Awesome – We have been using our Jet for about 8 or 9 years and cannot find a fault with it. I actually came to look at other reviews as the teen is moving out soon & I was trying to decide which one to get them and I saw all the negative reviews. Hard to relate. Putting the bottle in isn't hard, I have even been able to do it with an injured hand. Four or… Read more ·  1

5 squirts and awesome soda water. We only make it as needed, thought that was always the logical point. Never expected it to last days in the fridge, even normal fizzed drink doesn't. Love the fact there are so many flavour options, we have even used our home made lemon syrup and some lavender liquor. Love it and wish it was still avail.

Difficult to use – I have other soda streams, one electric and one manual both work brilliantly with just pushing the bottle in to the machine with one hand. I required one more machine and bought the Jet model. Apart from the bottles from the other two models not fitting the Jet model, it requires 2 hands to work the machine. It is very difficult to both hold and… Read more

screw a full bottle in while with the other hand pressing the lever so it is at the correct angle to screw in the bottle. I never understand why excellent design is changed just for the sake of it. Makes no sense!!

Cheaply made junk – Purchased for son on Christmas. It's made 4bottles of soda and has suddenly stopped working completely. The whole thing feels very light and not built to last at all. Note the plastic fittings around the CO2 bottle. Junk. What a disappointment - that's our Sodastream experiment over for good. Show details

Beware Older style Co2 cylinder not compatible!! – I was enjoying it until I had to do a cylinder swap at my local servo and they gave me a co2 cylinder dated 2016 which was the older style cylinders. When i installed it into the Jet and pressed the button it felt wrong, it would work for 1 second and sometimes not, then the water in the bottle would backflow out the back and make a mess! After… Read more

closer inspection, there is small wedge pin that presses down on the cylinder valve to release the gas. The older style cylinders has a very small valve which the small wedge pin misses (see attached photo)

Very poor design. I had to drive around a couple of places just to find the new style co2 cylinder. Considering returning it back to Kmart.

Saves the hassle and the environment – I recently bought the Jet model at Kmart. I liked that it came as a pack with all you needed to get started - the unit, bottle and gas cylinder. It was very easy to set up and use. Since I drink a LOT of soda I thought I'd run out quickly but it's still going - and the three press 'light fizz' is quite sufficient. A big plus for Sodastream is… Read more ·  1

that it is a major brand so swapping cylinders for recycled ones is easy. My local Woolworths didn't run the initiative but my Coles did! You can also go to Coles express petrol, or the Good Guys. Some people even use dry ice but the YouTube tutorial looked a little complicated and slightly dangerous so I think I'll stick to swapping the branded cylinders.

The Jet model doesn't use electricity so it's portable and one less plug to put in.

I've enjoyed less clutter and less trips to the reverse vending machines to recycle bottles. It's also made my grocery trips substantially lighter! My quality of life has genuinely improved in just a week of owning this. Perhaps when it reaches the end of its usable life I will consider another model like the Spirit but for now I am very satisfied!

Qualuty control gone out the window – I've been a soda stream user for over 14 years. Had the old jet style which 2 of us used daily-on tank water so that was the big reason for the switch from bought soda water, plus less cartage/waste. One 60l gas canister would last several weeks. Since living on my own January this year & investing in the new Play machine, I found they were only… Read more

lasting a few weeks. So I recorded how many 500ml bottles I got, only pressing down twice. Result was around 17 litres. Many calls & emails later, it was replaced. Same thing happened with next 3 gas cylinders. Emailed again, was insulted that I was over gassing. I pointed out that even if I pressed only once that would still only be 34 litres, far short of tge "up to 60 litres" advertised. I've been offered a Jet machine but I'm reticent to acceot after reading these reviews. Looks like quality control is non existent. Will probably go thru Office of Fair Trading or even Choice Magazine as it looks like an ongoing issue for many. Has manufacture gone offshore & quality sacrificed? Great way to increase revenue if gas bottles giving far less than purported.

Excellent product especially with teenagers – This was a request from our kids for Christmas their combined present and much cheaper than previous years ie X-box... Bought at Big W and we bought extra bottles. This has to be the best value for $$$ if you buy carbonated drinks. It is so simple to use - we've been educated by the kids that you need to pump it more than the instructions say… Read more

and let off the pressure to allow for my bubbles. Following the kids instructions and doing this until we see bubbles on the bottles we have had no issues.

We do not buy their flavourings as a rule - unless the kids want something specifically. We buy the same flavourings we use to buy when we mixed t with bought mineral water so your tried and true 'lemon, lime and bitters' or 'ginger beer' concentrates work a treat. So do all the Bickfords and the 'peach tea' is lovely; works just as well with cranberry or other fruit juices as a 1/4 - 1/2 mix.

Best of all it is an environmentally friendly product as we are not contributing to landfill as the bottles are reusable. Inexpensive and everyone in the family can have their choice of drink Haven't found any as yet

Sodastream Jet – Needs 2 hands to operate and more pumps than recommended, but once you work out your preferred level of carbonation, it is fit for purpose and easy to use. Show details ·  1

!it’s working, no problem! – Having read a lot of negative reviews, I decided to take the plunge and buy the Jet sodastream. I had trouble at first for some reason but zero problems and not needing electricity is great.. I just think bottles should be a bit cheaper as we are doing it ourselves. Show details ·  1

Not what I remember at all – I had a Soda Steam in the 80's and loved it so when I saw these at Harvey Norman for $50 I thought, why not. I think the problem is more of a design flaw as the prong that goes into the bottle does not diffuse the gas into the water properly. After 3 squirts most of the gas is in the empty space between the water and the top of the bottle and when… Read more

So disappointef – After trying a friend’s jet sodastream, I bought one for my son’s family and one for me. After initially being delighted and no longer buying sparkling bottled water, I have sadly found that it loses its ‘zing/sparkle’ very quickly. This is despite replacing our gas cylinders and of course ‘pumping’ the attached bottle 4 or 5 times. I was going to give some as gifts but I won’t now. Show details

RIP OFF – Product is a complete rip off. More of the same corporate rop off nonsense. This product has a 5 star rating on the manufacturers website, nothing misleading going on there surely.... How pathetic.

It just does not carbonate effectively, leaks air and water everywhere. Impossible to clean the internals. No matter how much you tighten the canister it doesn't work right.

This product is a total dud being sold on special everywhere as its pure trash.

Tastes like flat cool drink! Fiz doesn't last long! – I bought this today from kmart and was expecting fizzy water. Instead I got something that tasted like flat cool drink. I closed the bottle and the fiz dissapeared and tasted like water again. I can't drink a large amount of water at the same of fizing it. Helps me keep my water intake up! – I grew up in a household that always had a SodaStream, and decided that instead of buying mineral water all the time, I'd get around to buying one of my own! Not quite the same as I remember the SodaStream being when I was a kid, but I'm certainly saving money (and, most importantly, using fewer bottles) and very happy with that fact!

Love it – Purchased from Big W on sale for $69 in colour black, comes with 1 bottle and 1 gas cylinder. I really like it, its a great alternative to buying soft drinks! fizz it and add the syrup and have soft drink right away! Also the syrups (when made accordingly) make a drink that has less sugar than most shop soft drinks which makes it a better alternative. Still tastes great too!

If I could pick a downfall I would say the unit feels very plastic-y, but being the base model I cant complain too much.

Wrong size bottles – I have started to drink more soda water so when I saw the SodaStream Jet on sale at Big W thought it a great idea to test the waters. Love IT ! – I received a Soda Stream Jet (black) for Christmas 2019 as a gift from my kids. I drink a lot of carbonated water generally spend a good amount of singular and packs when shopping. fizz in the bottle is exceptional. It works well with room temp or extra cold water. I like the screw in bottle holder to seal the bottle when depressing gas into the bottle. I don't add flavours but that's a personal choice.

The portable convenience is a bonus as I can take the system with me camping and so forth it is a stand-alone unit and does not require electricity.

Water everywhere and hardly any bubbles – We were recently given a SodaStream Jet as a gift but the machine just doesn't work most of the time. We've followed the operating instructions available online and in writing but most of the time the bottle just doesn't seal in the machine during carbonisation and as a result it sprays water everywhere and develops very little fizz. If we had bought it ourselves we would have wanted our money back. I could not recommend this product to anyone

Not very Bubbly! – We just replaced our Soda Stream after having the previous one for a long time. We were very happy with it as it gassed the water very well. I like it, my partner thinks its average – I guess it depends on what your preference is, we buy sparkling water from Coles which completely allowed us to stop drinking soft drink, the amount of gas in the sparkling water almost makes you feel like you're drinking lemonade haha! carbonated as the Coles brand one we usually buy but i compare it to purchasing san pelligrino, cape grim or Mt franklin sparkling water. My partner absolutely loves the Coles brand one so he is pretty underwhelmed with the lack of fizziness.

Setup of the machine itself is very easy, attaching and replacing the gas cylinder is also very straightforward. I can purchase additional bottles and gas cylinders at my local Big W. The unit is tall but the base is just a small square so it doesn't take up a lot of bench space which is important.

Would not rate it very high – I received the soda stream as a gift for my birthday, and I can only say that it could be better! The entire process is not very user friendly and the bottle just seems be lose towards where you connect it to the streamer despite tightening it very well. I even got my husband to check if I was doing anything wrong but despite several attempts, the water lacks the bubbles and hence defeats the purpose.  Show details
