Car has still not left Melbourne for Brisbane despite being due today. No phone call, tracking app doesn’t work, customer service team can’t give me any indication of when it will arrive. Used SMB to transport my lowered car from Brisbane to Melbourne. Took around 10 days to get there but car arrived safely and was a hassle free transaction. Price was excellent and under $600 with B.S additional charges like other companies try to hit you with. Got quoted $2000.00 from National Car Movers to move the same car so AVOID National Car Movers at all costs. Highly recommend Jacob and the team at SMB though. Thanks a lot guys Show details
Repeated changes to delivery date. Absolutely no, none, zip, nada communication to advise of delays. They have your money and they have your car and they do not care what happens from there. drivers behalf. Internally, every seat was sat in with dusty dirty clothes and scuff marks were made everywhere that can't be reversed. I asked for some car detailing because of what their drivers did. I was told NO and they were sorry that I experienced this and would speak to the driver. The support team can only be accessed by email because they like the paper trail and this is a good way to flick you off the list by responding with "I'm sorry you experienced this". Later I saw scratches on my new car and I know they were not done by me. The SMB Support team flicked this off also by saying the pictures I sent don't look like truck damage and we will not be responding again. Their drivers in the yards or someone loading the car on the truck were the only other people to drive my new car. I'm shocked at the lack of customer care and support that SMB offers. SMB only want emails as a form of communication so they have a paper trail BUT that allows them to neglect the issues the customer has and having a conversation to sort any issues. I would never recommend this type of service.
Brand new car sent from Alice Springs to Sydney with SMB absolutely smashed with stone chips, they wiped hands clean of any liability, pay the slight bit extra and use a reputable company who will take care of your vehicle, hard to believe they are still in business, the care factor shown by this company was next to nothing. PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I can not stress enough, choose another option. Damage to my car included snapped off CV radio antennas, missing Max traxs, broken driving lights. Damages to my trailer included missing canvas cover, missing contents in the trailer and everything soaking wet as it travelled from Darwin to Melbourne. (Everything was packed in plastic containers, however lids had all blown of due to being transported without any cover.)
The best part about the service is that I received no phone call or heads up about the damages caused. Which was incredibly helpful meaning I was unable to drive the car home.
I was not given any notification when the car left darwin.
If you are transpoting anything of value or anything you care about please consider any other option.
Some simple care and pride in your work, along with communication could have solved these issues.

It was made very clear to Josh over serval phone calls that the trailer would be loaded with goods. Which was stated that this was fine ...... if you can't do the job ..... don't offer the service .... it's simple .... it's not hard... if your company can't do the job then just say NO ...... it's not hard.

DON'T USE SMB – Ute arrived with extensive damage. Tray Canopy and body damaged, scratches on body, rear light marked,driver side window wind deflector missing, excessive amount of chips on the damaged canopy from apparently the wind. Transport and strongly recommend avoiding them. I booked my vehicle from Perth to Sydney with an expected delivery between 17–24 March 2024, yet received no updates. After chasing them repeatedly, I found out on 24 March that my vehicle hadn’t even left Perth — more than four weeks after drop-off. The car finally arrived on 2 April 2024, and the condition was shocking. There was $2,900 worth of damage to the roof, roof rack, awning brackets, and front bumper. SMB claimed the roof-rack damage was caused by “wind damage” because the vehicle was transported facing backward. This explanation is not just inaccurate — it’s physically impossible. My roof racks are secured with four heavy-duty mounting bolts, each torqued to specification. They cannot simply “blow off” at highway speeds. A professional repairer confirmed that one mounting point was completely sheared off, which can only occur from a major impact, not airflow. It is obvious the van was loaded on the bottom tier and smashed into the metal upper deck of the transporter. The bumper damage had red/brown paint transfer that matched the colour of the carrier vehicle, further proving negligence. Despite this overwhelming evidence and SMB admitting the damage occurred under their care they still refused liability. Their conduct throughout has been dismissive, evasive, and unprofessional. After sharing my experience, I’ve connected with 5–6 other customers who experienced the same issues: long delays, significant damage, false explanations, and total refusal to take responsibility. Several of them have already been successful in QCAT (Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal), recovering repair costs that SMB initially refused. If you find yourself in a similar situation, I strongly encourage you to take the same route. This has been the worst transport experience I’ve ever had. Save yourself the stress, the time, and the financial loss — do not use SMB Transport.
These blokes punctuality and customer services are horrifically poor. Never expected that the 3rd party booking website subcontracted these blokes. No one seems to care, trucky constantly called truck breakdown and vehicles overload that caused delays. On the website they state 5-9 business days. Handed my car on 10/10 but my car actually came 4/11, they only started to load when I called them to follow up on 24/10. Loading and unloading was fine, no damages detected. The delay was just diabolical for people heavily depends on car for work! Avoid at this company and cartransportexpress all cost!

Poor workmanship – Transported my Toyota Corolla from Darwin to Sydney. Took 13 Business days which was within there ETA (10-15 business days). emailed SMB about re-imbursement for the wheel alignment and they denied any wrong doing. Would recommend using paying a bit more and going with CEVA, which I have used before and it was great.

Ruined what was supposed to be a happy event – Terrible company to deal with. My car was videoed when it was picked up by SMB and it was perfect. When it arrived it was damaged in 2 areas. the car was damaged by them, they refused to repair it. They referred to their T and C’s. When you read the T and C’s, they can virtually destroy your car without any liability. Damage was over 8K and as I got lawyers involved, cost was over 10K.
In the end they refused to correspond and wouldn’t return any calls or reply to letters or emails.
So, I’m out of pocket of over 10K.
The only time you hear from them is when they get another bad review and one of their staff asks for the consignment number and says some garbage about some other company being involved as well. Annoys me that no legal department controls these transport companies.
Do yourself a favour and read all the terrible reviews on SMB transport on the web, and use someone else.

Never Use This Firm – They took 12 business days to deliver. They did not deliver to the agreed home address but to a car yard 40 minutes away. It was then dropped off chipped and dirty left in a non branded car scrap yard with the keys in the ignition unlocked!!! no paperwork or ID checks to pick it up. Completely unsafe and unprofessional. that's just the tip of the iceberg. Instead of being transparent about the delay, SMB Transport kept extending the delivery date without providing any valid reasons or proper explanations. It's as if they thought they could toy with my time and patience without any consequences. Their lack of communication was appalling. Every time I tried to contact them for updates, it was like pulling teeth to get a response. Their customer service was virtually non-existent, leaving me in the dark and feeling helpless about the whereabouts of my car. It's truly infuriating to be treated with such disregard and disrespect as a paying customer.
