Excellent Digital Camera – I have previously owned several Sony DSLR cameras, but the A77 is by far the best camera I have owned. The 24 mp is exceptional and one of the best features is the 12 frames per second in jpg. which is fantastic for action photography. Not a beginners camera by any means, and heading towards enthusiastic amateur or for that matter professional in some instances.

Works best with the higher quality G lenses available either from Sony of the older Minolta lenses.

I personally only use G lenses with this camera and have been extremely pleased with the results.

One other feature that is of great value is the ability to alter and set the focus point from the camera for lenses that are not spot on with focus, and the camera remembers the setting each time the lens is used.

I use this camera specifically for still photos, portraits, and landscapes.

I use the video on rare occasions, but have been very impressed with the results.

My camera starts very quickly and is ready to operate in under 1 second.

Battery life is good.

Highly recommended camera for the enthusiast. The 24 pm and the 12 frames per second, along with very high quality pictures. With the G lenses the camera is somewhat heavy.

Excellent all in one – Having owned a Fujifilm S1000fd for a great many years and finally making a plunge into buying something like this required a fair amount of research not just solely based upon the price; but also the features and I wanted something that stood out and different from the Nikon or Canon SLR variants. I did not buy this in a kit, but rather bought it with a Tamron 18-270mm lens. I bought a 30mb/sec class 10 memory card with 16GB of storage but later found that I had to change it by upgrading to the 95mb/sec 32GB version as I was taking full frame images with the APS-C sensor.

Sony has been very unique with their release, technically its not a DSLR, but a DSLT which uses an electronic view finder instead of the traditional methods with Nikon and Canon.

In terms of the number of features and expectations of this camera body; the only other camera that comes close is the Canon EOS 7D which is almost identical apart from a few features such as GPS tracking that works well when out in the open and regardless of where you are in the world; will take your coordinates allowing you to pin point where you took the image.

I have yet to take this camera in rough weather such as rainy and/or dusty conditions.

In the last few months, I bought further accessories such as a Vertical Battery Grip as well as Sony's F58 series flash; although most of my shots are mostly landscapes more so than portraits.

I would recommend this camera to those who want something different, rather than sticking to the mainstream of brands; and those who are use to pocket size and super zoom types of cameras which makes this intuitively easy to use. Features, 12 fps, Water & Dust Resistant, Easy to use Battery Life, Slow start up (3 seconds)
