images. Noise was reasonably controlled up to ISO 400, but at ISO 800 and ISO 1,250, you would be making only small prints at best. Still, the W100 proved to be one of the better-faring cameras when it came to noise at ISO 400.

Overall, our images were well-exposed with purple fringing only moderately affecting some of our heavily backlit pictures. Barrel distortion was kept to a minimal. Colours were also rich and saturated which we liked.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W100 is a decent compact camera with some manual controls. However, you'll still need to budget for a high-capacity Memory Stick DUO if you intend to take more than a few pictures. What's nice of Sony is to include 64MB of internal memory; coincidentally also the unit with the largest memory capacity in the W-series. Though the camera locked focus at an average of 0.5 seconds at the wide-angle setting, the unit faltered a little on the telephoto end.

I carry most of my photos with me all the time.

This camera was expensive, but the batteies last a decent amunt of time on each charge, and even better, after all the use my camera gets, I have not had a single problem Totally portable, easy to use, easy to naviagte menu functions, takes great clear pictures expensive

just stay in my handbag. When you press the button to take a photo, there is a slight delay from pressing the button and the photo being taken, so if you are taking photos of a subject that isn't going to stay still, sometimes the shot can be missed.

Good – It has a very clear screen and has 3X Optical zoom. I considerd getting a cannon but i found Sony had the best price and Key features for my need. This Sony camera is great becasue it is small and fits easily into a handbag. It has a high cost and can break easily if dropped.

OK – Decent quality for the price, but probably best kept as a spare or travel camera as the picture quality seems to vary greatly depending on the setting used (eg. photos taken on the "low light" setting generally seem to turn out quite poorly). certainly an improvement on the older models. Good for photographing people or landscapes, not good for photographing anything that moves!

Excellent – I own a camera just like this one. The picture's that come out on to the screen are just like they are real. Even when i went to go print one they were sill looking better than ever! i have owned a few cameras but this is the best one that i have ever purchased you would regret it if you did not buy this and you bought a differnet one!

Excellent – This camera takes great pictures, with so many functions, it is easy to use. The shutter release speed is fast compared to some other cameras. This one is a little expensive but it is worth it as the good clear pictures last a lifetime. Quick shutter release, good clear pictures, large screen expensive (but worth it)
