out over a 1000 grey/yellow box stumps by hand and with the tractors and use this saw to cut up stumps for firewood. Whilst the 462 and 500i are much lighter and a real pleasure to use, they do not feel like they will still be operating in another 20+ years like the 441 will. I initially put a new light bar on, which is about 160 grammes lighter than the solid bar. However the light bar can flex and having a hollow centre will not stand the punishment that the older style bars can. I sold a 460 and 461, perhaps the best saws ever produced by Stihl, but rate the MS 441 very close, just a little less power. This saw is a little heavy to use to trim branches for a long time, hence the magnificent new 261, but to cut down large dense wooded trees and cut into firebox size, the MS 441 is in a league of its own. It is a pity it has been discontinued but Stihl has two other superb saws in the 70cc class.

Best saw I've used – I've used this saw for the last two seasons and is power and anti vib is amazing. Yesterday I used my mates 038magnum it's about 5 years old but only had little use, after about 5 minutes I reached for my ms441 cm. Felt like it had 20 more cc.  Show details

makes cutting wood almost easy – I have owned and heavily used this chainsaw for approx 2 years and cannot fault it. HEAPS of power, great anti vibration, great air cleaner. I am a farmer and have owned and used several chainsaws and the MS441 is the best saw I have ever used. I do more cutting in less time because of this saw. Best saw ever – I bought this saw towards the end of last winter so have not used it too much just yet but it is an absolute weapon. I stepped down from a 72cc Ebay saw and was concerned I would lose power but this thing has at least 2x the power of a cheaper saw with same engine size. acceleration/no lag. Reasonable weight. well balanced can take a while to start first use of the day (maybe 10 pulls) but no problems after its been running.

Excellent – I have various saws and Stihl are the go. My choice is the MS 441 Magnum, which runs a 75cm bar, and cuts 800t of timber a week, with no troubles. The 660 & 880 are also excellent new style saws, but are a little heavy on the back & arms, at the end of the day. service & minor parts availability for all Stihls. sometimes a little hard to start when cold,but hang on when its hot

Excellent – A great all round saw, I have used the 460 and the 660 a lot, both are good saws but I found my wrists and hands got quite painful after prolonged use. The new anti vibe on the 441 is great and vibration is far less than the other saws, my wrists and hands feel better and I'm being more productive....I highly recommend this GREAT SAW! Excellent – fantastic saw wouldnt buy anything else. have had eq husky before hand and doesnt come near in build quality and technology that the stihl has. and with the stihl bar and chain instead of oregon makes for a far better mechine high power to weight ratio. heavy duty 2 stage air filter with particle separation. stratified carby giving better fuel… Read more
