Go somewhere else – Just as well they're closing. Still waiting for them to return the excess from a not at fault claim that I made over 2 months ago. Despite my providing all the details of the other party, they insisted on taking the excess. On speaking to the other party's insurer, Buzz have sent the wrong paperwork to them, delaying the process even further. When… Read more

I've contacted Buzz about this, they have denied any fault on their part. And still won't return my excess amount.

Also, when sorting out the hire car while mine was being repaired, I provided them with the correct dates required, but they booked the incorrect dates, leading to yet more hassle at the car rental place. Contactable over the internet. Incorrectly taking the excess amount. Then not refunding it.

Bad company – They will gladly accept your premium, but come time to payout a claim, they will find all kinds of excuses not to pay the claim. When I made the claim, I was given the ring around. They are very good at passing the buck, with one department passing it to the other.

Potential Custom – I recently called and applied for Buzz insurance and was left on hold for an extend period of time and subsequently hung up, with the intention of calling back then time slipped away and i ended up going with my past GIO insurance provider as this seemed like the easier option. access time waiting

Great – I had an accident that was totally my fault. They kept in touch with emails. Within three weeks I have the payout and I'm shopping for a new car. Can't complain about anything they have done. Shame they are closing! Now I have to go and find a new company. reasonably prompt service

2 Kangaroos, an old granny and finally a head on collision - All good! – I made 3 claims within 12 months after a string of bad luck. Two Kangaroos committed suicide by jumping in front of me and wiping out my Roo bar and bonnet - all coverted without any issues. Then an old granny rear ended me while my car was parked on side of road - no problems - all covered. Finally, a ranger in the NT hit me head on on a blind… Read more

curve - again - no worries - full payout within 21 days for full declared value. I think I may be partly responsible for them going out of business - hahaha! I loved them as all my claims was done over the internet and via email. Perfect. They actually paid out! A bit slow in returning emails.

Awful company! – I'm glad companies like this go out of business. Pathetic customer service, dishonest treatment of customers. I was not at fault in an accident yet I still had to pay excess (mind you it took them 8 weeks to actually respond to me). Absolutely hopeless. Buzz must be the worst company. It is a good thing that they have gone out of business!!!!… Read more

Frankly I'm not surprised. They charged me: excess (though I was not at fault), extra premium for an "undisclosed" accident (where I was not at fault - the website didn't even indicate this was a requirement!!!), then tried it on with a "driver history" excess... Which isn't even detailed in their PDS! Terrible company.

Hopeless customer service, Extremely unhelpful, Dishonest, Poor comunication

Complete Joke of an Insurance Company – I had a car accident to which I was not at fault, I reported it and submitted all documentation within 2 days. I then spent 6 weeks following them up to which they kept telling me they were awaiting the other parties reports. 10 weeks after the accident I follow them up again, only to be find that they had decided I was at fault more than 2 weeks… Read more

Online consultants don't answer any questions and are very unhelpful

Lack of communication is appalling!

Did not fight on my behalf at all - doubt that my file had even been read properly as I was continuously asked questions which were answered in my report.

Lazy and needs to constantly be followed up.

Very unhelpful, unknowledgeable and rude.

I will be changing insurance companies ASAP as the Buzz is a complete joke. I would rate 0/5 if possible!

poor customer service, no communication, lazy, rude, unhelpful

What a joke of a company – I was not a fault in an accident. When it was time to pick up my car from the smash repairs, I was told to pay the excess. The buzz refused to help, even though all the details were provided in the online form and via email. I have paid the excess because I needed the car and now no one at the buzz wants to reimburse me. What a joke! The lack of professionalism

The world's most horrible insurance company – Avoid at all cost if you value your car and time. I had an accident in my Nissan 200SX (ADM) Spec R. After keeping me hanging on for about a month finally found a reason to deny my claim by saying my car has an aftermarket audio system and rims. These where listed on my policy when i bought the insurance and I have reported them to the… Read more

Financial Ombudsman. What is surprising is this that the accident was not my fault, someone rear ended my car and that person was insured and had provided The Buzz (Rip Off) insurance with all the details.

Why did Buzz Insurance close?? – Does anyone know why they are closing down? I am having a battle with them too, they are trying to deny my policy as I made a typo when applying online and after refusing to help me with the application process.. Buzz Insurance - a lemon – I am having an ongoing battle with Buzz on a lost item under my policy - sparing the details I think its about specific wording but they will not actually tell me. If you have any not at fault claims you pay more – Recenly I was rear ended by another car. Buz insurance came back to me and said that I had not disclosed a claim that I had over year earlier. I said that It was a not at fault claim that went through the other insurer so I overlooked it. They said I have to pay an additional premium as they take all claims into account when processing a policy.… Read more

They said that this is the extra amount that I would have paid if I had disclosed the other claim. So in summary, regardless if you are at fault or not-at fault, they will take this into account and increase your premium. Fair??? I dont think so. I am taking this perculiarity up with the FOS as I cant believe that a victim should be punnished twice. They are happy to take your money but as soon as it requires anything from them they become difficult. Also did I mention that this is all over $50? So instead of waiving this they were prepared to take me to the canvas, upset me, (will never insure through them again) and risk the FOS investigating this...over $50. If they loose at leat one customer over this review, this would have been a costly excercise for them, and they have definitly lost my next year $600 premium in the process. I cannot believe that they dont have the common sense to write this off and take the hit on the $50? Amazing what passes for good customer service these days.

I have kept a record of the chat with them and am sending it to the FOS. They are extremely rude and cocky on the chatter, which I am sure will not work them any favours.

The failure to disclose has not prejudiced the insurer in any way - it doesn't even indirectly alert the insurer to any sort of bad driving record, which may affect their decision to insure, because having not been at fault for the acident, the damage is not related to the insured party's bad driving.

Therefore I can only conclude that spiking the the premium is not only unfair, its unethical. They are cheap. No customer service.

Sad to see the end – I've had absolutely no problems with The Buzz. Thank you for a professional, reliable insurance agency. I found the website easy to navigate, information available and my policy suited my lifestyle. Communication was not overbearing. I think we should all be picky when it comes to car insurance as when it all goes wrong, that's when we rely on it! They say what they state Not exposed enough

255 characters to report incident? – Upon using the "Live Chat" feature with the Buzz to address a few queries, I was informed/advised to select an incorrect option from the drop down menu as they did not provide one which appropriately described my the incident I was making a claim on. by the case adviser in doing this that I would liable and have to pay an excess(despite being cleared of any wrongdoing in a police report). The "customer service representative" that I was dealing with asked me questions over and over that I had already answered and clearly was not reading the conversation. In addition to this, you are allocated the grant total of 255 characters to describe (in detail, supposedly) the incident that you are making a claim on.

Avoid this company at all costs.

Poor communication and sloppy legal "advice".

Absolute joke of an insurance company! Don't Bother!!!! Absolute Crooks! – I have 2 cars insured with Buzz insurance. We have had 5 years of no accidents and no issues until earlier this year. My husbands car was rear ended by a 'lady' on the freeway. He got all her details including license number, rego, name, phone number, insurer etc. Turns out all her details were correct except for her address. We were told 1 day… Read more

before picking up our car from the panel beaters that we needed to pay $1000 CASH (no eft or creditcard) or we wouldnt be able to get the car as they hadn't yet verified her address. We were told we would be reimbursed the $1000 once they verified her address. That was Jan 24 2012 and we are still waiting to be reimbursed.

Trying to speak to someone and get information is like pulling teeth. The chat function is slow and they dont actually respond to what you are writing and when you do get to 'speak' to someone (via chat) they tell you a different thing - like we need a police report.Don't waste your time. At least with other insurers you get to speak to a real person.

Don't bother...they are crooks!

Twice in 2 years and excellent! – I have had 2 accidents in the last 20 years and both were in the last 2 years and both claims with Buzz. I chose repairer of choice(Mercedes Dealer) and only needed the one quote. They sent out an assessor at my convenient location and time. Easy and delightful! OK – I'm not sure where all the previous reviewers had their cars insured before changing to The Buzz, but I can't see why they think it's cheap. The quote based on the details I entered was more than RACWA, QBE and even Allianz, who is normally the most expensive. One of the most confusing elements was when I added a 29 year old driver with a perfect… Read more

OK – The price quoted was certainly cheaper than the competition, but I do worry that should I be unfortunate enough to have an accident, because they build in to the price automatic Rating 1 NCD for all customers which they see as fair, should you have an accident, naturally, the price goes up. With other insurers however, you have the option to… Read more

protect your 60% NCD, therefore in the event of having a claim, when it comes to renewal time, you can still submit that although you may have had an accident (either fault or non-fault), you should still be able to claim the maximum 60% NCD. I'm sure though that regardless of whether you still have your Rating 1 NCD, your premium will still be higher because you have claimed, but not AS high, because you still have your 60% NCD. Does that make sense...? Excellent online quoting system, very simple and easy to use, quick, without the need to answer 101 questions. They base their initial quote assuming everyone has Rating 1 NCD, then ask about driving history. So as they don't actually operate a NCD structure, although I've had no accidents at all (touch wood), you therefore then don't have the option to protect any NCD that you do have. Although only a minor quibble, the live chat person I chatted to, although very friendly, admitted in not understanding how the no claims discount system works, which is a little worrying considering you would think they would be well rounded in all things car insurance!

A little skeptical at first ... however – When I first decided to go with the buzz I was a little hesitant doing it all over the internet and not actually speaking with someone. I have unfortunately since had an accident (a kangaroo hit me) and whilst waiting a little too long online to advise the buzz, I eventually got someone and all repairs have been made with no problems what so ever. Affordable, easy. Waited an hour online to advise the buzz of my accident.

Excellent – The BEST low cost car insurer you can find. I can literally write an essay on why everyone should go with Buzz. 1. Buzz has the most competitive price. i.e. Cheapest in the market! 2. Excellent – Great co. to deal with and recommend people at least have a look for themselves before making a decision on insurance. Excellent – For a male who is under 30 years of age and drives a sports car that attains a high premium (or no coverage) with competitors - I am very very pleased with the quote and coverage that Buzz has offered me. satisfaction (something which many insurers lack!).

Highly recommended! Buzz has an excellent quoting interface which is simple and quick to use. By being able to change your excess amounts (from $600 to $2000) and also the agreed value of your car - you can instantly observe the quote change. This is a very nifty feature and helps save you time in acquiring a competitive quote (quote completed in minutes without too much questions and screens).

Also the ability to choose your own repairer is a big bonus and they are underwritten by IAG. Furthermore you can choose to pay by year, monthly or fortnightly which is nice!

24/7 online support is very innovative considering there will always be someone to give you a piece of mind for support (unlike many other insurers who shut shop on weekends or after hours). Until I make a claim (knock on wood will not need to) I cannot say there is any cons yet.
