Glad I bought one – Have been using the SR12 now for 2 years and have never had a problem with it. Have had 2 other video cameras since 1994 and this one with all its features is far the best. Beats even a favourite Panasonic. Bought it at the run out and got heaps of goodies with ever so cheap... camera, Sony camera bag, extra big battery, 8gb flash drive, all for AU $1500.00.

Have been able to put hours and hours of camera work on the hdd all around Australia on it without a worry. Really good features, really good quality and I really like the view finder, unlike many other video cameras which only use the side touch screen. Like the idea that the camera tells you just how much hdd and battery power are remaining Umm, don't know of any.

Excellent – Overall, very happy with the SR12. I looked hi and lo for my underwater camcorder and I'm happy with the Sony SR12. Plenty of hardrive memory, so I've never had to worry about memory cards. Picture quality is good in good light, but not so good in low light. For example, black is never black...it's grainy. I'd buy a sony again. I've had this camera for 1.5 years.Good quality pictures/video. I take this camera for underwater videography and I love the fact I can adjust the white balance manually and get amazing footage. Really happy with it. Now that bub has arrived it takes good baby video! Works fine after 1.5 years of owning. Grainy pictures in low light.

Excellent – The new cameras that have the same quality video capture have dropped to 6mp images! Give me the high 10.2mp images and great zoom anyday. 1080 P or I, get over it, it's captured the hairs on the back of a catterpillar perfectly shown zoomed in on my 50" plasma without fault! Find one better - I dare you. NO other camera has as high quality still and video in the same machine, I looked for ages and waited for ages to get one. Massive memory means you can keep heaps on it before downloading or transferring and you don't run out of space or have to juggle sd/xd card or silly discs. It's discontinued (probably because Sony realised it was too good for the price they were charging)
