What an iron – Bought this iron in 2012/2013 not sure exactly, but I have never looked back. I used to buy an iron every year, sometimes more, as I iron a lot. Wow steam, that's what I want, it cuts through the toughest jeans and fabric much more than your conventional iron. It is expensive, or so I thought, but when you add up how many irons I would have had… Read more

over this time, it is very reasonable. It is still going strong today as it was the first day I used it. A small drawback is that if you use it for extended periods of time, the ironing board does get a bit wet, as you are getting continual steam, that's if you want it, as I do. If the board gets wet I just take a well earned break, and get back to it when it's dry. Yep, time for a cuppa. I used to iron both sides of the clothing, but now I only need to iron one side, as the steam is strong enough to penetrate both sides at once. If you decide to buy one of these irons I am sure you won't be disappointed. My unit has been discontinued, so I hope if I ever need a new one it's just as good as the one I bought. Of course, it will be Tefal.

I loved it until IT STOPPED WORKING :( – At a cost of $300 I really did expect that this iron would last more than 23 months. With a warranty of only 12 months I can't even send it back for repair. Not happy at all. Complete waste of money. Although I loved the actual iron when it worked, I will NOT buy another Tefal again. Too much of a risk.  Show details

A $100 iron can do the same why spend $300 plus – The rating is based on the performance vs money spend. Been using it for 3 years plus, minimal use. The steam is good and powerful. However, even in the maximum setting there is not enough heat for cottons compared to other irons (much cheaper) I had in the past. No use of steam if there is not enough heat.

4 Years Old & Still Going Strong! – This is our second Tefal Pro Express Turbo Anti Calc and after 4 years it still runs like new. It has been used for 3-5 hours every week and the only maintenance required is to remove & wash the little Anti-Calc Rod in the side and then just screw it back in place. A light will come on when you are required to do this. IMPORTANT: I only use… Read more

DEMINERALISED WATER which we purchase from Big W or Petrol Service Stations. Despite what the Tefal instruction book tells you, our first model only lasted 13 months on tap water and then it started leaking from the soleplate and finally couldn't be repaired. Buying Demineralised Water is a small price to pay as the equivalent Laura Star steam stations require you to purchase Aqua Filters that cost $90 for a 3 pack - this is why I believe the Tefal to be the best & cheapest option, but only if you love it enough to give it water without all the minerals and impurities that come with tap water. Generally the iron itself is light and glides over the ironing easily without sticking - it has a button on top that gives you an extra boost of steam when required and generally the settings are very easy to use and adapt to whatever fabric you are ironing. It irons everything easier, faster and with less physical strain than a normal iron. One last tip - purchase a heat-proof mat from Laura Star so you can rest your iron facedown on the board and it prevents all those burns from the iron sitting on its heel and also minimises the strain on your wrist, arm and shoulder as you aren't continually having to pick up the iron and point it downwards - it's already facedown the whole ironing session sitting on the heatproof mat. I also have a proper steam station ironing board with the metal tray at the end and the steam station sits on that nicely. Good luck with your transition to a steam station as you will never want to use a conventional iron ever again once you spoil yourself with one of these new age ironing systems.

fantastic steam – I've just replaced my Phillips steam iron which only last 2 years and cost me $299. This little pocket rocket was $179 and way better than my previous one. The steam is fabulous, it has cut my ironing by half. Its light, easy to manuveour . Not sure how long it will last. I don't think anything last these days but I'm hopeful. I would highly recommend and I believe it's good value.  Show 2 replies

Only lasted 2 years. Just out of warranty – Ironed beautifully for the first 12 months. Then had problems with water dribbling form holes in irons base plate. When just outside of warranty it stopped producing steam and kept flicking onto refill. Would buy another steam station but not Tefal.

Awesome – I haven't had it long so can't comment on longevity but this makes ironing as good as the shocking chore gets. Quick! Lots of steam. One pass with the iron and it's flat. That's it. Makes ironing a garment about 3x faster than the rubbish cheapy I had earlier and the time saved alone is worth the money. Never sticks either. Quick and easy to iron Expensive, but worth it

Ironed great but not durable – I bought this iron 30 months ago. It irons beautifully. In that regard it can't be faulted. It makes ironing easier and faster. There is just no comparison with a conventional iron, no matter how expensive. My wife uses the Tefal daily for regular ironing and other work such as quilting and dressmaking. It just stopped working. The soleplate… Read more

doesn't heat and the lights on the iron itself don't come on. In discussions with a repair agent I was advised it was likely the element. The repairman did say this was unusual as this brand usually proves reliable. The element and soleplate would have to be replaced at a cost of around $180 and would take three weeks.

It has now been binned and replaced by a different brand of steam station iron. In fairness most people have a great experience with Tefal steam station irons. I didn't. Put it down to bad luck or perhaps it's only suitable for people who do a bit of light ironing three days a week. It's unlikely I will buy Tefal again. Irons beautifully and fast Didn't last - not a quality product

Excellent machine. Best iron I have ever used – Absolutely awesome press and iron. I like the way you can refill it while turned on. Never runs out of steam. Temperature control seems good. The non stick base is really not non stick though. If you iron nylon it will melt and stick. Dah. If you use the iron properly though, it is awesome and easy to use. Quick warm up time, auto clean, plenty of steam Needs resetting a lot if left on.

I would never buy a tefal iron again – For the price I paid I expected it to last for longer than 4 yrs. The base of the iron corroded. I only use the iron twice a month - I don't have that much ironing to do. So much for it being non stick. Accordingly to the company the base may be damaged if there is detergent residue on your garment and all sorts of other excuses. Unacceptable!

Tefal Express Anti calc – Was great for 2 years then 1 moth after the warranty ran out it broke ! constant steam flow Very expensive for just 2 year life - Wrote to Tefal to see what they would do about it as it was $500 and i think 2 year life span is poor - usual response of "we've passed on to our consumer department" - heard nothing since then- need to buy another iron but would never buy a Tefal again. Broke just as warranty ran out

A must have – Ideal for those who find ironing a chore... and who doesn't! Really its all been said in the other 5 star reviews, Tefal have made an exceptional product in this iron. Don't hesitate just get one if you can afford it, I know its a big outlay for many people for an iron but this thing really performs and is worth the money, got ours on sale… Read more

which softened the blow. No more spray starch over spray on the wooden floors to slip feet over head waiting 2 mins for it to heat up LOL... get over it.

I Iron For a Living – This is a great iron. Gets through ALL the wrinkles, first glide. They are pricey. But the best. It's also lighter than your conventional iron, so your arm doesn't get so sore. The steam heated up in a couple of minutes. Very easy to pour in and there was a lock, for the iron cradle so I know it's not going to fall off, onto the kids. The result on the fine wrinkles. price

Long lasting performance – I've had the Tefal iron for over 7 years! Saves me time and haven't needed to use any Fabulon on shirts anymore. It's so good that both my mum and sister in law have bought one too. Good water station and turbo boost for steam. Highly recommended to anyone who hates ironing. Quick, effective, 7 years strong The cord gets stuck in the unit.

That's not an iron...this is an iron – I'm thrilled with my Tefal steam station. This product is so easy to use and cuts my ironing time down by half, which is fantastic because I truely hate ironing! Although it was more expensive than a regular iron, the benefit for me has far outweighed the cost. If you get the chance head down to The Good Guys and buy one, you certainly wont regret it. Your only regret will be that you didn't get one sooner.

LUV IT – Talk about a great steam Iron, this is our second one and will continue to buy the Tefal Steam stations as its just as good as a Laura Star and give it a 10/10. It makes ironing a pleasure and does what it’s suppose to do, lots of steam and irons well. My husband and I Luv it, yep my husband irons too. reliable and worth spending the dollars for it

makes ironing easy – My wife and I love this iron, paid $384 and it is made in france and you can see the quality, you really need to buy the matching ironing board which has the holder for the iron on it $89 bought both from the good guys apparantly there are some copies of this iron on ebay etc. A lot of money for an iron but the time saving and ease of use are worth it, we both hate ironing but this makes it a lot easier! time saving bulky

Love it – I love this iron. I was scared by the high price tag, but Tefal were offering a 90 Day money back guarantee, so I thought there was no better time to try it. The iron itself is lightweight and ergonomic to use and the steam button is positioned well, making ironing easy. The whole unit is well thought out with a removable water tank, easy to… Read more

remove anti calc and a reasonable lengthen power cord. The cover fastens back over the whole unit and can be used when the iron is hot, which is an excellent safety feature if there are small children in the house. The water tank is very generous and I've never had to refill it even when I've had 3 baskets worth to iron.

My ironing has been significantly reduced. The steam is so powerful, that I now only iron most things on one side and that's using the 'Eco' mode not full strength.

I'm now selling my Elna press and I secretly look forward to ironing!! Everything

Tefal Steam Iron- makes ironing less of a chore – Makes ironing easier, very lightweight so you don't have to press hard to get a nice crisp result. Ergonomically comfortable to use, water tank is very easy to remove and fill up. Iron locks in, so it can't be knocked over or off the board. I would recommend buying the Tefal Ironing Board as well to easily sit the steam station on. The heat up is… Read more

more rapid than I expected and the Auto Shut Off is a Must. Check before you purchase a steam iron that it has an Auto Shut Off feature as not all of them do. Easy to use, light, comfortable, nice quality. Not as heavy as I thought it would be either. I have only had mine for a few weeks and occasionally it drips water, but not for my hubby. We figured out that sometimes I don't press the steam button for a while. So now it seems to be fine.

Makes ironing less like hard work! – With two children and a husband in drill cotton uniforms this iron makes my life so much easier - actually my guilty secret would be that I enjoy ironing now ... bit don't tell anyone - lol! It's bulky when filled with water and you want to make sure you don't store it on a top cupboard shelf as getting it down if it is full of water can be a… Read more

pain. But I do a weeks worth of ironing (2 large baskets) in a couple of hours and the steam function means that everything only really needs a once over and usually only on one side, even heavy denim. Easy to use, quick to heat and overall very safe

Don't hesitate - well worth the money! – Hubby and I both love this iron. It replaced our old steam station iron (another brand) and this Tefal is far better. Its big reservoir is easy to fill at the sink or the unit itself, the iron is comfortable to use, glides easily, lots of steam, boost /steam shot button is conveniently placed, the iron sits steadily on its heel between items,… Read more

the steam cord tucks neatly away for storage, the power cord retracts into the base, and the iron locks onto the base for moving. It's one of the best designed and useable appliances we have! We were advised not to run it at full blast on the heat or the steam setting as doing so could shorten the iron's life ( which makes sense really, you probably wouldn't use any other appliance constantly at it's max) but even on the 2/3 or 3/4 settings we use, it still is easily powerful enough to make ironing way easier. Ironing is far quicker, takes less effort, and is a far more pleasant 'chore' with this iron. (Hubby and I fight over the ironing now as 'he who irons gets the tele to themselves' ) My Mum and sister used it recently and both were very quickly convinced that it was worth every cent! I've seen these advertised at about $300 from Seconds World, so it might be a run-out model now and it's a real bargain at that price. If you're considering this iron, go for it, you won't be sorry. Makes ironing a breeze, saves time and effort, well designed, practical. It not for quick touch ups - best for doing a big pile in front of the tele.

Excellent – We've had this for a short while now and the ironing is a lot quicker, especially with jeans. The steam is such a powerful burst that the jeans can be ironed on just one side. The iron can locked into place, and the hose can be tucked, and there is an auto shut off so we can leave it and not worry about whether the iron is on or off. I… Read more

accidentaly ironed over a print on my t-shirt and it stuck to the base of the iron, but it wiped straight off with a moist cloth. Big water tank, auto shut off for safety, Easy to carry around and very powerful steam burst, retractable power cord. Nothing at this stage...

Makes Ironing such a pleasure!! – Well, my Mum purchased this iron a couple of months ago and I borrowed it. My goodness! I completed my ironing in half the time. The design is practical and attractive. It has a lock mechanism to keep the iron in place so I feel safe when I move it around. I bought one last week and I love it. Only tiny flaw is that when packing it up there… Read more

you need to somehow gather the plug together and stow it somewhere on the body (there is space at the base but always a tight fit and worried I will damage the cord). The water reservoir is easy to fill and the steam button is located in a great spot under the handgrip - anyone want their iring done? Excellent - thanks Tefal! Efficient, doesn't stick to clothes, glides easily and steam is generated in no time for those heavy creases. Nothing really wrong, I just wish the cord could be tucked away neater when I pack the iron up

A job I hate, made easier – I hate ironing and try to avoid it as much as possible. The Tefal system makes the job bearable and quicker. The iron is light. The removable water tank is a great idea as you do not have to shut down to refill, like you have to do in some other brands. I can't say I love it but I wouldn't want to be without it now. Ease of use, reliable A bit bulky for storage
