My daughter bought me a $200 SurfStitch gift card. Shortly after, SurfStitch went into administration. While that was disappointing, what’s worse is that the company is now trading again but refuses to honour any existing gift cards or store credits — even ones still within their valid dates. They’re happy to take new customers’ money but won’t take responsibility for money already paid. The brand may be back, but don't trust it. Everything seems overpriced now anyways.
I wouldn’t recommend buying anything from SurfStitch, especially gift cards if they offer them.
As usual the small person pays while legal crooks get paid.
Bad smell clothing – Bought some Quicksilver clothing all were made in India and all had bad chemical smells Washed them 4 times but the bad smell never went away

size and they look hideous, absolutely no shape in them at all even when I went down two sizes, just look like they’ve been worn for years by someone else and stretched!
Got another order today, boyfriend tees and they are the same, definitely not a relaxed look. I’d go for a found in the op shop bin look and just plain daggy. Also a dress which is so starchy, I thought I’d ordered a black bin bag at first!
I just want a comfortable tee that I would always get from Surfstitch that I could wear out but they’re awful!

Faulty product: Terrible customer service – Have had the most terrible customer service from this business. Bought a Rip Curl surfers tidal watch through them. droplets inside the watch and being well within warranty. They have now had the watch for almost 2 months and are not responding to any emails for an update. Have called their customer service number and keep getting disconnected. This should have been a 'hassle free' faulty product exchange. At this point not sure how to get our money back. Ripcurl would surely not be wanting this sort of customer service associated with their products.

Trying to return products for a full refund – I have so far been trying to return 2x items to surfstitch however when you find their quite deeply buried return page you get to a page stating return page broken, I then found a customer service phone number which upon calling states neither it or its voicemail service will be answer or in turn listened and responded to. This appears to be very very shady behaviour in my opinion. I recommend everyone be very careful using surfstitch. Show details
Terrible service – Ordered some fcs fins & screws for my board. Received a packet of jelly beans & a set of fins…. Sent them email. They say they checked the footage and it was in there. Go to your local surf shop and support small business. The stress of ‘trying’ to deal with this people and receiving items that have been paid for was not worth it.

No way of contacting them when something goes wrong – Fine as long as nothing goes wrong. If something goes wrong, as it has with my most recent order, don’t expect any customer service whatsoever. They just don’t reply to messages and queries, and there’s no way of contacting them.
Worst customer service ever – The worst customer service I’ve ever experienced! It’s almost impossible to talk a human, I have been trying to talk with someone for a week now, no answers. Placed an order, not even a confirmation email I have received. Tried a few times to talk to someone only this AI chat. Worst company, I will never buy again.

Product didn't turn up. I have paid for it. Total SCAM – I ordered a product in their Black Friday sale. Three weeks later it still hasn't turned up. It's a Christmas gift so I want to know one way or another if it will arrive or not. I phoned them many times, can't ever get through. I emailed lots of times, I just get ignored. Sells factory seconds of name brands – Factory seconds. A range of good brands items I got over the years, most had product issues. Such as Roxy boots missing the inner part of the shoes so when you stood on them, you couldn’t walk on them. TNF jacket with feathers coming out all the time. A Billabong jumper that was horrible after washing. To small swimmers for child. The list goes on and on. They are a store for selling products that weren’t good enough for the supplier to sell off.

an email from their “customer service” team, with all sorts of excuses including (and I quote) “This can be caused by inventory levels updating during your checkout, or lost/misplaced stock.” I’m not sure if I should be more worried that I was able to check out at all if the stock wasn’t there, or the fact they so regularly lose/misplace stock that it’s included in their copy & paste emails!
They get one star for refunding me via PayPal very quickly, but I’d much rather have had my 1/2 price jeans which I’d been searching for for ages! I thought it was too good to be true, and it was :( Wouldn’t trust them to deliver anything based on this interaction!

returned all BF long on other sites with no issues from auspost.
Ended up escalating it through Afterpay which I think pressured them enough that 2 days later the refund was issued. Luckily I payed with Afterpay otherwise I would’ve lost my money.
My advice, don’t shop online using your actual cards, use paypal or afterpay. More likely to receive help if something goes wrong.
(Btw the item I kept was a kids quicksilver rash vest after the first wear the thread has already come undone in a few places, have never had this even happen with Kmart swimwear very strange)

Surfstitch is terrible – They don’t answer their phone, takes them weeks to answer emails. They don’t even read or comprehend the emails. Boarderline scam. They still owe me money. Extremely difficult and beyond disappointing.
Used to be OK – Surfstitch has really gone down hill in the last few years. Customer Service does not exist. Dirty marks on tshirts – I ordered 3x tshirts as christmas gifts for the men in my family. 2 out of 3 came with grubby marks on the front. I wouldn't particularly care if it was for me as should be able to wash out but I can't wash before I give them as gifts! Disappointing. Show details

Incompetence at its finest – Incomplete order and they refuse to do anything. I received only 1 of the 2 items I ordered and they basically said “we packed it, too bad”. They won’t look into it, won’t contact courier, won’t do anything. Waited months for a response for CS as well. Incompetence at its finest. Best not to shop here.
