Excellent – Cannot get refund. Toshiba laugh in my face. They could not repair it.nor refund.matter reported.customer service forget it. it is rubbish it is rubbish

top cover off, and removed the power supply (six screws, two plugs). There are a couple of areas on the board that have darkened due to heat. This is normal. I resoldered the connections in those areas, and also the large capacitor (black and silver cylinder) who's job it is to smooth the voltage. I put everything back, and it's worked faultlessly ever since.

The problem seems to be that this unit is assembled with LEAD-FREE SOLDER. It's environmentally friendly, but has been known to be unreliable.

It can be touched up with normal solder, but you need higher temperatures than with traditional tin/lead solder.

May be worth a try if you know someone with a good soldering iron. Excellent picture; appears immune to interference from noisy light switches or the spark igniter on the gas stove; the VGA output has been handy too. Had to fix it first!

Terrible – After using it for 1 year, it started stopping to function and TV pictures were freezing and disappearing. It stopped once-twice every month, and then became more frequent. not be Toshiba. In fact, I will never buy anything from Toshiba. Having learned there are many people who experienced the same, I feel they should not have sold this kind of troublesome machine, in fact it should have been recalled.

Everything - expensive yet doesn't do its job

Terrible – This was a very expensive unit yet doesn't actually stay on long enough to earn it's keep. We watch everything through our Foxtel box now as it's just too painful to watch TV with this unit. & really couldn't care less about their brand/product. I wouldn't buy anything Toshiba ever again as wouldn't want to put myself through that again! does it's job - when it actually works doesn't work very often

Terrible – Do not buy this set-top,you will be sorry. I agree with some of the other comments, you have to turn the power on and off to get it to reset, I don't know if that is the reason for a complete failure but every comment that has been made so far is totally correct not a thing A load of expensive rubbish, it froze all the time then just died for no reason

Terrible – Its a good paper weight, will not be buying any more Toshiba products as it seems they can not get it right!! My brother has a similar unit and has returned his for repair several times. When will Toshiba step up and take back their poor products! It fits nicely in the TV Unit Constant freezing, pixelation, random resents, and up to an hour to re initialise...
