The Tasty Toob is no more – Grew up on them. We are talking my favourite chip here! These things are not anything like the originals. Sweet and yuck! A Toob should not contain any sweetness at all. They are meant to be saucy and salty. Whose bright idea was it to make them sweet?! Gross. And the texture is weak. A Toob is strong and crunchy. Sadly, the Toob is no more… Show details
Rubbish – Taste nothing like the originals then I saw PepsiCo on the back of the packet just big companies ruining products for the sake of $$$ did the same to a similar NZ product rashuns nothing at all like the original product Show details
Inconsistent, recipe keeps changing – I used to love these. First they were made in Poland, light and fluffy, did not like these. Rubbish. Then they were made in Australia. Large, harder, crunchy, flavourful, cut-your-mouth bliss. Loved these!! They were what I remember from childhood! The they changed again. Small, even harder, burnt tasting, inconsistent flavour. Horrible. Not even… Read more
worthy of sale. Now they are all fluffy and melty. Don't like once again! Why are the nice ones gone? And if there are so many people that like the fluffy ones, why aren't they selling Toobs Light and Toobs Original? I desperately wish for the nice ones again.

The texture is not consistent with each bag – Every time I go to buy them I need to do a crush check to make sure they are the thicker ones. When there airey they don't have the crunch I want, I don't know what it's is if it's the machine or the ingredients but someone needs to fix this. Show details
Toobs - Disgusting! – Totally different product, not even close to the original. No flavour, hard & puffy. Fed them to the dog. Completely ruined a great product. Why call them "Tasty" ?? Revolting flavourless garbage. Show details
Sadly disappointed – Nothing about this product resembles the original tasty snack in any way except the packaging. Like putting racing stripes on a beat up old taxi and attempting to win Bathurst. Show details

Crisis averted, the bland update was reversed! – Edit: They seem to have reverted this disastrous change so I will update my star rating to reflect it. Old review: If you open your packet and you find the Toobs are now puffy, you're in for disappointment. I don't know why they had to change things up, they were amaaaaazing before but now they're flavourless. The change to making them puffy… Read more
doesn't bother me but taste-wise, they're just so bland now.
RIP Tasty Toobs. I'll stick to Burger Rings.
Guess what I have found? – As a random thing the other day I glanced at the Toobs in the store for hope they may have been made in Poland. To my surprise, they were! I bought two packs to try them and yes, THEY ARE BACK. Full of flavour and not hard as a rock (almost melt in your mouth). I wonder if poor sales figures forced Smiths to change back and ditch the Aussie made ones. If this keeps up I'll certainly be buying more......and more.
Inconsistent – The ones ‘made in Poland’ are more airy and flavoursome The ones ‘made in Australia’ are crunchy with not much flavour I prefer the ones ‘made in Poland’ .. my mate prefers ‘made in Australia’ I suggest you buy one of each and choose a team :)
Negative reviews
Different and not as enjoyable – These are different to the original. Original Toobs were larger, fuller, thicker, crunchier, lighter in colour and had a distinct tangy, tomato flavour. The new ones are much smaller, have a thinner sidewall of the tube, darker in colour from the seasoning, which gives the perception there would be flavour, but to no avail. I still enjoyed them,… Read more
but the whole time I was thinking, either my taste buds have severely diminished since I was a child, or they've changed the recipe.... I came on here and discovered.. they've changed the recipe.
Not very tasty toobs – I loved toobs when i was kid so delighted when saw them back, So disappointed when got hm and tasted them, only slight taste and tang of the original, half the size and the thickness was a joke more air than chip. Dont bother with the new version Sometimes its better to remember the good ones. Show details
Complete Rubbish – I've noticed a remarkable difference in the original toobs to whatever they are selling now. Tasteless and about half the size. Title says it all.

Why does it taste so different? Where is the tang? – Seems to be very watered down in terms of flavour & not at all the same as I used to love & remember. The "Toob" itself is roughly the same but flavour profile is very different, unfortunately. Can't find the tang. Very disappointed Show details
I feel scammed – This is so far from what Toobs used to be, that it shouldn't be allowed to have the same name. Nubs would be a more appropriate name, since they are tiny puffy hard flavourless nubs, they don't even have the tang of toobs.
They have wrecked Toobs – I just bought some Toobs this week. They were thinner and sweet and horrible. I wrote to Smiths and their response is that they are now made in Australia. No offer of a refund or anything. Why would you ruin a great recipe?
Not good – I agree with all these recent comments, I loved toobs, but they have changed, flavourless, burnt little rings. I bought a second pack hoping it was a one off, but no, they are rubbish. Show details
Something has changed with Toobs!! – I buy toobs every week with my grocery shopping but it looks like something has changed. They were smaller in size, hard as it was overcooked and the flavour was not the same. Not buying this again very disappointed. Show details
New Toobs are crap – The texture, flavour and sizing is completely different. Will no be buying again. Was so happy when they returned and i served the bar with empty bowls every time. New Toobs showed fulled bowls at the end of night. This will hurt the profit margin going forward as more people realise this new product is crap. Regards Macca Show details
Bad rating only applies to Australian made toobs – The Australian made toobs are small, hard and tastless. Toobs were my favourite but if I accidentally buy the toobs made here, they go in the bin. Please keep toobs the way they were, the Australian ones don't just have a "slight" difference, it's major. Show details
The bin is where these belong now! – I recently purchased several packs of Toobs from two different retailers only to find that the quality of the product has diminished so badly that the remaining packets have be tossed in the bin. The new ones are small, over cooked and flavourless in comparison to how they have been in the past. Looks like Toobs will die another death here in Australia as I for one won't be purchasing any more of this tasteless rubbish. Show details
Toobs thick and gross – Toobs use to be thin and bursting with flavour as they melt in the mouth.. I buy a packet every week And to my disgust they are becoming rock hard and flavourless with each packet I buy Please make them better Show details

Poor Substitute – The new Aussie made version is poor in comparison to the original. Its too tight, small and yes texture is different but so is the taste. The taste varies from pack to pack and I can see the Aussie made version being responsible for once again removing this tasty chip from the shelves. Leave the bigger, softer fluffier Toobs alone. Keep the tight, hard, over cooked Aussie version in the factory Show details
Horrible and hard, who killed the Toobs? – Toobs were so moorish, could not get enough! Now they are small, hard and the texture has lost its melt in the mouth enjoyment! Please fix this massive fumble, no longer enjoying this classic!
Tasty Toobs Terrible Customer Service – We tried to call the customer service number to ask about the health rating but the lady on the other end was so rude she hung up straight away?? We called back and she told us she had reported our number to the police!! This was before we even had a chance to ask our express our concerns. Quite frankly this is such appalling behaviour ! baffled by her response. I believe her name was Kara or Cara and honestly I can never buy Tasty Toobs again. Its back to Cheezels for me.
Toobs – I've being eating these since the 80's. Well not anymore that is. Absolutely terrible they don't even taste like the original Toobs. Once again a great product has been ruined. Australia must be at the top of the list for reinventing the wheel. Show details
Why change something that works – I’ve been eating Toobs ever since they first came out but now they taste terrible. I immediately noticed the difference and they are crap. Why mess with a perfect product!!! Show details
What have you done – We buy these weekly but this week omg what happened they are like thick and crunchy no longer melt in your mouth they are flavour less almost powdery just horrible please what ever you did change it back we won't be buying while they are like this all the kids hated them
Toobs not good anymore, what happened? – I've been buying it regularly since they came back on the shelves in 2022, loved them and wouldn't mind a bit more seasoning. Today I purchased a some from Safeway and was so disappointed! Texture is different, more thicker chunky and smaller, tough to bite through, what the hell did you guys do because it used to just melt in your mouth! Now I… Read more
can hardly taste the seasoning and experiencing more of an after taste of the bland wheat flour! Man, what did you guys do?! The product was fine as it was, why change it? I can't even finish this package when usually they're so addictive I would finish in one sitting! That's it for me, I'm out and won't even consider toobs again. I'm disgusted from you being disgusting!
They've changed for the worse – I remember them being bigger and more airy when you bite into them. Now they are smaller, irregular sized and harder to bite into. Show details
