and could no longer cool the water to the point of turning on the green water ready indicator light. As I am an electronics engineer by profession she brought it home and asked me to take a look at it prior to potentially writing it off, she's well trained. It took me a while to figure out how to dismantle the machine as it has many hidden screws and some secret case catches to defeat. However on inspection after opening it I discovered the cooler is very well made, is well designed and is well worth repairing (very unusual in this day and age). The cause of the problem was worn out bearings to the peltier cooling module fan, which is probably only to be expected after 6 years continuous use. The fan is a standard 92mm x 92mm x 25mm 12vdc 130ma PC type. After purchasing one of these (MTBF 100,000 hr, low noise) fans from Jaycar for NZ$27 and soldering it in, the cooler is as good as new again.

This machine has many poor reveiws. I suspect the main reason for this is the use of poor quality (cheap) cooling fans that don't cut the mustard over time. This is a shame really because the basic cooler design, construction and function is excellent.

Update: 5 Sept 2015 - The cooler still going strong 2.5 years (22,000 hours) later. Operating in an environment where it is never ever turned off, even during the holidays. Well made Cheap components

Absolute rubbish quality. My 3rd and last – I've now gone through 3 of these water purifier systems in 2 years. Works well but you're lucky if it lasts a year. Rubbish quality in my opinion. I wont be buying another. Now to go hunting for another brand of Pl urifier tha time will ho problem efully outlast its warrrantee.

been instrumental in getting the whole family to drink more water and less soft drinks. The first unit we had stopped chilling the water after about 14 months. Yep! Just out of warranty. The next one, lasted much longer ... over 2 years but when it finally died, overnight it heated all the water in the unit!! Sunbeam have been very quick to look into the matter and their response was both prompt and positive.

Excellent – An excellent tool for the kitchen. If you can still find this product for sale, buy ten of them and then let me know!. We love our Sunbeam Water Filter Chiller. We no longer have to endure the bad chlorine taste in our tap water. After three years it no longer chills the water. I dont think this model is available anymore, but we still have two filter cartridges left!. At least it still works just filtering.

Excellent – If you need a water filter for summer to ensure your children drink enough water, this is the one! My 4 year old daughter is able to get herself a drink on her own, without leaving a tap on or needing to press a button to turn the water flow off. keeps water perfectly chilled! Two ways to get water running either, press button on the top that then needs to be pressed again to stop water flow or simply push your glass against larger button that then stops water flow as soon as glass is removed. None that I have found.

Terrible – Our first cooler stopped cooling after a couple of months. Wanted a warranted replacement and told stainless steel model was not being made anymore so we were given the white one. Sunbeam WF7500 water chiller - failed again! – This is my second Sunbeam water chiller. My first one stopped chilling just out of warranty, now the second one I (foolishly) bought has failed as well. Unbelievable. I have been loyal to Sunbeam products for many years. No longer! This unit is rubbish and that's where it's going! I am very disappointed. It chilled water for around 18 months The water chiller feature stopped working after 18 months. It uses a lot of power and is very noisy.

Works great – Havent had any problems in year or two of having it , chills water great, no spillage. Can just turn it off or on and water will come out chilled to room temp.

Doesn't deserve even half a star – Chiller never worked and the manual was less than helpful. Spent ages trying to get water cooled until we realised it was never going to work, It's in the rubbish bin where it belongs. Will never buy another Sunbeam product again. Load of rubbish in spite of its good looks.

Don't waste your money – This Sunbeam Chiller Failed after 2 years - no longer chilled water. As it was no longer under warranty I called Sunbeam and they said it was not repairable. They offer a discount to buy a new one but I asked what's the point if its just gonna happen again. The guy from Sunbeam just hung up the line - so I suppose they are designed to fail. Good while it lasts. Not reliable in chilling the water.

It's actually heating the water now! – This is our 4 th machine, all the previous ones stopped chilling and started making a lot of noise. All lastest until just after the warranty ran out. The warranty has just run out on our current machine and it has amazed us by actually heating the water! We found a chiller full if water this morning that was hot enough to take a bath in! Mine has died as well – I enjoyed my water cooler but for some months now the motor has made loud noises for a short time then behaved properly, now it has completely given up. staff at the call center must be equally pissed because the guy who took my call didn't sound pleasant. I wonder if the manufacturer expects the unit to last just 1 year. Very expensive buy, should this be the case. I heard one retailer mentioned they were not stocking any more of this brand because of this. Sunbeam does have a wide range of well priced appliances. They should do something about this chiller - maybe, not market it at all because of the negative publicity. And it is for REAL. I hope somebody from Sunbeam take note of this, please. Awful. . . . Think twice before you buy – I wished I had done a search before I purchased this product - I would never have wasted my money. We purchased our water chiller in December. It lasted a good 3 weeks then the chiller stopped working. We got our replacement for it to work 4 hours then the chiller no longer works. Am bringing it back to the store for a refund. So so disappointed. When it worked the water tasted very nice.

Disappointing – At first I loved this machine. But less than a year after we bought it, it died. I couldn't find anywhere to get it fixed, so bought a new one. A year later, it died too. Foolishly, we replaced it with the deluxe machine, thinking it might last a bit longer, but sadly not. Three machines, and none of them lasted longer than a year. Initially it did produce chilled water, quick flow. Short lifespan.

Terrible – I would not recommend anyone buy a Sunbeam brand of water cooler. Not only have I had 3 in 3 years my daughter has had 2. If may look good but the quality is very poor. became very noisy like it was dispensing water all the time. Fortunately the shop we bought it is only 10 minutes away and they are very accustomed to us walking in to change it. Can't understand why they keep stocking the chiller. Terrible – Poor. I would not buy it again. Like other Sunbeam products this is an attempt at high technologies (suitable for a German manufacturer) with execution in China and no QC. improved the motor, but it still does not last. Would never buy another Sunbeam product if this is their quality. When it works it is great, just doesn't work for long and you are back to the same old problem. Chiller stops chilling or motor gets really hot and starts to roar!

look for them and gave me a list of retailers who MIGHT have them. Cost me a fortune in phone calls.Take my advice, purchase another brand. There are more reliable and better filters on the market. We have had nice water using the superfine filter Filters are almost impossible to purchase, have to travel miles to get one (when they are available, which is not often) the superfine filter needs replacing every 4-5 weeks.... expensive! ordinary filter does nothing at all.

control or quality assurance from their manufacturers. Back in late forties & the early fifties we had the same problem with items made in Japan. However the major difference between now and then is no manufacturer who valued their reputation would put their name to a product made in Japan back then as, besides the other obvious reason. the stuff coming out of Japan was junk and you could buy quality products from England and even ones which were made in Oz! Now we hardly have any choice. Junk made in China or nothing. It looks as though we will have to go through another 10 years or more of junk from China before their quality improves as did Japan's. Cool filtered water or just filtered water if the weather is cooler/ Easy to fill and change the filter and does not have a large footprint on the bench. Poor quality. I have the stainless steel looking model which I received as a gift. I selected cooling for the water only occasionally but unit failed to cool at all after 14 months. I am still using it for filtered water but weather will warm up in a few months.

Terrible – Just returned our fourth unit. Same problem every time - chiller stops working. The first one lasted 12 months, this last one only made it to 5 months.
