior Sharp, also a Carousel, lasted 10 years. Very happy with the quality of all we have owned and will definitely be looking for same quality from Sharp again.
Failed after 4 years – Great microwave whilst it lasts but died after 4 years. I've had two of these and both died after 4 years. Very powerful, sensor works well. Just doesn't last very long. Show details
Rusted, interior peeled, very difficult to deal with manufacturer thru Tempo Services – Microwave was only 18 months old and outside warranty but should last a lot longer, so I tried to claim under Consumer Protection laws. Took me 3 months and a lot of no's but after submitting my claim to NSW Fair Trading I finally got a refund (or promise of one - still to get the $). one expects to be treated fairly. This was a very stressful experience - easier to find a manufacturer who doesn't deal with Tempo P/L for their "service." Retailer Good Guys were fine.

contacted by Sharp to see if they could help. Unfortunately we had dumped it and they were not able to help. The fact they offered to help did impress me. We replaced it with a K-Mart home brand machine and it also only lasted a few years. I did a lot of research and compared models and ended up buying a Sharp R350YS as the price was right and the features matched our needs. This was over eighteen months ago and I have waited this long to ensure the new model lived up to our expectations. It has and we are very happy with our purchase. Features I like are the defrost which is the best I have ever see in a microwave, the speed in which it cooks and the consistent results we get. It has a cooling down function which is handy and depending how long you have been using the microwave the function completes it cycle in less than a minute.
Good value for money – This microwave is a fantastic size, and was an affordable option at Harvey Norman. It heats food evenly and quickly, and has simple controls. The smart system is good, but not perfect, and we haven’t been particularly satisfied with the fresh vegetables function. noise after an item is finished in the microwave, and it continues for a good 30 seconds which is quite frustrating at times. However as an overall system, the microwave has been satisfactory.
Microwave perfection – This microwave is perfect for any kitchen. It doesn't take up too much space on the bench but able to fit large dinner plates. The sensor cook buttons makes it easy to pop your veggies in and have them ready just at a press of a button. Well my microwave joined the others. Failed after 2 yrs and 1 month – Like others in the review the microwave lasted just over 2 years. Purchased Sharp after my previous second Panasonic failed, though they gave years of service. Liked the size of the unit and thought the cool down cycle would help in unit longevity. Stopped Working – Looks good. Quiet. The cool down function gets annoying, but worst of all like the majority of other reviews, we hit the two year mark and suddenly it makes an unusual noise and no longer heats. I'll go back to Panasonic, lasted a lot longer. Sharp, prove me wrong! Show details

Microwaves, with each unit lasting for at least 7 years. Given the warranty is for 12 months, and we only paid $219 two years ago, I do not believe it will be cost effective to repair, but have sent an enquiry to Sharp - before it goes to landfill.

Worked well but didn't last long – The first one we bought lasted 8 years so we thought we would get the same. But this one last 4 years. No longer heats up food but everything else works. This really is a throw away society they aren't built to last more than a few years which is sad. Show details

This model seems to have a Major issue – This is my second Sharp microwave purchased on 28 February 2018. manufacturing product problem supposedly covered under warranty, if non manufacturing problem I have to pay the authorised repair centre a $77 inspection fee + whatever to repair.
Most definitely will not purchase Sharp microwaves again. Seems like this particular model has a major issue Sharp

proper customer service from Sharp as my family have been using there products for 30 odd years & haven't had any issues with there products until now.
This oven looks nice & modern, but it simply doesn't act nice & modern.
It's only been owned for 3 years & has been treated properly accordingly to the instruction manual with proper ventilation so there fault is definately not on our end. Unfortunately Sharp only offered 12 months warranty with this product, so this puts it out of warranty. A modern microwave should last at least 6 & a half more years then this
The other day I was microwaving some chicken nuggets & all of a sudden the microwave caught a small fire inside. I immediately clicked stop & the fire/mini explosion extuinguished by itself. Lucky I was around!
This microwave also doesn't contain it's radioactive waves inside as well as other brands of microwaves, I know this because every time I use it, it cuts out my Wireless Internet due to running on the same frequency. I've never had this issue with another microwave. This effects my business massively as I work from home.
My elderly parents worked very hard in there lives for the money that they spent on this dodgy-designed microwave. Makes me sad to see & they're not so tech-savvy, so I've decided to pounce & act for them..
If this microwave was to catch fire again or if the previous mini fire was left unattended it could easily have burnt down my parents house & destroyed everything they've ever worked for in there lives. I don't appreciate this poor design quality by Sharp one bit & don't feel safe using this microwave for much longer. Why cheap out on something so crucial?
I see this product is no longer being sold at Harvey Norman & i believe Sharp secretly stopped offering it due to finding out how faulty it really is. So once again, If this review is still up here for you to read then Sharp customer care has currently been of no assistance & I suggest that you avoid purchasing any Sharp products until further notice due to design faults. Not that good – Need quite a bit of time to make food hot even i set that as high, the cool down function is useless and it is not easy to use as there are a lot of functions, the noise annoys me a bit while i am using it. Powerful model works well – Got a reconditioned one off eBay and it's going great guns. Its quite powerful (950 watts) and the thing I really like about it is that is cooks and defrosts very evenly. Works fine! – It was a bit hard to grasp how exactly to use it because there were many functions, however, once we got the hold of it it became a household necessity. Initially very disappointed – We have had Sharp microwaves before and were pleased with them. We have been happy with this one until it died 6 weeks out of warranty . My one is fine! – I see a lot of reviews here saying they have had trouble with this model but we have had a perfect run. No problems at all - OK the number pad is a little scuffed but no big deal. Maybe I got a "good" one? I actually like the way this runs and use it nearly every day - mostly just to reheat food so for short time periods. Have always had Sharp Carousel in family - but now will never buy Sharp again – Let me be clear, when this microwave is working, it is a fantastic microwave. But I have now been through 3 of them - over the course of the last 4 years. They seem to choose every year to blow up and I am fed up with Sharp. Works fine – Bought this a few months ago. I just use it to reheat things etc. Does the job well. The only thing I don't like is that the panel is covered in some sort of clear seal and on the clear button it has bunched up a bit. It doesn't affect the use of the microwave, but takes the shine off looking like a new appliance. Show details · 1
