Excellent – Our bubs is nearly 7 months old now and the stroller is still like new. The Handle height is adjustable (great for tall people or Dads), and the wheels can be locked at the front. Is very easy to fold once you have the hang of it (with or without the seat attached). It has excellent maneuverability and is light and easy to handle. Canopy is fully… Read more

extendable including zip open mesh window for air circulation.

We shopped around for ages but hubby & I finally agreed on this one, and we have never regretted it. We have it in the toffee colour, and get many compliments. Having a very Prem baby it was so handy to have the capsule that also attached to a wheel base - we felt she was safe & snug in the capsule and never had to wake her to get her out of the car seat. We didn't purchase the bassinet and have not regretted that. We found we used the capsule when out shopping (as long as you are not shopping for hours at a time - not that you would with a new baby!!!) and used the stroller seat when out on longer walks. The advantage of having the bassinet would be if you go out visiting and could leave the baby sleeping in it as a day bed - but we found it was easier for people to visit us!

I absolutely love this stroller and would buy it again if I had the choice. Hubby loves it as well. Well worth the price tag and we will be using for a long time yet as it it suitable for a baby up to 17kg. Great stroller! We purchased the capsule and the stroller and it was worth every penny. So convenient to be able to unclip the the capsule from the car base and put it straight into the stroller base (with some practice it gets easier) without disturbing a sleeping baby. It is easier to maneuver, excellent quality, the colours are great and it comes with fantastic extras (UV protector, rain protector, sleeping bag, newborn head snuggler, 5 points height adjustable harness with shoulder pads & foot muff with the capsule). Love that you can choose which way the baby faces. It also has great storage room in the basket. The wheelbase is quite wide but this adds to the stability of the stroller. In size comparison to other strollers of the same quality it's not that different, but when shopping you have to use the wheelchair access, and watch out for small doorways. The stroller seat does not lay totally flat, but you can purchase the bassinet for this purpose.

Excellent – I originally brought this pram as we knew I needed to have a c-section to have my son. I needed a pram that was light and easy for someone who has just have major surgery to use... I found everything I needed in the STRIDER DLX. Its a great pram and the added extra's that you can buy are the best. I've had the capsule and the bassinet and to be… Read more

honest its the first pram I've had where I haven't had to worry that my baby would get to old or to big to it. Some of my baby group friends have just changed their prams to upmarket strollers due to the fact that their big Gordy 3 wheelers got too much for them or their 1 year olds have out grown their "baby pram" with there moving about and throwing the pram off balance...to me it seems total stupid to shell out $400 dollars on a "baby pram" to shell out another $100 - $300 dollars a year or so later.

Some people thought I was silly for spending the money I did to get the strider DLX and all it's bits but when you work it out your WASTING MONEY to buy anything else. You could go on the waiting list to hire a baby capsule at around $80 a month, a baby capsule that, while I'm sure the lady who hires them does her best to wash the linings, the capsule has probably been used and soiled but more babies then I care to think about. To top this off that capsule which I could have hired for $80 a month for 3 - 6 months doesn't fit into my pram. So call me a snob I brought the fansy capsule.

As for the bassinet, Why spend $200 or more on a portacot with a bassinet to go and see those ever nagging grandparents when you could have the bassinet that not only fits in your pram but is lighter by nearly 13kg then a portacot. It fits nicely into the car and you can put baby items in it while your driving. The best feature of the bassinet is the zip open section... countless days I spent in the park watching my older daughter play whilst my son (now 6 months and still uses the bassinet) would lay in his bassinet sleeping often he would wake up and lay there watching the leaves above move in the breeze. But the zipper section had another use for a sometimes over tired or over stimulated little man, if you open the zipper section and open the cover as far as it goes (almost all the way) and cover the mesh section with a light wrap it only ever took me a few minutes to put a cranky little man to sleep like this... It was a god send. We have also taken it on the plane a few times, it's really light and really quite portable.

The best bit of all is this pram grows with your child... from new born and parent facing to older outward facing children. I love this pram... and I know its cheaper now then when I brought it but I still think I got a bargain. This pram is the best... I have had 3 babies and I've gone through 4 prams and this one is by far the best... easy to use, looks great. not really a con but my baby doesn't need it anymore so I have the capsule up for sale atm, kingfisher with all its bits only 3 months old (I had a 54cm baby). Excellent – Fantastic pram and would definitely buy again. Removing the capsule from the car and putting it onto the pram makes it very easy to do quick shopping. Would get the bassinette for #2 baby. Infant Carrier is really practical and makes life easy to transfer a young baby straight from the car into the stroller for a quick spin around the shops… Read more

without waking them up. Great to bring the baby straight in from the car to the house when it’s cold, too. And as it takes a moment to strap baby into the infant carrier, it’s nice to do this inside rather than doing it in the car. Attachment to stroller legs is simple. Infant Carrier faces you, and both you and baby can look at each other when walking. Infant Carrier also has a retractable hood and a great matching removable snuggly cover which protects baby from the weather when out walking on a cold day. Securing to and removing from base in the car is really easy once you do it a couple of times. Removable and height adjustable shoulder straps means baby’s head is stable in the capsule. 5 point harness.

Stroller is easy to insert into legs. Can collapse to fit into boot, but collapses better when you remove the stroller from the legs/frame (easy to do). Option to have baby facing you or looking outward. Has three recline settings so you can tilt baby up when he/she can sit up better, to see more. The 4-wheeler stroller allows for a huge basket underneath which provokes many positive comments from other mums. Safety strap is really handy too, particularly when it’s windy. Comes with a plastic weather protector as well as a black mesh cover which has been priceless – not just for walking in the sun, but to make a dark cover for baby to sleep in stroller. Both of these additions are UVF 50+.

Stroller comes with adjustable shoulder straps (3 point harness) so baby is less likely to slouch or slide around, as well as fantastic snuggly sleeping bag. This is removable for when baby gets bigger or for when it’s warmer weather. No need for a blanket with this all zipped up! As baby gets heavier, Infant Carrier can become a bit heavy to carry, but there’s really no need to carry it far, just from the car into the house. The capsule has a curved back and it isn’t designed to keep a baby in it for long periods at a time, so if you do transfer it to the stroller legs, make sure you don’t let your baby sleep in it for hours.

Stroller does take up a fair bit of the boot in a medium-sized car (eg Mazda3 sedan) and it is somewhat heavy to lift into the boot, but I believe all strollers like this are around the same weight. It would be great if the stroller reclined a bit further back to be completely flat, like some brands do.

Great quality product – This stroller seems to be unbreakable it's always fully packed with stuff and constantly being bashed about either by kids, or buy us constantly loading stuff on top of it and it generally being used a lot in the past 5 or so years of owning. It's heavy for a reason it's because it's heavy duty. Quality, longevity, strength. Heavy and large.

Makes Life Easy – This pram has been wonderful! We have the car capsule which made life so easy when my son was younger. It is a bit wide for at the shops but thats the only… Read more

time it really bothers me. Altogether a great pram. Makes outings with newborn a lot easier, big basket, handle height adjustment allows for all heights well. Bit too wide, brake is a bit sticky to release sometimes, one child capacity so have to upgrade for second baby

Good pram, shame it is so heavy and bulky! – I bought a strider DLX model in kingfisher blue! Lovely color, material is really nice too. Baby seemed comfortable in the pram too. Love the large hood and large shopping basket, but I like to do a lot of walking on all kinds of terrains and usually like to have only 1 pram that I can take shopping, walking, etc. This was just too heavy, wide… Read more

and bulky I ended up selling it after few months! seat can face either way, large shopping bakste, not too expensive and comes with accessories (good quality) heavy, bulky, wide, does not take second seat

Terrible – I truely wish i never bought this pram... I am constantly worried about the safety of my baby in this stroller... I like it how you can interchange the seat/bassinet etc. It looks stylish. I have had nothing but issues with the wheels and screws falling out of the seat..

Great system for young babies, then we ran into problems – I loved the concept of the carrier going from the car straight to the pram without waking baby, so I bought one as soon as the Strider DLX came out. Unfortunately after bub was six months old and grew out of the carrier, she hated going in the seat. The main problem was that she couldnt see all around her and when she was supported and laying back… Read more

she had a limited view. And of course she never went to sleep in it.

Then when the 'H' bar on the pram broke at the joins (my fault), I rang the manufacturer and was told you can't get replacement parts, you'll have to buy a whole new pram. So considering they are a little expensive and my bub won't sit in the seat anyway, I now have to buy a new stroller and the broken pram is in the garage collecting dust.

I now wish I had of bought a less expensive version and from a manufacturer that can provide service or replacement parts. Great use with the carrier from car to pram. Pram folds up nicely and is able to stand upright, so perfect for the car. Comes in a great range of colours (we bought the kingfisher colour). And I love the sun protection and the peep hole in the canopy hood. Unable to get replacement parts. Was useless for us once bub was in the seat. And the seat is rather bulky and doesnt fold up.

Bad – Overall I wouldn't buy this pram again. I'd definitely go for something smaller and more lightweight. The main thing that turned me off this pram was the width of the wheels and constantly getting stuck while out shopping (very annoying not to mention embarrassing) Reverse seat. Bassinet. Kingfisher Blue colour. Very wide back wheels - can't fit… Read more

Feels heavy to steer

very bulky - takes up the entire boot (small car) and makes it difficult to see out of rear window.

Seat back doesn't reline so baby can't stretch out to sleep (seat only tilts back)

Heavy!

Good value for money – I've had this pram for 4 years and am now using it for my second child. It's easy to use, the canopy and basket are huge. The accessories are perfect from the sun cover to the mosquito net aswell as the tinted rain cover. It's easy enough to use, my only issue is having to take it apart to be able to fold it down to fit in my boot.

Wonderful pram! Owned it for 1 1/2 years. Would buy again – I used this for my son from when he was a newborn right up until he outgrew it (about 1 1/2). It was fantastic- especially as a newborn. The infant carrier was awesome. Being able to transfer him from car to pram without waking him was a God send, as a sleep deprived new parent. My son did outgrow the infant carrier much quicker than expected,… Read more

which was a shame, but so worth it for the time we had it.

We also had the bassinet, which we never used- never had a time where it was needed. So I wouldn't bother buying that again.

It's very easy to maneuver and feels light when steering it. However please keep in mind it is quite heavy to lift in and out of the car. I'd had an emergency c-section and my husband had to be there to lift the pram in and out of the car for much longer than if I'd had a lighter pram. It is very wide. I didn't have any problems at Coles/Woolies etc. But there's no way you'd ever get into most other shops. It is noticeably larger than most prams. Upside of this is it feels very stable and you have loads of storage (it could easily carry nappy bag, handbag and more).

The build quality is great, nothing feels flimsy. The material is lovely, easy to clean (which you will do often) but it does fade a bit. I had the red Strider and it had faded a bit in the year and a half, even though it was usually just spot cleaned and rarely in the sun. Fabric never frayed or ripped.

Overall, I'd highly recommend it and if I were to have another baby I would definitely look into buying one of these again.

Happy customer! – The steelcraft strider dlx 3 has been a great pram to push for all 3 of my children, it has done us well and is very easy to push, fold, unfold etc. Was very useful with the capsule for travel system mode which made transferring baby from car to pram so much easier for us without waking baby. The easy use of pram. Front swivel wheel sticks!

Excellent – Overall a great pram, looks good, easy to use, and especially useful for shopping. I wouldnt use it for longer walks in the park though, but I have another pram (with pneumatic tyres) for that. they can sit the other way when they get older). I like that it's a 4 wheeler, for maximum stability, and the parcel tray is a decent size. It's a nice colour (I got the Kingfisher blue) and very modern looking without that "space age" look. It's steerable and easy to push when out shopping. Came with a very comfy foot muff for winter, a rain cover and a sun cover. Good price compared with the Quinny and Maxi Cosi, which I also considered. The only thing this pram lacks is that is doesnt have pneumatic tyres, it does not drive smoothly over bumpy footpaths and fallen sticks and acorns etc. when walking in the park. But it's not really designed to be a walking/jogging pram. The back wheel axle is also quite wide, which can be a problem in some shops.

Excellent – We love this pram! The best thing about it is the different ways you can adjust it. Buying the car capsule was probably the best thing we did. We bought this pram after a lot of research. The best investment we made was buying the capsule for the car. It is quite wide, but still fits into most stores. It is also a little on the heavy side.

Excellent – Although we have identified a couple of minor niggles with this system, overall we are very happy. The car capsule has been absolutely fantastic and has made life much easier as we are able to put her in and out outside of the car. I also used it as a short term seat for her on the floor in the house when I was having a shower. We used the bassinet as a second bed for bub during the day, and took the bassinet and the base of the pram on an interstate trip, which gave us transport and a place for bub to sleep. Nothing really, except that the rear wheels are very wide, and I have found it difficult to manouver around most shops (shops fault for putting stuff too close together). Also the headrest from the bassinet is not removeable which would have been useful when bub threw up on it the first time we had her in it. carrier that fits so easily onto the pram body, it means not waking my baby from car to pram. Also, the basket is a great size and the option of rear or forward facing was a must for me. It is easy to clean all the parts as most are removable. It is easy to steer and comes with sunshade, rain cover and foot muff included in the price. It is very heavy and wide, so is awkward to get into the car which killed my back. Also my foot brake is so hard to unlock I have to use my hand, not even my husband can use his foot to unlock it. This may be particular to my pram. Also, make sure it fits in the boot of your car, as I have to unlock one wheel to get it into my peugeot hatch. Luckily the wheel is very easy to remove!

I ended up buying a combi stroller for the car and just use the strider for walking as it is still great for getting around with as its higher and easier to push than the combi.

I love the pram because the seat can face both ways. When my son just a baby he liked facing me - knowing I was there. Now he is older he prefers to face out and check everything out. It is a wide pram. I knew this before purchasing it. Excellent – After months of research and kicking tyres (my wife abandoned me after the first weekend) I/we decided on the Strider DLX. backwards. 3 adjustable seat tilt positions, but out newborn can't lay flat. Handles are adjustable to 3 heights (good for my short wife and taller me) and the wheels lock at the front. Can disassemble into 2 lighter parts before putting in the boot, is very easy to fold. Driving is easy and light. It can maneuver excellently through shopping isles and doorways.

It's got huge storage; other 3 wheelers we looked at had very small baskets underneath. The DLX carries 4 full grocery bags. And it's sturdy enough to hang the 'go-bag' for bubs over the handle. We've even put shopping bags hanging on the handle (with clips from our go-bag) and the DLX remains stable.

It's value for $$$; we bought ours on special for $516 (rrp $599) in December '08. We were looking at the Baby Jogger City Elite which was $850 for just the pram, and not as sturdy. The DLX comes with everything! The foot muff, bug AND rain canopies. There is a magnetic peep hole - no velcro noise when opening and the zip out UV section of the hood isn't seen anywhere else - very handy also for ventilation.

Overall the Strider DLX ticks all the boxes for sturdiness, maneuverability, easy of use, style and price. I'd buy it again and again if I had to! Stylish, eye catching, easy to maneuver, sturdy, can face bubs forward or backward, lots of extras included New born doesn't lay down flat. Hips are always at 90 degrees - does that matter? UV mesh in hood can get caught when zipping back up - I've now got a small run in the mesh. A bit of care is all that's needed to avoid this.

Excellent – We are really happy with this purchase, it's such a sturdy pram and will last for years. I walk everywhere and the wheel tread is barely worn after four months. I wanted a bugaboo but couldn't justify the cost. there are so many more features with this pram without costing extra. Huge basket and can fit quite a lot of my grocery shopping! … Read more

Bassinet was great for sleeping too. Quite a stylish pram fantastic pram. We didn't purchase the capsule, although it would have been very convenient not to wake the baby, who often falls asleep in the car! the bassinet is great to use for a sleeping baby, particularly when travelling and as the pram doesn't recline completely flat. Comes with everything you need (UV protector, foot muff etc) and is geat value for money he wheel base is quite wide, but we manage to fit it through the doorway and corridor of our narrow terrace. Use the wheelchair aisle in supermarket. Is one of the heavier prams, but can easily be lifted into the boot of a car. Bit difficult to get stuff out of the basket when the bassinet is fitted, but fine with the stroller

Bad – Overall I regret the purchase of this pram as it was really only useful for a few months while we used the capsule and basinet. Since bub graduated to the seat I have not been happy with it at all. To the point where I have just bought a new pram with the intention of selling the strider. I do feel it would be better in southern climates where… Read more

the temp isn't 30 degrees plus every day and 90% humidity wasn't common. Last thing I will say is that it is a big pram, we didn't mind this as we have the space and wanted stability and suitability for long walks. We've been using the strider dlx 4wheeler for 5 months now and have found the capsule and basinette fabulous. Not having to wake the baby when he falls asleep in the car is excellent. The basinette has been great bub can sleep comfortably when out and about for long periods of time or even on hols to visit the gradparents. Great that it comes with all the accessories and sun canopies are all generous. the seat for older babies is very easy is very easy to adjudt from upright to recline. Great that it can face mum or the world. Basket is really generous and can be loaded up with shopping (very useful when you can't grab a trolley) Lastly its sturdy, easy to fold and steer. Unfortunately there are a few issues we have had with it they are as follows. The hood on the basinet is very difficult to move, I use both hands to depress buttons and then my elbow/arm to move the position. The mattress provided is really thin I had to get a new one cut from better quality foam. Bubs head wasn't getting enough cushioning. The only negative thing I have found with the capsule is that all the fabrics are synthetic so in hot weather (we live in the tropics) bub was always sweating. Overlall I liked the basinett and the capsule the part I have had the most issues with is the seat, supposedly okay for new bubs, I have to say this is just not the case. My baby couldn't use it till he was about 3 months (when he got considerable head control) Its just to upright for a little baby with not enough support even with the head hugger in use. my baby was big at birth(nearly 10pounds), I hate to think what would happen for a small or average sized baby. The fabrics, like the capsule, are synthetic so again I have had the problem with sweating. The sunscreen is good but would be better if it wasn't black, as I am sure it gets hotter for bub as a result. Also the hood provides great coverage but is rather stiff to adjust, makes a loud noise which tends to wake a sleeping baby. The seat belt is also difficult to fasten , watch thoes little fingers and legs! Other brands have much safer, smarter and easier fasteners. The bumber bar on the seat is also very high up the baby's chest gets it their line of sight. The amount of positions for the seat is only three, many prams offer 5. While all of this in annoying I would have to say the thing I find most annoying is the fact that the seat tilts but does not lie flat. I didn't think this would matter when we purchased it but find that my bub does not sleep as well and little things like being able to lay bub flat to change the nappy when out and about really do make an impact. Sometimes there is nowhere else but the pram or your lap! Lastly would be good to have toddler sear or buggy board options for an expanding family.
