Numerous problems, out of warranty, another failure. Sadly cannot recommend SMEG to anyone – We do not use this induction cooktop much as we use a gas cooker. Despite this have had several issues including inductor. Out of warranty and another issue with one of the inductors. Pitched as "product quality, technology and design, known all over the globe" to "Made in Italy" standards is not our experience. Once you add in parts, call out, labour, lost time from work etc, costs go up more.
While smeg have been helpful at times, based on numerous issues with this and other Smeg appliances I sadly cannot recommend them to anyone.
Fantastic – Never heard of induction before but im glad i got one and a SMEG. Great look and heats faster than gas. Safe cooktop for little hands. You can touch the top and it doesn't burn. Its warm but you wont get scorched. Good sleek black look. This one is large enough for a family of 5 at least. Simple and easy to use. Im worried the top will scratch though so have been using a piece of paper between the pot and the ceramic top. I wouldn't do that for prolonged high temp unsupervised cooking though as it may burn, but for general cooking it prevents the top from getting scratched. Reliable, Easy to use, Fast, Design It's not cheap
