Stefani Ceramic 47/51

Dos the job and looks great – Simple and easy to use, great at removing the horrible chlorine taste from our water. We change the filters every six months and it ensures things stay fresh and clean. It is ceramic so I suggest putting something underneath it to not scratch you bench, similar to a ceramic plate. Show details
Great addition to the games room – Perfect and handy little water purifier for the games room, sits nicely on top of the bar fridge and takes the nasties out of our water. In our area we have strong chlorine taste, this filter unit does the job of cleaning that u. Show details
Total waste of time – After reading the reviews for Safani ceramic water purifier, I went ahead and purchased the 12ltr one. That was my first mistake, I have had two replacement and am returning my third one as they all have leaked from the bottom after filling. After the second return I had the staff check for pin holes or cracks, non to be seen, filled the bottom… Read more
half up and within a few hours this one also leaked. NOT HAPPY, and don't not recommend this one at all.

Ceramic filter that leaks – I had the same problem as Ann. The first Stefani filter I bought lasted less than 6 months. It had a slow leak that I didn't notice initially and I couldn't find where it was leaking from. It didnt seem to be the tap. I returned it to Bunnings and they replaced it with no fuss. The second Stefani filter started leaking immediately and was leaking alot more. It seems to be permeating through the ceramic container. Show details
Plastic tasting water – The packet does not indicate that water sits in plastic on the inside. Anyone buying a ceramic filter is buying it to AVOID PLASTIC. I could’ve gotten past this but the water that comes out tastes completely like plastic. It doesn’t remove tastes and odours as it claims...it adds them! We ran 25 full lots of water through the filter. Tipping each… Read more
lot out into the sink. After 25 times and still an extremely strong plastic taste, I gave up and packaged it up.
Also, we put it on the bench top and we’re careful not to move it, but it scratched our bench top. You would think they could stick felt or little plastic feet on the bottom so it’s not ceramic directly onto the bench.
This product would struggle to get any worse.

Great water filter – Bought this from Bunnings 4 years ago. Filters really well and water tastes wonderful. Ceramic keeps the water cool, even in summer. Unlike some other reviews here, tap is the original, never had an issue with it. Constantly used every single day, repeatedly. For the price it is well worth the purchase. Recently purchased new filters from… Read more
Stefani, with free delivery. They were delivered the next day after purchase. If you are after a decent quality water filter at a decent price, I feel that you cannot go wrong with the Stefani Ceramic.
Near perfect – I've had my Stefani benchtop ceramic filter for 7 years. I change the filters every December and April and it provides very clean tasting water. Night and day difference to tap water. Tastes like mount Franklin bottled water. My only criticism is the plastic tap they provide breaks over time and they are way overpriced to replace and Ive had to… Read more
do it 3 or 4 times. Disappointing cheap part that isn't designed to last. Probably costs 30 cents to the company but costs $12 to replace. Invest in a quality aftermarket stainless tap like I did to avoid this. Plus it makes your filter unit look a lot nicer.
No problems – My dad has had his for 4 years with the tap only leaking 1 time , which turned out it wasn't put on right, also tap broke once as kids were a little to rough. The water is so much better than tap water in taste, so I went and brought one myself. No problems but I do clean the base out every few months and only change the filters every 6 months,… Read more
can just wash them and re use without a problem . It is pretty good price to have cleaner water. Just keep in mind to clean it out first before you use it, just like everything else you buy, should always clean first. Be nice if it took out fluoride but hey still better than tap water or having to buy water in a bottle .

Useful water storer - but useless tap – Bought this urn a decade or so ago, not to filter water but purely to store rain water. Keeps it cool and taste free. However I found that the rubbishy plastic tap that comes with it needed replacing once or twice a year. At around $16 each, this seems like a calculated cash-flow design choice by the manufacturers. I looked around and found a much… Read more
better option is a 16mm Stainless Steel Beverage Dispenser Tap. I bought one via ebay for $20 delivered in September 2020. It's still working fine and I expect it to last a long time yet as it has an easy side to side action, not the up down option which shortens the life of the plastic stefani tap.
2 in one week and they leak – I bought this new for local supplier. I installed it and next day there was water around the base. I cheked and couldn't see any crack visible to the eye anyway and it's not the tap. I dried it all off and a few hours later water again. It seems to be coming through the ceramic itself where it is not painted at the base. I went back and exchanged… Read more
it and the new one had the exact same problem. Maybe a bad batch. I contacted the manufacturer with no answer. I will be returning it and ask my money back and look at another brand.
Avoid avoid aavoid – The ceramic candles, there are two in my model, both seperated between the plastic and the ceramic. Result was unfiltered water. Totally negates the purpose of this thing. I'm paying $50 dollars to drink unfiltered tap water. The company needs to be held accountable for this blatant ripoff. Show details

Does the job – Got mine a week ago, works pretty well. However the plastic bucket looks cheap and was giving a weird taste to the water. I fixed this by letting the plastic bucket ( WITHOUT FILTERS ) soak in hot water with baking soda and lemon juice during 30 min. Might be good for rain water too. Show details
Tap leaks constantly – Brand new and the tap leaks constantly from the on off lever so not anywhere you can tighten it, also drips constantly so we have to position it over the sink. Wouldn't buy a Stephani again. We had our previous one (stainless steel) for twenty years. Very unhappy with this new one. Show details

Does what it’s meant to – I have 2 Stefani water filters in my house and we love them! The 12l white ceramic is downstairs and the black unit is upstairs. The upstairs filter is filled with water from the bathroom sink. We love the water from the filter. It’s cool and fresh tasting. With the white ceramic unit I noticed that after a few months mould was growing on the… Read more
inside around the tap. After noticing that I washed everything out with diluted bleach (except the candles) and I do this every 2 months with both water filters. Since then I haven’t had any issues and the water is still lovely.
Do not buy – This is the worst water filter - it says 12L capacity, which we need as we rely solely on rain water as our drinking and cooking water. The base holds maybe 1L at a time. The rest sits below the tap or in the plastic bucket and does not filter through unless there is a gap. It is the absolute worst. I let it sit all night and ended up with less… Read more
than a liter of usable water in the morning, I've been trying to troubleshoot it for a week. Total rubbish.
Do not buy – We purchased the 12 litre ceramic purifier thinking it would be amazing, how wrong were we, no way you get 12 litres ,5 at most at in one go , the remainder sits below the tap and in plastic bucket. After 3days the tap started leaking , the lid also needs to sit on a bigger lip to stop it falling off , it also put a large scratch on my bench… Read more
top.I just wished i had read the reviews before purchasing the product luckily bunnings refunded my money.
Great – Was given to this water filter by my daughter. Now cannot live without it. Used to buy water as the tap water was not drinkable. I recommend it. I see people mentioned ion the plastic, but it what water filters are not plastic. I suppose it could be stainless. Show details
PLASTIC basin inside a ceramic shell – Just opened the box of what I thought was a ceramic water filter only to find a plastic water basin inside? So the water sits and filters through a plastic basin with a ceramic exterior? Don’t buy unless you are just getting it for the “ceramic look”. Picture on the box is misleading and appeared to be a ceramic basin. Nowhere did it say plastic? Show details
Caution!!!! – Buyer BEWARE!!!! Shocked, horrified, mortified and feeling sick that after 3 years of using Stefani ceramic water filter I find my water comes out worse than before I put it in. I had followed instructions to the letter, I changed and cleaned thoroughly all parts on a regular basis and found my husband and I feeling unwell for no apparent reason UNTILL I stopped using my Stefani water filter. DO NOT BUY. Show details
Waste of money check the product out before u buy – I bought a bench top water filter about 2 yrs ago from Bunnings and was good . Just recently i needed a spare part for itlike a threaded peice that screws into the base of the body so when to Bunnings and they said they dont have any thing like a wanted , So i emailed a place here in Perth and being the importer , they also told me that they… Read more
dont have a simple things such as this . after sending them some photos .. I get the feeling that the place i dealt with was hoping to sell me another complete system . Hey what is the point in being some agent or wholeseller if they dont carry some spare part for a Stephani ? i dont recomend any thing in the Stepani range unless you first check that parts are available. At the end of the day my use for a short time was not any value at all
Not recommended – Excitedly bought the 12 litre ceramic filter, constructed and filled it straight away looking forward to that first, refreshing glass. Never happened. Instead, found myself mopping every single drop from my benches and floor after it just leaked from the bottom. Clearly, from the reviews, it's not the first time. Complete waste of money. Unbelievable... love it – First purchased mine 10 years ago and had no problems at all and my water comes from the roof where birds poo everywhere. I used to get stomach aches every time, but now not had one since using this filter. I split my house in two and so I had to buy another one for the tenant.... no problems at all, even though she complains it takes too long.… Read more
But thats rubbish, I add a 2 litre jug every day and have not even once ran out. Sheesh, it only takes 30 seconds to add the water. There is no pleasing some women haha. Anyhow, I love this water filter and would recommend anyone to buy ... 10/10 Now the filters cost $20 and they say replace every 3 months I think... But I leave mine in for 12 months and just clean every 3 months and they are fine. believe me... if they were not... I would get sick.

Misleading product – Purchased from Bunnings for $79. Thought it would be a cheap alternative to the similar products of $300, however after opening the box discovered to find it filters through a plastic bucket when the picture on the box clearly showed it filtering through a porcelain base into a bottom chamber. Looks like a very cheap plastic with two holes drilled… Read more
in the bottom. The tap also looks like very cheap plastic. Took it back to Bunnings the next day and they were very happy to refund.
Should have listened to the reviews – Purchased the black ceramic filter from Bunnings and after my husband set it all up we noticed the bottom wasn't flat (to the point it was a hazard) it was very wobbly. Additionally the lid didn't fit very well - the whole ceramic mould was poor quality. Additionally it needs 2 filters to work. What is even worse when my husband returned it to… Read more
bunnings and told the lady it was faulty she said to just put it back on the shelf. My husband said he had opened the filter packets and run water through it but she didn't care. So some other poor person is going to get the box home and find not only a faulty product but a unhygenic one thats had its filters used! Poor form Bunnings.
We opened another box but it was also poor quality so went for the stainless steel one (same brand) so far it seems quite good and the water tastes good. Plus it only needs one filter.
Unit is great, but the taps are useless – We’ve had our Stefani water purifier for 6 years, it came with the black tap which fell apart a few months after purchase, I replaced it with a tan tap which the man at Bunnings happily took from another style Stefani purifier. The tan tap has just disintegrated so I went to Bunnings to pick up a new tan tap, they don’t have them ! So I bought a black one, after one day of use it has failed !!!!! The unit is useless without a working tap ! Show details
10 Years Strong – Have been using this for about 10 years. No complaints. Replaced the tap once as it eventually wore out. Filters are a reasonable price. Lid has fallen off a few times and broke in two places but was able to fix with silicone. Recommended but will soon be replacing with an undersink system to reclaim bench space as part of kitchen upgrade. Show details
dont buy – sounds good but it has a plastic insert, first day water seemed OK, then after all you taste is plastic, the plastic insert also has a strong plastic oder. after 5 days i took the item back for a refund and looked at alternative filters like 12L BENCH TOP WATER PURIFIER SYSTEM from FSA Show details
There is plastic inside! – After opening the 8 litre ceramic water filter box at home I got surprised there is plastic inside, the compartment that holds the candles is like a plastic bucket. I couldn't find the information saying the plastic is BPA free anywhere, making me disappointed with the product. I decided to call them to ask about that, and over the phone they… Read more
afirmed it is BPA free. However I wonder why don't they put such important information neither in the product box nor in the product description in their website.
It's OK but the design could be way better – We recently bought a 8 litre unit but it's more like a 6 litre as some water is always sitting at the bottom... The tap should be in a better position to avoid this... A 2.5 cm lower from its actual position. Apart from that, it is a cheaper alternative. Show details
Parts – Have tried for replacement lid at supplier and was told they are difficult to deal with and lid was nearly the price of the whole unit..went to stefani direct and was told not available, and best to see if i could find a lid off some other filter that might fit..sad service. Show details
Works ok – Got the 8 liter water purifier. Took a bit to fix the leaks and the filters work well enough for what I need them to. My biggest issue is that the tap port is located 1/3 of the way up from the bottom of the collection tank. So there is always 1/3 of my water that is stuck at the bottom. For every day purposes that's fine but I use my for brewing… Read more
and after every filtration session I have to siphon the last 30% out so I don'd have stagnant water, also makes it difficult to calculate how much water I need to collect prior to my brew.
Not Fully Ceramic - Contains Plastic – I recently purchased a stefani ceramic 8 litre water purifier. Unpacked it and realised it has a plastic bucket inside that the unpurified water sits in before going through the filters. This plastic bucket looks shoddy with poorly formed holes for the filters to sit in and it doesn't even say if it is BPA free. Additionally if this does contain… Read more
BPA chemicals, then the filter candle will not filter it out.
I returned it straight away and asked for a refund. They should not advertise these as ceramic if they contain plastics. They are also made in Brazil.
I have done some research and discovered southern cross pottery, where i will purchase a full ceramic Australian Made water filter.
Solves our local drinking water issue – Our local tap water is loaded with minerals explaining the high incidence of kidney stones according to my GP. The Stefani water purifier definitely improves the water quality softening and removing the metallic taste making it satisfying to drink again.
No Regrets – I brought the 10L stefani ceramic water purifier, and I am a happy person. No more bottled water. Show details
Poor design – Have had the filter for a few years but have had 2 O ring failures in a year. Big mess and destroyed cupboard

I measured the amount of water that I siphoned from the bottom of the tank. Just under 2.5 liters that the tap cannot reach
