Love this machine – Strange to see the negative reviews here. I love mine! Had it for about 16 years and I've yet to find a better way to make things like Pesto. It's a shame they still don't make this design of chopper any more...
Very disappointing, waste of money – I am very disappointed with my Sunbeam MultiChopper. I have only used my MultiChopper about 5 times and I have the same problem as a lot of people, the plastic connector is out of shape therefore doesn't work. I thought it was me until I read some of the readers reviews. In the bin!!
poor design of the motor - terrible unit – I bought it because it look nice but after 3 uses, the motor gave up working and the blades could only rotate when there is nothing in the jar. Otherwise, whatever I put in would prevent the blades from rotating. I had it replaced as it was under 12 month warranty. Guess what, the same problem happened again and I can clearly remember how many… Read more
time I have used it since the replacement: only 12 times! Problems is this time it has exceeded the 12 month warranty period (Strangely, the warranty didn't re-start from the date I had the replacement. It actually started without inturruption right from the date of initial purchase!!)
I always carefully followed the instructions in the manual and dared not to keep the motor running for more than the recommended seconds for each pulse but sadly, the motor still went broken! I reckon the unit is not properly designed! The advice to anyone who may fall in love with this unit (like me initially): DON"T buy it as you simply waste your money! A nice jar bad design of the motor
Great for chopping and pureeing – I bought this as our blender was getting a bit old and needed a new seal. I find this works really well when preparing baby food, I put cooked veges and chicken and wizz it up and it is easy to remove the blades and scrape out the contents easily. It also whips cream and egg whites quickly and efficiently. It has a few options with the attatchments.
Adore this - use it everyday – Bought from an Op Shop for $5. All I can say is that I will always have one of these! I use it for chopping, mixing, blending. No issues with cogs at all. A little wear, to be expected, but if handled correctly, I haven't seen any further wear. Adore it! Easy for kids to use (with supervision with littlies), easy to clean, quick, multitasking,… Read more
LOVE the glass jug. the only thing I can think of, is that I wish the metal tag at the bottom (for the blades) wasn't metal, so that I could use it in the microwave. Other than that , nothing!
Very disappointing – I first used my Sunbeam multichopper plus to mix spice paste and whip cream. For these very simple tasks it was initially ok. After after using it no more that times when I tried to use it for making smoothines, chopping vegetables or crushing ice, I found that the plastic at the top of the blades had become distorted and will no longer fit with the engine. Poorly made
Terrible – Terrible terrible terrible product. Only used a handful of times and the plastic has worn out rendering it useless. I can't believe I can't find my receipt. Do not buy this product. Easy to clean with mechanism exterior to jug Made of cheap plastic which wears out and is unable to turn the chopping blades.
Completely agree
Excellent – Fantastic, best appliance we've had. I would recommend it to anyone who has a family and needs something to chop everything from ice, biscuits (for cakes), apricots (for apricot balls) and the list goes on. Love it! It makes awesome smoothies, frappes, chops ice brilliantly, biscuits for cakes in an instant, etc... The plastic on the top has… Read more
worn and thus the blades need replacing - happy to do this (if I can get them) after a year of ALOT of use!
Good – Great appliance. Easy and quick to use and to wash. Brilliant for smoothies and milkshakes, chopping up veges and nuts, even cheese (although parmesan finally killed the plastic blade shaft). I would highly recommend this product. Simple to use, very easy to clean. Glass jug can be put into the dishwasher. Light and quick to get out and use if you… Read more
are in the middle of cooking dinner When chopping items that need a longer processing time (i.e. longer than 30 secs) the motor starts to heat up and you can smell when you need to give it a rest - it is fine if you 'pulse' instead. The blade shaft is plastic and has been worn down through use until it eventually snapped off. Replacement cost is $30 which I was happy to pay as I love the applicance and get so much use out of it.
Good product totally ruined by plastic connection of blade to motor – A bit too noisy but useful - until grooved part where blade connects to motor got distorted - now totally useless and replacement part too expensive. Not too bulky & easy to clean Nasty high pitched noise and fragile blade connection mechanism
I agree. I used my multichopper about 5 times before it became unusable because of the plastic connection on the blade. Very frustrating
Terrible – The head of the drive shaft has rounded off after probably six uses and now it makes a lot of noise and does nought. Bad design to make the main drive head from soft plastic as it wears very quickly and renders the machine useless not sure if there are any, Its handy and worked well for five weeks Cheap soft plastic drive shaft
Terrible – After only 4 uses of this product the cogged plastic part from the slicer that fits into the head piece to allow it to rotate has been damaged. The cogs have been worn off and it no longer rotates due to the cog fitment. The plastic is too soft to be a moving part. The Multi Chopper had been rendered useless mainly because I did not keep the… Read more
purhase receipt to make a claim. Nothing really The moving parts are made of very light plastic and is prone to wear and breakage
