For 60 years I’ve eaten Paddle pops. I haven’t had one for about 4 years until recently. I realise I now react to them and can no longer eat them. The addition of calcium ( because I already have high calcium levels) and possibly other weird and wonderful new fillers and stabilisers I now react to. My love affair has just ended with them . So sad But better than running to the toilet 6 times in an hour. Show details

The butchered chocolate paddle pop. Streets take notice! Give the public what they want – Hi all, I also got the same lame response from Streets when I told them that their chocolate paddle pop became a flop. The missing ingredient is buttermilk. Thats is what made the ice cream so amazingly smooth, tasty and mind blowing. The issue with society today is that you can’t enjoy a dessert that is not super healthy for you. Streets, … Read more

it’s okay, you can enjoy yourself with junk food now and then. Streets need to give the public what they want & if it the paddle pop was removed from schools due to health stars who cares, you would make more money from the general public giving them what they want.

Small Horrible Iced Treat – Not a big sweet eater but purchased some Choc Paddle Pops today for nostalgic reasons. What a hilarious experience. So tiny, very watery and so sad to see the decline in the quality. Never again hence the title of my review for you smart people. Do what I do and if the kids have been good and have earnt a treat, take them to an icecream shop. Show details

Paddle Pop changing Again! – The Original chocolate Paddle Pop should have never changed. If parents were that worried about what their kids eat, the shouldn't allow them to have it. Give them some other ice-cream, but it was outrageous that the rest of us had to do without the original fantastic taste. I can tell the difference, and I can tell you I don't buy anywhere the… Read more ·  2

amount I used to. The original chocolate paddle pop was the best-tasting chocolate in the world. Bring the original back and rename any 'parent approved' ice-cream' as 'parent censored' paddle pop. If the parents are worried about their kids weight, make the kids go outside to play more that sitting at a computer. I grew up with the original choc. paddle pop and I'm very healthy. I used to play outside all the time. Of course, playstations and the like didn't exist. Nothing's as good as playing outside (with an original choc. paddle pop in your hand). As for the banana one, I don't like it anyway, but I do feel for the people who do. Isn't it interesting that, to my knowledge, parents seem to have only targeted Paddle Pops? In 1997-1998 there was a sort of caramelly & something else flavoured PP, and it was fabulous. Of course, they had to go and get rid of that as well. Streets, you have really gone down the drain. Shame on you for turning your back on all the Aussies that were loyal to you for decades. Shame on you! Chocolate (the original-flavoured) was the best tasting chocolate ice-cream in the world, and I am someone who is a world-traveller. Streets went and changed the recipe to make parents happy. I've been a loyal choc, p.p. consumer for over decades. I guess it doesn't matter if loyal customers like me are happy.

Good – Paddle Pop's are a great treat for the whole family and the chocolate flavour is appealing, especially to children. Paddle Pops often have promotions, where certain sticks entitle you to a free ice cream. The chocolate flavour is thick and creamy. Perfect for a hot day. These ice-creams are a reasonable size for the price you pay, and the stick is… Read more

easy to hold without making a mess like some other ice-creams cause. From memory, they only come in single size, or packs of 8. I think packet sizes of 4,6, 8 and 12 would be better.

What happened – What has happened to chocolate Paddle Pops.. I don't know what I just ate, they are like soft chocolate mousse on a stick and have a strange flavour that tastes nothing like the original. They were always icy and milky.. now just a dense, unstable blob on a stick like an inferior copy.

Shrinkflation at its finest – What is this? An ice cream for ants? I just wanted a taste of that sweet childhood nostalgia, but what I got was a dab of gooey, tasteless, gelatine mess wrapped in what seems like a family sized plastic chip packet compared to what was inside. Gross. Tl;dr - wanted fond memories, received heartache and Christmas is ruined. Show details

Streets has lost me as a customer – The ‘new’ chocolate Paddle pop tastes absolutely horrible. It tastes a bit like a chocolate Billabong which I’ve never been fond of. Why do the geniuses at these companies feel the need to bow to the safety police (aka Health authorities) by making a decades old favourite, into something that is now inedible, just so that school kids can be… Read more

Thanks for ruining a favourite! – What the hell have you done to the taste of the old faithful chocolate paddle pop! The taste is what made it iconic! What we have now in the shape of what we once knew is some cheap, fake rip off of something so many people grew up loving. You’ve destroyed something that didn’t need to be touched! And all to save money, I’m sure. But you’re not going to save money sending customers away by the truckload with this rubbish! Show details

Too small – You just don't feel like you've enjoyed a paddle pop anymore now that they're smaller than they used to be. So you feel like you need to eat a second one in order to feel you've enjoyed it- which is maybe why they sneakily decreased the size Show details

Paddle Pops Ruined – Wow awful - I couldn’t believe this was the ice cream I grew up with. It has an awful thickener taste or some problem with the texture and flavour. Went online to make sure it just wasn’t me.

They ruined Paddlepops – My mum mentioned Paddlepops had changed & they weren't any good at all anymore. She was shocked & her mouth literally gaped open when I said I hadn't noticed. Until I purchased another box from a different store than usual & ended up with a box of the "new" paddlepops. She was so right, they're utterly vile! Nothing at all like the old… Read more

paddlepops, not a nice change at all & not something I'd want to eat....ever! Luckily I knew where I could still get the old recipe so went straight out & stocked up on those. I was also able to directly compare the two, one after the other & started with an original immediately followed by the amended recipe. Wow!...I was really surprised just how different they are & found nothing at all thats nice about them now.

Whoever they surveyed who told them they could barely taste the difference and liked the new recipe were either lying or they clearly weren't paddlepop eaters to begin with so didn't have a clue!!

The texture is different. The chocolate barely tastes like chocolate let alone the rich chocolate flavour they were before. They have a washed out flavour thats almost like like someone thickened them with cornflour. They also leave the most hideous aftertaste in your mouth that takes a while to go away. Ive been a paddlepop lover for 40yrs but I'm sad to say that as soon as the old recipe are no longer available to buy, there's not a chance I'll be buying them again. I compared both chocolate and banana & both are exactly the same, just disgusting. Their sales figures will hopefully show them the error of their ways & with any luck, sense will prevail and they'll change them back. If not, they certainly wont be found in my freezer anymore. No one in my house wants to eat them. Bad move there Streets, you re eally did just ruin paddlepols!

Chocolate paddepop disappointing – Bought pack of chocolate paddlepops on special for a treat as they've always been a favourite. Sadly something has changed. They tasted weird - malty and milk powdery with a watery chocolate flavour - reminded me of the space sticks from the 1970s and that's not a good association. Even the kids didn't like them. We don't be buying these again. Show details

Bring back the old formula!! – Paddle pops were a staple in our household for years. Now they are inedible. I messaged streets and this was the response. We have, however, kept the taste profile the same which means no change to the type of flavour used or the amount used. No. I will never purchase again. They taste like rubbish. And the rubbish is where the rest of the box went!
