No problem with machine – I have this grinder for 4 years now. Grind my coffee twice a week each time enough to store it in a small container. I used the finest setting as I make Turkish type short black coffee every morning. This little gadjet is the most used of all the sunbeam products that I owned ( and I have a few different sunbeam appliances) If I have to replace later, I will still go for the same machine!

I am still using this grinder and it is still working wonderfully :)

The best sunbeam product I have ever had. Reliability, powder comes out really fine Can't think of anything

Useless for me – Purchased this from a Sunbeam rep and was assured it would work with any coffee machine. Not only does grind on demand not work but it won't grind fine enough for good machines. Thank God I purchased from a decent store who immediately refunded my money. I have a Vibiemme machine and the fringe is too course even at the fine settings Not suitable for anything but a cheap Sunbeam machine.

Yep these machines are rubbish ! Had problem right from day one. Switch didn't work so had to turn on from wall socket. Now the dose button doesn't work. Ground nicely for first month then doesn't grind fine enough even though you clean the burrs all the time. Don't buy one

Disappointing – Great looking machine but grind may not be fine enough for your machine. I have a Vibiemme Domobar Junior HX Espresso Machine and the OMO490 just wasn't capable of grinding fine enough to give a good shot. One good thing about Sunbeam is their replacement guarantee. I tried three grinders but unfortunately they all fell short. There is a quality control problem as well. Two of the grinders had faulty on-demand switches. Looks great. Programmable 1 and 2 cup settings is a great feature Doesn't grind fine enough.

I appreciate the response from Sunbeam. I did contact them about the problem & they suggested two options. Either they would send me some shims to adjust the grind or I could return the grinder to OHKI and get a replacement. I went for the second option and of course the new grinder was just as bad. From what I've read on this site about other Sunbeam Grinders the shims would probably have fixed the problem but surely it should work out of the box. I now have an Isomac Macinino grinder, not nearly as pretty, but it works.
