Sunbeam Ultura SR5500

Useless – Just bought this iron to repace an excellent Sunbeam I'd had for a few years. The old one started leaking during ironing, so I thought it was time to replace it. The new one leaks even more, from the first time I used it it has just kept on dripping. I've heard of built-in obsolesence, but this is ridiculous. A new iron with the same problem the old one only developed after years of use. When it's not dripping water all over your clothes it actually irons well. Constant leaking - the iro's temperature drops, it drips, it turns back on and gets back up to heat and then does it all over again, and again. It doesn't matter what setting it's on either, thrsame fault applies.

Good – Our aunty bought this for us after she used our iron we had previously (it never got hot enough) its easy to use, heats up quickly, my ironing takes not time at all to do, I found with my previous iron that i would spill the water everywhere when i was trying to fill it but this one seems to have a nice wide opending. Its worth spending the money on a good one that wont need repalacing i've already had mine over 2 years and its been great. Heats up quick,nice weight, easy to fill with water nothing so far

Good – This is a smooth and easy to use iron that produces plenty of steam for getting out wrinkles. It also has a fine water spray for the hard to iron out creases. This iron replaced an old one that we had and there is no comparison. This iron simply cut ironing times in half! Ironing has become so easy that its almost enjoyable. Lots of steam. Water spray is fine and shoots a good distance ahead. Heats up fast and responsive settings. Has a long cord. Easy to pour water into the reservoir. Nothing really, although the water reservoir could hold more water.

Bad – Was OK to iron with - good weight and heat control - had a previous Breville which we couldn't get hot enough. However it always seemed to leak a bit and blew up after a couple of years - literally - loud pop, smoke, smell. Just bought a Philips GC 3115 to give it a go. Nice weight, good heat control. Always seemed to leak a bit. Blew up after a couple of years.
